Brings me back to The Pyramid Club on Ave A in the East Village in the 80s and dancing and loving and being blown away by the Talking Heads. All artists were there, era of Grafetti Art and ton of great galleries and great art in the East Village, including my gallery. And such great music..The Talking Heads!!!! Tina Weymouth was the bassist! And yes, check out Genius of Love by Tom Tom Club if you haven't yet. Stop Making Sense came out when I was in college, so just listening to your reaction reminded me of my drive back and forth to campus! I recorded the album to cassette tape and would listen to it in my car! LOL
Your reaction selection on point. I like this more than the studio version because the extended hook!💚❤ -Dark Side of the Moon live 1974 Theres no video footage but the audio issa flex! Great quality
Love the Talking Heads! If you are a fan of David Byrne, you should watch his “American Utopia “. It’s a live show and the choreography is great. I think you can watch on HBO. It’s from his recent Broadway show. It’s outstanding! .
David Byrne is modeling his antics off of southern preachers in revival tents who "get the spirit", speak in tongues, act all affected, etc. He does a great job of making this religious nonsense look cool while subtly making fun of it too.
Stop Making Sense is one of the all time greatest concert movies.
Saw this show in early 1984 in my hometown, Christchurch, NZ. (Who else was at 'Sweetwaters South?') It remains in light.
Glad you got the 'preacher' aspect. He oddly reminds me of my dad (Baptist preacher) in this performance.
Watching this and you are so great!!! Sending this to friends. Great great great great reaction!! Bless you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Preach, David, Preach!
out of all the reaction videos your the only one that watched the right version
Rockin' the dashiki today! I grew up with this song and the iconic video. David Byrne is a classic oddball genius.
People keep reacting to the studio version when THIS IS AVAILABLE!
The studio version doesn't have Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt levitating.
Magic!

Talking Heads bring extreme happiness and joy. I cannot sit still when this music is playing. So much joy in this band. I love it.

Also the chorus is way more melodic on this version

Hi - I think you would like Phish, Rusted Root, and Dave Matthews Band - aka 90s Jam Bands!
Think of a charismatic Christian preacher finally experiencing the chickens coming home to roost
How bout the doors cover of who do you love from absolutely live
Good stuff
