MC. has scared me every time I try and patch something with multi channels, but your tutorial "slightly" lowered my scaredyness and gives me a little more confidence with it. Thank you very much. Great Channel btw.
By far the best walkthrough of Granular synth! I spent the last several months working with poly~ to build a massive granular synth which never worked because it just killed my CPU. This method with MC is brilliant and I now have the long task of switching over all the granulators in my patch. Thank you for this little series!
I’ve watched all the UA-cam tutorials on granular synthesis in Max I could find, and this series is the most comprehensive and thorough one so far, it covers pretty much everything I was looking for. Thank you so much for this!
Grande! Thank you for this little and worthy tutorial series. All the time I thinked to learn granular synthesis but I newer try to look videos because of all at of reason. Luckly I found your tutorials, and I finished all the granular synth. videos. Now I playing for generating great sounds with this great instrument. Ciao!
Hi! Great tutorial! Thank you for such great work you do and share! I have a problem: at 10:58, when I connect the "r amount_to_read_ms" object, my audio stops working. I still see normal activity in the 100 chan meter, I still see audio activity in the meters on the patch window. I hear an occasional glitch, but no audio. When I disconnect the new section of code to alter pitch (both in the main patcher and sub-patcher, no audio returns! If I close this patcher and resort to the copy of patcher I saved at 08:19, I can hear audio again. I am using Max 8.54 on Mac with Ventura 13.5. Any ideas? I've repeated the process 3 times and get the same result??
Hi, thank you for great tutorial. One part I don't understand is that input signal for voiceallocator is no longer needed. Can you explain it? Thank you
Hey! Do you have any advice on how to make a granular synth polyphonic in pitch in a sense that I could play chords through the synth? Amazing tutorial!
Hey just wanted to say this is a great vid tutorial!! For some reason tho everything falls apart when I incorporate the "mc.wave~" object with the hanning envelope that's applied to it. My only observation is that the signal info the metro object is sending seems to stop functioning somewhere in the signal path as when I manually press the the message box (0, 1 $1) the entire patch will output signal. (PS forgive me for my poor explanation I am just starting to learn Max/msp :p)
@@lewismartin4692 lol i restarted the patch like 3 times and eventually got it right. Cant say for sure but I think mb something with the buffer size for the hanning window was off?
Awesome series, thank you! quick question, what setting did you use to make Max automatically patch a pre-existing cable in and out of an object, just by hovering the object over the middle of the cable?

Thank you a lot! Appreciate
This was an awesome 3-part tutorial on granular synthesis in the MAX environment. Using MC instead of Poly is a great idea too. Very good job, thanks!
Thank you!

Awesome! Thank you for commenting
I believe I figured it out. The Max Audio settings were defaulted to 0% CPU usage. When I adjusted this up, I began hearing audio again.
Thank you so much for your tutorials, this is great
Great series, trying to adopt this to use mc.Groove instead of play, Some intresting issues with stopping and starting each Groove..

Thank you!
You can do that by pressing shift and then hover the object close to a cable
@@AmazingMaxStuff yessss - thank you!
