Bless you, Katie, for addressing this issue. We need to share this critical information with women, so they can look at this for themselves. I’m glad you have a wonderful doctor. So many are reluctant to discuss this with their patients. We need to educate and advocate for ourselves.

Me taking HRT is saving lives, other people's lives😂 honestly I feel better. I tried without but hell man, so awful 😢
LOL 😂 Funny!! Glad you’re feeling better ❤

The way I see it is that the menopause is a hormone deficiency, they should be replaced as long as we have a deficiency. That will be till the day we die.
I mean they are not taking me of thyroxine after 5 years now are they.

Hi i started HRT at age 68 i have be using them for two years i will take them till the day i die
We have these hormones . Naturally
And if estrogen made cancer then all the pregnant women would die isn't that when estrogen is the highest when we are pregnant
Its actually other kind of estrogen nit estradiol higher in pregnency. But Estrogens not cused cancer, just they are grow promotora so when you allready have cancer it can grow faster. Listen dr Felice Gersh, she speak alot about Estrogens and menopauzę.
Estrogens they don't cause cancer. Listen dr Felice Gersh

I'm going through menopause at age 43. My doctor didn't want to put me on HRT even though I brought up the fact I found out I had osteopenia at age 38.
Crazy find yourself a different doc. I had my menapouse 43 also and im going to fontional obgyn and i just started to taking estrogen extarnal cream and progesteron from vg everday
Get a new doctor!
I'm the same age, and today I go see my Dr about this, and if he refuses I'm going to be so upset. Cause it's affecting my ability to provide for my family. I stopped sleeping, I hurt everywhere, and I have had to leave work for how horrible I feel.
Me too at 43 and I didn’t do hrt but I’m 49 and now thinking about going on hrt prempro it’s been a dark road and misery for me !
Prempro is excellent. Tried them all this is the only one that worked for me
Why would HRT not be recommended for women over 60, after not being on HRT…what are the risks and concerns in those circumstances?
Because HRT is most effective when the body hasn't gotten used to doing without it. I've heard it compared to putting gas in a car with a frozen engine. There are physiological changes HRT won't reverse once established but hopefully the worst symptoms are over by then too. Unsure if bone density would improve but sounds like it may.
I have not tried HRT. I am 48 years young and I was diagnosed with PMDD- PreMenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. This condition showed up in my life as if I was depressed, hormonal, constant crying for no reason, lethargic and moody.
Oneday I had enough of all of these symptoms and so I scheduled an appointment with my now therapist and a psychiatrist. I was placed on medication specifically to address what appeared like depression and found out that this medication is used for women diagnosed with PMDD.
I can honestly say that after 6-8weeks I am much better. No night sweats, mood swings, hot flashes and interrupted sleep.
Please don’t allow your dr to tell you what you can do for YOUR body.
If you can get hold of the products! Been out of stock for months in EU.
I am not sure why this doctor did not discuss the estradiol transdermal patch which is pretty safe for women after 60. It does not cause clotting, the stroke risks are very low and it helps to rebuild bone.
She did mention it in the first few minutes of the video.
I hope and pray all is well Katie
Non GMO soy isoflavones, Red clover, evening primrose, Now brand natural progesterone cream
I’m a believer!
Frozen shoulder: Check. 😢
They also dehydrate the mares do their urine is more concentrated. The colts are sent to get fattened up then sent to the meat market as is the mares that can no longer be of use. I wish it wasn’t true as I love horses. Wyeth is big pharma….
Transdermal estradiol is made in a laboratory now, thank goodness , so just avoid Premarin.
I agree; I would never use that brand; Poor horses. There are other options.

I started HRT at 66 because my pcp felt I was a good candidate, I stopped having hot flashes and that is so awesome! Am I too old to be on this?
No you’re not too old. Once you stop your hormones, you will lose the bone and heart disease benefits that HRT provided. Therefore, you should stay on them indefinitely.
I’m 66, been on transdermal estradiol for 15 years, and prometrium progesterone. I’ve had periodic ultrasound, and bloodwork 4x year. All is well.
I am however going to wean off this year. I’ve been on lowest dose .025 for 5 years, and since age 65, I’ve cut the .025 patch in half. My female GYNO said the research doesn’t show benefit after age 66.
My facial skin still looks good, and I feel normal down south! 🙂👍
There may not be a benefit, but if there’s no downside I think I’d consider staying on it. Having said that, it’s of course up to the individual to decide. Best wishes!
do you still have hot flashes and cold flashes?
@@valleygirl670 no, I really don’t; I never had bad flashes like what you hear about with some people being so uncomfortable. I had very mild warmish feelings, but I chose to go with bioidenticals, and I think I avoided a lot of the really bad symptoms as a result. I did just have my annual appointment again, and I have decided to keep going; my doctor said there isn’t really any indication at this point that I would have an issue.
@@PatriciaPearl111 Thanks for the update. Helpful! Best to you.
@@PatriciaPearl111 thanks for the info. how much of progesterone do you take?

i dont think men take estrogen

Hi Dr, hope you are fine and well. I'm 39yrs and I had Bso, hysterectomy, Appendectomy and omentectomy in Dec 2022 for high grade serous cyst adenocarcinoma both ovaries but my Dr didn't prescribe any HRT. I'm obese with 26bmi,hot flushes, increase sweating, palpitations and occasionally high blood pressure. Please advise what should I do. Regards
Your hysterectomy caused you to go into surgical menopause. You need to be on HRT to minimize long term health issues.
I'm 52 and 2 years into menopause. My gyno just prescribed the transdermal bioidentical estradiol patch (0.05 once a week rather than twice weekly) and oral micronized progesterone (100mg caps). He said bloodwork wasn't necessary and he can make adjustments based on how I feel. I know other women who have gone to hormone specialists who prescribe compounded HRT and they do bloodwork first to check their baseline (even though I've read that hormones fluctuate throughout the day). Should bloodwork be done first or is my gyno correct?
How is your HRT going? My gyno just put me on estrodial pathes 0.037 plus progesteron 10p mg oraly same. Wondering if you feel better?
Blood work isn’t really “necessary” but for curiosity sake you can have it done just to see your levels, but really you’re going by symptoms. And it’s different for everyone, your levels could be labeled “normal” but you feel like crap, so you may need a higher dose, etc.
Thank you!@@Blueskies1180

yes im of it and ever since, ive lost energy, lost sex drive and also problems with the after effects. This is horrible, if im to live my life id rather live iit happy and short not unhappy and long. Can GPs prescribe. Your memory gets affected etc etc
Can you please let me know how to find a doctor who will prescribe these? My GYN will not .
Have you checked MIDI health? Virtual visits and accepting some insurance. I’m seeing my GYN on Monday but this is my back up plan in case she’s not too menopause friendly. Good luck!
Google menopause specialist in your area. You might find one near you.
I would definitely stick with bio-identical hormones if you can.
What’s that?
Bio-identical hormones prescribed by your doctor that are FDA approved/tested/regulated and are dispensed at a normal pharmacy (NOT at a compound pharmacy).
Examples: 1) Transdermal Estradiol patch and 2) oral Micronized Progesterone
I want HRT. Is it covered with Insurance?
I had an early hysterectomy. I can not loose weight, hair loss, ect.
What causes your blood pressure to go up in menopause on evorol Conti patches ❤
Thank you
Would love to know what we can do when on aromatase inhibitors that eliminate all estrogen! Anything?
You can use vaginal estradiol ❤

I'm 65 and 15 years out from my last period, also never had HRT during menopause. I'm January I was put on Estradiol .25 twice a week inserted vaginally. This was after my pelvic exam, nothing wrong, but she said it was for my vaginal health. I brought up my concerns over the risk of developing breast cancer and she assured me the dose and being taken vaginally would not cause breast cancer. You just spoke of the uterine and ovarian cancer risks associated with hormones this far after menopause, should I continue with this medication or have another conversation with my OBGYN?
I’m a few years younger, but exactly where you’re at,… I was only using Vagifem inserts for close to a year, due to atrophy in that area !! Since I ended my relationship, I chose to stop…
I have since restarted this past week
(nearing 59 young) and would also like to know if this would help with my advanced osteoporosis ??
@@MitziHartVaginal estrogen will not help with osteoporosis. It will only help with Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) issues. You need to be on systemic estrogen for bone benefits (e.g. transdermal Estradiol patch, minimum dose 0.05 mg).

I am 49, still having periods, but I am experiencing low to no libido, brainfog and dry eyes. I have just been finally prescribed HRT, but am a little bit confused about it: I was advised to start on the fifth day on my next period, and should use for 21 days: first 11 days only estrogen (gel), 10 days estrogen+progesterone (gel+tablet), then 7 days full stop. I have never seen a dosage like this, I only hear about continuous usage. Does anyone have experience?
Did you get an answer for this? I am in same boat and considering HRT but still having periods...so confusing...good luck and I hope its working for you
I think this is to mimic your cycle, other types of dosage are for those who are post menopause or just recently stop having periods
@@robinleger8379 Yes: I started the estradiol gel 8 days ago, and will have to add the progestin on days11-20. So far, I am bleeding and also my breasts are tender. I know these are initial side effects but I am worried of course- cannot get a hold of doctor until mid september

How do we know our estrogen and pro levels and the right amount to take without going to the doctor office. Can it be done online by buying a test online or something? Im in late 30s, just wanted to prepare.
I only know my levels thru blood tests done at a lab with doctors orders. I’ve never tried on line testing?

@@Bekind1969 "Conventional HRT is manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. This kind of HRT is made from a blend of hormones extracted from pregnant horses’ urine and made synthetically in a laboratory. " LOL , no thank you.
@@CheekyLove hello to you… progesterone comes in many forms. Mine is from yams taken orally. What you refer to; the horse urine is terrible and it is a cream inserted internally. Bio identicals are not synthetic.

Do you know where your hormone med comes from???
You may want to find out.
Pregnant horses (by rape) standing in stalls for hours so their urine can be caught?
Do you know what happens to these poor abused horses and the babies they don't get to raise?
To be fair you should include this info.
They've been doing this in America since 1942.
Bioidentical hormones are lab-made hormones that are chemically similar to the hormones in your body. They’re made from a plant steroid found in soy and wild yams.
This isn’t correct
@@lizherbst7393 did you even research it?
@@earthrider700 Yes. Hormones derived from horse urine were once used. I believe they are no longer used, but maybe your research or experience differs. Perhaps it is still, but that’s not what my research revealed. The hormone in the estrogen patch I use is beta-estradiol, derived from yams. It’s bioidentical to the estrogen it’s replacing now that I’m perimenopausal.
@@lizherbst7393 I'm sorry but yes this is still happening.
However, there are plant alternatives.
I know people who adopt the babies from these horror hormone farms.

Give me a break.
Osteoporosis will do that!
If you mean RE the horses, it’s a disgusting industry and we have better, safer alternatives. Caring about animals is something no one needs a break from.

Are you talking about the bio identical kind or the synthetic kind?
Me? Bio identical. For me at least, never synthetic. That’s just me
@@PatriciaPearl111 I agree! I had an obgyn that never even heard of bio-identical hormones and another that said it gives you ovarian cancer. I bet she was talking about the synthetic kind.
They’re all synthetic and made in a lab; don’t get caught up in verbiage that is medically meaningless.
Here are two FDA approved/tested/regulated hormones that are “body identical” and are prescribed by a medical doctor:
1. Transdermal Estradiol patch
2. Oral Micronized Progesterone
