  • 2023 was my first year at Go Wild, and I thought it was important to share my personal experience for others who may be considering attending Go Wild in the future. Once you watch the video, it will be clearly that I highly recommend for anyone who may want to attend. And if you do, please be sure to say hi to me!
    To Jeanette and the entire Go Wild team; THANK YOU. I love ya'll so much already, and am so thankful for my overflowing cup as a result of all the hard work, love, kindness, and passion you all put into this event.
    *As said in the video, I understand others may not have had the same experience as I did. This is my own personal experience I am sharing, and results and feelings for others may vary.

    What an amazing video!!! I am going to my first Go Wild in Dallas 2024. We are total opposites. I am a very quiet introvert. When I signed up I did so without hesitation but afterwards I was umm "what have you done?". I am excited and your video did overwhelm in the beginning but by the end I was crying right along with you. My concern us feeling so out of place. Everyone seems so young. I well be 68 when Go Wild 2024 rolls around. Anyways thank you for thus amazing video. You are my hero. Hoping to bump into you in April..

    Your song made me cry too! I saw you so many times throughout the conference and I know you probably have no idea who I am because I'm absolutely not an extrovert, so I mostly watched from afar lol but you are definitely Go Wild famous 😅

    Thank you for sharing your experience at Go Wild. Never knew anything about it until I watched a video on UA-cam from PlanningWithBumble. I would like to attend at least one Go Wild event.

    I really want to go to the one in Dallas! I just want to have the experience ❤ The tickets are a lot cheaper than I expected and sounds like something I would enjoy. I love listening to people talking, I love swag and would love ti get outta my bubble. I’m not exactly introverted, I love, love to talk and hope that I could go and have fun meeting new peeps and be me. I’m truly a funny, goofy and authentic peep that can sit with anyone and be okay as long as their nice and open too. I would definitely go with my husband as a trip, but the event by myself. He’s love Dallas cause he can do all the things fishing.

    I’ve heard mixed reviews from planners old & new. I want to go at least once and make my decision based on personal experience. I’m not an introvert or extrovert, just not into cliques or popularity contests.

    • @themaineplanner
      @themaineplanner  Рік тому

      I always recommend we make our own decisions on anything in life, and not based on what others say. There are certainly people that know eachother at Go Wild that have been going for years and have made connections, but I did not find any popularity contests. Sure, you see people taking photos with those they follow on social media (ummm I certainly did this), but its because they are someone that inspires you, but I found everyone to be so welcoming and kind. I felt the worry at the beginning that I would not fit in with those that had been there for almost every year, but I felt so comfortable thanks to others. I hope you get to try it out sometime! :)

    I really enjoyed your video. I hope you make more UA-cam videos to show how you plan. I wish someone would post a video on how much one should save for Go Wild : ticket cost, hotel cost and food out. This way one can start to save for 2024. It needs to be on the higher side of cost just so , for sure , one saves enough. Your suggestion of of being a “Newbee Ambassador “ is a great Idea! So happy for you with the awesome experience you had from your “Go Wild” and hope it is always this way.

      Aww Kathy you are so sweet. I am not sure if I will do planning videos, but would be happy to make one discussing Go Wild costs and what that looked like for me personally. Let me know what specific questions you may have them and I can add them into the video! :)

    What a great experience… I did not go to go wild … I couldn’t but your secret resonates with me because aside from why I actually couldn’t go, I felt like I could never go because I’m scared I won’t make friends… it’s so hard for me to reach out and feel included. I know not to expect the same experience because I am an introvert but I would consider going now just because of your story you shared.

    • @themaineplanner

      Honestly, that makes me so happy that you would consider going now. ❤ I meant it when I said I was truly scared. Each day leading up to it made me more and more nervous, and it was so funny to me when I discovered how quickly I felt comfortable. Should you decide to come, please find me!!!! I feel like I want to be a Mother hen and welcome in all the new llaama's and make them feel safe. I truly believe even being introverted, you would have an amazing time.

    Wow, your "love" for your experience has me crying! I am relatively new to the planner world and found out about Go Wild too late to take advantage of it. I am really considering next year. Thank you for mentioning Wild University, as I was not aware of it and I am definitely going to sign up. Your passion for meeting new friends is contagious, and as an introvert I wish I had half of your energy. I can only hope that WHEN I go to Go Wild, I am lucky enough to find a "liaison" as wonderful as you 🙂

As for the energy, I am not always quite so hyped up, but the energy from the weekend was something I certainly took home with me and was happy to share with anyone else wondering what Go Wild is like. 😊

    I only recently found out about Go Wild. I want to go so bad next year. Terrified out my mind as I tend to be shy and nervous meeting people but....just watching the videos and listening to you and some others talk about their experience I know I want to be a part of that at least once.

      Just a warning, once you experience it, you likely won't be able to stop. It was only Thursday when I messaged my husband letting him knowing I would be going to Go Wild every year from now on! Even just standing in line, those around you begin to introduce themselves, and for me having contact cards was huge just to remember names and faces for later. :) I hope if you attend we get to meet!

    I just posted my Go Wild video yesterday. I thought it was fun but it definitely wasn't what I expected, and I spent over $3600 which I thought was WAY too pricey.

    • @themaineplanner
      @themaineplanner  Рік тому

      Jen, I feel like we must have watched each others videos at the same time as I watched yours shortly after you posted it. Honestly, in a way that I like we have different perspectives for other to see. I can see how it was not what you expected(I did NOT anticipate the emotional rollercoaster), but I was comfortable with it and with doing the sessions. $3600 is definitely a lot, and more than I paid, but I arrived on Thursday, had a roommate, took the metro instead of Uber from DCA, etc. which cut my costs compared to yours. For me I knew the travel would be expensive and budgeted for it. I think I was most pissed that there were no fridges, and your HVAC unit clearly sucked haha sorry that happened to you! I hope if you do join again, that your experience is a bit better for you.

    I’m so glad you had an amazing experience. I cried when I heard you tell your secret because it resonate with me so much. Even though I was with people, I felt left out the entire time even though I’ve talked with others. Maybe it was my fault for not inviting myself to join others? Idk. I was shocked to see someone who was passing out swaps say things like: well, do you have anything for me? And refused to give anyone her swap because they didn’t know what swaps are or ect. That just made me really sad. I handed the person my swap and told her she doesn’t need to give me anything. However, I really enjoyed the experience and hope to go again next year.

    • @themaineplanner
      @themaineplanner  Рік тому +4

      First off: That sour apple is NOT there for the right reasons, and that disappoints me as swaps, swag, etc. is NOT what Go Wild is all about. For me I hoped to gain a few friendships, and I got that and more. Next year, if you want someone, let me know and I can be your buddy!!!! I can see how it is easy to feel alone, especially for those that are introverted and questions themselves (my anxiety did perk up a few times and I wondered if I was *too much*) and realized I needed to stick true to just being me.

    • @themaineplanner
      @themaineplanner  Рік тому +1

      Hi Michelle! Prior to Go Wild I had ZERO planner friends. I will be honest in saying one of the reasons I decided to go was to try to meet a few people to connect with in the community. I came home with dozens of friends. I wish I could describe it because everyone is so welcoming to you just make connections simply standing in line. I was really happy I bought contact cards to hand out, because it helped break the ice. I saw a ton of people that are well known in the planner community, and honestly, they are so great about people saying hi to them and connecting with them. What I found most helpful was the facebook group for ticket holders. People start to chat through that, you start to recognize names and faces, and there are some break out groups for people to join that were great. I only "met" a few people in from the group and looked forward actually meeting in person, one of them being a roommate. We started to message one another just to know each other more and it was so relieving to have at least those few. Places I made from friends: in line both Friday and Saturday, at a dinner I joined that someone invited others to in the facebook group, at Karaoke on Thursday, my table mates both days, the crop on Friday night....And you can have my as a friend to connect with! ❤
