That attacking midfield area is the strongest I think I've ever seen for England. Mount, Grealish, Foden, Sterling, Maddison, Smith-Rowe, Bellingham. That's just off the top of my head - I'm sure there's many I've forgotten or have yet to come through. The new golden age!!

When Southgate started Mount, Grealish, Foden, and Sterling against Hungary in c.Sept 2021, they were all awful.
Playing attacking midfielders who don't compliment each other or the team, handicapped England for nearly a decade [remember Lampard and Gerrard].
Southgate took England to their first final and 55 years [and tore up countless other records] by emphasising on defensive midfield, not attack.
