    That first shot is incredible. It's giving me an intense feeling of "realness". As if I'm out there myself floating around the Orion module.

      that was my reaction too. seeing the camera move out there, in such high quality, just makes it feel so much more real and it's an absolutely amazing shot

    the Apollo craft were in low Moon orbit.. this is significantly higher above the Moon. Nice to see perspective of the spacecraft, Moon and "Earthset" in same frame.

      I'm fairly sure this orbit is oval and goes closer than Apollo did at the lowest point

      Having seen stunning images from any of mars mission , images from this artemis is so few and not as spectacula as i have expected, i grew up reading and seeing all Apollo Archieves. It s nothing close to theirs

    This is instructive material indeed. It provides a magnificent change of perspective, with our companion celestial body appearing as the major portion of mass and Earth beginning to look like some of the stars or of the other planets. Thus, the caliber of the thing is historic!

    Does it have a camera that can focus on the moon?
    Pretty lame to have a ship that close in 2022 that gives us such low res footage.

      I agree, although I dare say that the camera is probably taking amazing pictures but we will not be "allowed" to view them. You are only seeing what they are allowing us to see.

      @@scottlarsen1572 the moon is half a degree in angular size from earth and the earth would be about 2 degrees from the moon. That's not huge but then again, you've probably never been outside to realise how tiny the moon actually appears in the sky.

      the "dark side" of the moon is more accurately the "far side" because it isn't always in darkness. whenever we have a new moon, far side of the moon is in total sunlight

    It’s fake, the earth should be huge in comparison with the distance.

    There is no real video from Artemis by the moon.

      Hi scott, hope that you are well. "the earth should be huge in comparison with the distance". The angular size of the Earth when observed from the Moon should be about 2 degrees. This fits in well with what is seen in this video. . What do you expect and Why?

      That wasn't the purpose of the mission. There's lot of footage getting recorded on board and later missions will have people on board who can point and dial in settings on cameras.

      All that takes money.
      The NASA budget was already being cut during the Apollo missions and the last 3 moon landings were scrapped.
      They currently only get 10% of the budget share and only employ around 5% of the workforce compared to the Apollo mission days.
