- Virasat is a 1997 Indian Hindi film, a remake of the Tamil film Thevar Magan. It was directed by Priyadarshan and produced by the Mushir-Riaz duo. It starred Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Amrish Puri, Pooja Batra, Milind Gunaji and Govind Namdeo. The music was composed by Anu Malik.

The National award jury members must have been so ignorant that they awarded another National award to this singer (Chitra) for a PLAGIARIZED song, when the original singer S. Janaki was already awarded for this song in 1992! This was/is the status quo of "awards" in general!

The same happened in Vikram, his entire OG Vikram 1986 BGM was ripped off by Anirudh but zero credit or mention of Ilayaraaja was included in the movie's opening/final credit list or in the official UA-cam jukebox of new Vikram, it was shamelessly mentioned as "composed by Anirudh". Shameless!!!
Now all these production company vultures are only waiting for Ilayaraaja's demise so that they can shamelessly remix & re-use his hit songs in their new movies when so called MDs are out of new ideas to compose original tunes.
