Glad it's helpful Larry, it can take time and effort to get the sound you're after, but it's worth it. Don't underestimate how much you can improve the sound with a decent set of heads and a little trouble taken with tuning. Best of luck

Your content is amazing, can you please do one about how to fix crash and ride symbols sounding off?

Thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure that it's possible to change the sound of crash and ride cymbals because unlike other parts of the kit, there isn't much you can do to change the sound of them. The only thing I would suggest is that if you want to reduce the amount of "ring", or sustain that a cymbal has, you can try damping it with moongel or similar. You can also change the type of felts that the cymbal is sat on - this can affect the sound slightly - try using cym pads or similar. Thanks for watching

Thanks for this, I'm investigating an awful buzz/pitch in my snare after I changed the batter head...switched to a completely different head and now everything is off...now I'm almost positive it's just a tuning issue. Thanks again!

It's most likely a tuning issue yes. But depending on the type of drum shell, type of resonant head fitted and desired sound that you're after - certain types of batter head will work better than others. Hope you get it sorted with just tuning though. It's worth spending some time on it to dial it in. Good luck.

Great job, I need help with an advice, the Evans level 360 head on the Gretsch silver snare drum started to clean herself in the middle now it is just a ply in the middle for about 3 cm, can I use something for protection ? Or I have to wait for breaking in time ? My son is beating a lot in the snare drum. For any advice I thank you because I am not a specialist.

It sounds like the head has worn out, there's not much you can do to protect it. Instead, I would suggest that you need to go for a heavier/thicker batter head since it's wearing out quickly in the centre. a heavier head with a centre circle will take more of a pounding before wearing out. Look at these heads; Aquariun Hi Energy, Remo Controlled Sound, or the Evans Heavyweight. All the best
