A scientific theory is not a hypothesis, a theory in science have so much “facts” supporting it, gone through so many reviews, people trying to debunk it like crazy etc. It’s like saying the theory of gravity is just a guess that’s gonna get debunked one day.
Anti-intellectuals conversation about science gives you: Hypothesis/Theory... same thing. No, a guess based on limited evidence is not the same as all evidence points to this explanation. Theories change all the time. Nope! Name one in your lifetime?!? Lastly, a panel of adult men are choosing to be ignorant when the answers to most of the scientific questions are accessible through their phones. Smh!
Very rarely does all the "evidence" point to one conclusion in the realm of scientific inquiry. Also, you're ignorant on how regularly data is cherrypicked in many fields of study. You think reading NHI journals is the equivalent of years in the field?
@PoliticsReal Please site the scientific theories ( of math, physics, chemistry, and biology) that are based on cherry-picked data. Also, I said nothing about reading NHI journals. My comment was in regard to adult men refusing to engage with scientific facts and being anti-intellectuals.
@ktc227 String Theory for one is a cherrypicked, artificially boosted theory despite its obvious flaws and it almost certainly being unable to ever bridge the gap between large & small objects and how gravity interacts with said objects. The fact that you would even ask for a citation on such an unremarkable claim like that is proof that you're a complete leyman when it comes to scientific inquiry or even parsing data lol.
@ktc227 "adult men refusing to engage with facts and being anti intellectuals" You're watching a hip hop stream, and you're surprised that the hosts are anti-intellectual? Seriously? 😂
@PoliticsReal String Theory is not a scientific theory. There is limited mathematical support. No observations and no experiments to support. Who seriously studying the subject? Practically no one. Also, do you think Ish was talking about String theory as one of those theories that changes since he was a kid? Really, was that after he finished reviewing Special Relativity?
They're conflating the scientific process, scientific theories, and hypotheses, which are all related but distinct concepts. And scientific theories aren't typically completely disproven; instead, they evolve and become more refined with new evidence. So, suggesting that this process is flawed or backward reflects a misunderstanding of how science progresses. Additionally, comparing what we know about the Earth (learned over centuries) to what we know about COVID-19 (studied for a few years) isn't reasonable because we've had much more time to study the Earth in detail.
I explained this to my 2nd grader.....with Legos. Multiplication is just a way to condensed addition into a more manageable form. So 3+3 is the same as 2x3. 12x12 is easier to write than 12+12+12+12+12+12+12+12+12+12+12+12. It's just mathematical shorthand and doesn't have any special properties inherent to itself. 1x1 (or times any other number) is just another way of communicating that you only have ONE of something. It's equal to saying 1+0. It's not magic, it just a quirk in the system because in this instance (1 times another number) writing it out IS longer than just writing the singular number. Now finish your homework and go watch the Backyardigans or something.
Multiplication is the act of observing the relationship of a group or between groups (if any). It was done for thousands of years without the use of mathematical symbols. It was communicated with everyday language either verbally or written. The problem with Terrence is he don’t think I’m practical terms. He has a very loose idea of the definition and function of multiplication and exponential properties. If you have two shopping bags with four apples each, you’d have 8 apples or 2x4=8. If you had one shopping bag with one apple you’d have one apple or 1x1=1. In no situation would you an extra apple appear just because one apple is places in the bag. Or an extra bag appear. If an extra something appears the the equation changes as well as the answer to 1x2=2. He doesn’t understand exponents and square roots and the purpose of them either. But anyway. I used to get a kick out of him just making stuff up but after a while I see how compulsive it is and feel really sad for him. Crazy that anyone can have a platform
This is the most ignorant conversation that I've heard from these guys thus far. Stay in your lane. Shut up and dribble. They were all over the place with this. lol
Speaking about the pandemic is not a valid argument. This was scientist, trying to figure out the solutions in real time because people were dying. We didn’t have years and years to study this to make sure everything was correct and it wasn’t something distant that could be observed it was happening every day in our faces and time was of the essence.
Have a theory or an idea? Try your hardest to prove that your theory or idea is wrong, get other people to prove that it’s wrong. If you are the only one getting your results, chances are…..
The fact that people ever took the nonsense that man was saying seriously is actually very sad. People really can’t tell when someone is spewing absolute nonsense.
If you have experts in a field that is THEIR field of study they've done the research they know the facts. If you disagree with an expert in that field you don't have to listen to them at all, study the field for yourself and do your own research. It's really that simple. It's okay to disagree and hold opinions, we just need to hold each other accountable about what is FACTUAL and what is a belief or a theory. When having a belief or theory leads us to the fact in the first place. If you can't get Neil on the podcast I would recommend Chuck. Or both. Chuck honestly is like the hood translator. He understands Neil and can explain it in a way that we would comprehend.
@@ladydi876 Chuck Nice, he's a comedian so he puts his little twist on things but makes it easier to get the jist of what Neil talks about that when when Neil goes more in depth on the topic it makes a little more sense. They do a podcast called StarTalk together that's pretty entertaining I'd definitely recommend 🙂
@@sunkid02 not sure your point? No where in my explanation was there a claim to define the word theory? I simply stated a belief OR theory. A theory is an idea proven by facts and a belief is just having some sort of confidence in something. So if you believe in something you're just confident in your opinion over a topic. Like confidence in the flat earth theory. Even though the evidence clearly shows us otherwise. That theory was proven to be false. Anything can be called a "theory" but a real theory is an idea proven by the facts. But please if you have some research or information on your end and I'm missing something let me know
One of the issues is you hear people throwing out the term “I did my research” without seemingly having a grasp of what research entails. Watching some videos and reading something someone else wrote in books by itself isn’t really research.
@@CompletelyBlankPagei think Terrence is an idiot that has some cluster b personality disorder but, the universe is actually flat. You can look it up on Google. There’s a reason why that’s mathematically and geometrically accurate (placement of all the galaxies for instance). But Terrence is using what he read or heard as a “kernel of truth.” He unknowingly perhaps uses a kernel of truth to bridge to “novel” ideas or lies based in his misunderstanding of those truths. He’s like a version of Indiana Jones that searches for and always finds the shiny relics of his own ignorance, only knowing the quality of its shine while never acknowledging that it’s ignorance. He constructs several of these kernels together and reaches an all encompassing ignorant epiphany. Something anyone can reach to varying degrees, hence the use of peer reviews. But what matters most is how early on is the error in your epiphany. What’s one thing that made the rest of your “realizations” incorrect? For Howard it was math class in second grade.
@@CompletelyBlankPage wait what? the universe is flat. they even have a measurement/calculation of its flatness. just google "is space-time flat?" and you should find an answer quickly. Of course Terrance Howard is not correct on basically anything, but the universe is indeed very flat. A broken clock is right twice a day. Be careful not to fall into the same trap as the people taking Terrance Howard seriously and convince yourself that you know more than you actually do.
@@DirtyIrvFinestit’s also a false premise, the current accepted math is based on Greek Indian and Egyptian math, they all believed in spherical heliocentric world view
@Ikey504 correct, but....at its foundation, they revert back to "flat science" which is why a majority of scientists are proven wrong. Einstein stated there has to be "anti matter" he was laughed out of the room. Fast forward, he was proven correct. He stated that their is something outside of the four elements that connects all. He was laughed out. The aether had more evidence it exists. Which is "zero point energy" NDT brushed off that equation, Terrence Howard does not and there is more evidence AND patents for zero point energy but...folks end up "gone" pushing it publicly.
The scientific method essentially begins with a hypothesis, followed by experimentation to gather evidence. If this hypothesis is supported by evidence, undergoes peer review, and withstands scrutiny, it evolves into a working theory. When people say science is constantly proving itself wrong, I believe they misunderstand the process. Science doesn’t overturn its established theories; rather, it refines them and disproves other hypotheses. For example, Isaac Newton's theory of gravity was based on fundamental evidence that remains unchanged. Even when Einstein refined the theory to accommodate very large scales, he didn't discard Newton's ideas; he identified where they fell short and built upon them. We still use Newton's equations to get to the moon, which shows their lasting relevance. Therefore, I don't fully agree with the notion that science continually disproves past science, as mentioned at 5:20. Instead, we disprove hypotheses that fail to withstand peer-reviewed scrutiny and never become theories in the first place. The key distinction between a hypothesis and a theory is that a theory is backed by robust evidence from multiple experiments, whereas a hypothesis is not.
6:15 If the earth is flat then how the hell do you explain solar and lunar eclipses? You can't. It's literally physically impossible for those celestial events to happen the way that they happen if we're living on a flat earth. Also we have hours of video footage and photos of earth from space and yeah it's round.... just like the sun the moon and every other planet out there. Surprise
@6:10 actually there are plenty of scientists that are of Christian faith. But they still believe in science as we have observed on Earth, but because we don't know what happens after death, religion still has value to them.
Stuff like this is why I’m anti public education. It’s a MASSIVE waste of time and resources to try to teach stupid people anything more than basic reading and writing. Neil says people are made up of the same things the stars are made up of. So why wouldn't planets affect our behavior if they affect the behavior of each other? Astrology is definitely science just not what Neil is used to.
All due respect there was a lot of ignorance displayed in this conversation from the flat earth guy. He has the wrong idea about science and education. In science we do experiments to verify results and apply theories, it’s not just something taught from one to another and accepted as gospel. Also former theories aren’t exactly proven wrong much of the time. For example it’s not like Einstein replaced newtons physics and somehow Newton was wrong about everything. Or quantum physics somehow completely negates relativity. That’s not how it works. Anyway I hope you guys talk to more scientists in person and be more open minded instead of hard headed and stubborn which will keep you ignorant.

A scientific theory is not a hypothesis, a theory in science have so much “facts” supporting it, gone through so many reviews, people trying to debunk it like crazy etc. It’s like saying the theory of gravity is just a guess that’s gonna get debunked one day.
Wow, that was a bunch of ignorant drivel.
I got dumber listening to them
You'd get even dumber listening to Howard's braindead rambling about 'wave conjugation' and the 'flower of life' 😂
1×1=2 was hilarious. This was great and started the first real conversation folks have had in awhile. Facts might come back in style.
Anti-intellectuals conversation about science gives you:
Hypothesis/Theory...
@ktc227 "adult men refusing to engage with facts and being anti intellectuals"
You're watching a hip hop stream, and you're surprised that the hosts are anti-intellectual? Seriously?
Peer reviews are law in science, no conjecture, opinion, belief, just facts.
Thank you my god
3+3+3=2x3? 🤔

@@fidelledif5097😂😂😂Fair and fixed....still not wrong tho.
It's now on Terrence Howard to prove that he's right in what he believes through unbiased evidence.
His peer review is apart of science! It helps to critically think!
PLEASE get NDT on the pod to talk to Ish about the earth
Yes! Please!! 🤩
This is the most ignorant conversation that I've heard from these guys thus far. Stay in your lane. Shut up and dribble. They were all over the place with this. lol
Whenever somebody makes claims of so much of something has been disproven, ask them what specifically are you talking about.
Who's Chuck ?! Would love to check him out 😊
@@ladydi876 Chuck Nice, he's a comedian so he puts his little twist on things but makes it easier to get the jist of what Neil talks about that when when Neil goes more in depth on the topic it makes a little more sense. They do a podcast called StarTalk together that's pretty entertaining I'd definitely recommend 🙂
learn what theory means

The fact that people was seriously entertaining Terrance is scary to me… we didn’t create math we discovered it

Thank you. People are so quick to want to argue instead of actually listening
That's stupidity, too.
@@CompletelyBlankPage it's really not my scientific friend 😭
💯
The key distinction between a hypothesis and a theory is that a theory is backed by robust evidence from multiple experiments, whereas a hypothesis is not.
well said
It's a Dunning-Kruger convention.
Surprise
Love hearing y'all talk about science! Bring more engineers on!

There should be a public daycare for you to send your kids, but unless you can afford to pay for school, or you test into it, you shouldn’t be allowed to waste taxpayer money.
Ay yo, where is flip?!?!
Scientists work out theories once a theory is presented it has to be repeatable
So after he says people on UA-cam don’t understand he follows up by saying “after listening to Neil I wasn’t amazed by what Terrence was saying anymore” wow
I like how people are saying Neil is attacking him. We used to do this in middle school: writing essays, having them on the projector, fixing grammar mistakes, and checking facts. It's common stuff. People who are praising Howard are the same kids who didn't pay attention in school.
I don’t ever remember Terrence saying flat earth is a thing…. I think he’s mentioned there is no such thing as a straight line and everything is circles… like the flower of life

I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand because this 1*1 = 2 is not a new thing, and by the way, Terrance is right on this, 1 * 1 should be 2 because we are doing Multiplication, if not the name multiplication has to be changed to how many ones are in one then 1*1 = 1 will be correct but in our case, multiplication means to increase a lot in number, to make something do this or when you add a number to itself a certain number of times and we did add one to itself and the calculation came out wrong because the answer was 1.
