    David Woo, former head of Global Interest Rates, Foreign Exchange, Emerging Markets Fixed Income Strategy & Economics at Bank of America (that's a mouthful), is taking his knowledge from Wall St to Main St with David Woo Unbound.
    David believes a new Cold War has begun with the U.S. and Europe against China and Russia.
    In the first of this 2 Part series, we discussed Middle East tensions between Israel and Iran, and what it means to the oil price and where he sees the biggest risks to the global economy.
    In Part 2, David goes deep into U.S. politics and polarization and states why Trump will win in 2024.

      I've been watching for over two months as oil has climbed and with it gas at wholesale. The Dow has been reacting negatively to it moves. I sent out a tweet at the time to the Biden Admin that they needed to address this. They have done nothing about it yet it underlies all inflation. With Russia and MBS squarely in Trump's camp, actually or figuratively authoritarian, Biden needs his best economists to step forward with a constructive response to our out of control oil prices. I say decouple American oil for American consumption. It would be a populist move bring it down to $60 per barrel. And let Saudi and Russia suck some fumes from the proverbial tailpipe.

    How does these intelligent ppl miss the simple supply/demand? We’ve imported 8 MILLION new consumers into our economy in the last 3 years. It’s like adding a 51st state! These ppl need shelter, transportation, milk, eggs, bread and bacon. Huge demand increases without supply increases. Prices rise. On the money supply, Uncle Sam is borrowing and spending $1 TRILLION every 100 days. Our currency is becoming worthless. So, prices rise. Inflation cannot come down…

    Recession is most likely the result of an external factor. For the first time in decades, the United States is losing its clout as a federal reserve currency. They don't have any more economies to use to control inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than in the past. They all lend support to the idea that a new multilateral world order is in the works.

      Keep this in the back of your mind. There are good days and bad days. It's a zero-sum game, but keep this advice in mind: spend wisely, invest wisely, and diversify your holdings so that when one performs poorly, the others do as well. This can be accomplished by hiring a knowledgeable specialist whose platform provides a wide range of investment options. By doing so, you leave little room for regrets and may even gain more.

      @@BloorStreetCapital He sees the Gaza Hamas attacking Israel as some kind of a proxy war instigated by Iran against the US. He projects the US war machine strategy and mentality (using regional proxies and extremists to stir trouble around the world, like in Ukraine, in order to feed the military-industrial complex demand) onto Iran. Does he understand, that Israel has been displacing Palestinians for decades and that this has built up more than enough resentment in those people? There is no need for Iran to foment the unrest. Cui bono? What would Iran possibly gain from provoking a stronger foe (one with nuclear weapons and seemingly unconditionally backed by the US), above what it could possibly lose? Unlike the US, Iran is not a major manufacturer and supplier of arms and their politicians are not on the payroll of these corporations, either.
      He also seems to be fetishizing the US economic data. This data is not fully reflective of the state of the US economy. Most people's living standard is not going up, so what good are those numbers? What good is GDP as a measure of prosperity, when there is insane and clearly unsustainable government spending going on? What would the US economy look like with a balanced government budget, living within its means rather than shamelessly stealing from future generations?
      He demonstrates a certain level of superficiality and naivety, taking things he reads and hears at face value. He needs to go deeper in order to understand and get a clue, in my opinion.

      @BloorStreetCapital  2 місяці тому

      @@ACzechManGoingHisOwnWay It's Jimmy Connor, thank you for sharing your very detailed and insightful comments! You raise good points about the US government spending. The economy is being kept afloat by an aggressive fiscal policy which is being implemented for one reason and one reason only, and that is to get re-elected. I recently read that for every $1 trillion in GDP it is costing $1.5 trillion. We will be paying for this for decades to come. The next few months will be very interesting.
