Parliament of South Africa - “To represent the people, and to ensure government by the people in fulfilling our constitutional functions of passing laws and overseeing executive action”. Parliament - Watch heated debate by DA John Steenhuisen on Second Reading debate: National Qualifications Framework Amendment Bill. EFF mocking Steenhuisen on his qualifications. *****
The Constitution affords all South Africans the right to see and hear what happens in Parliament.
For the last 7 years and for the benefit of subscribers and the community “My Africa” search for sequences that are newsworthy, interesting, funny etc. From a, sometimes long and boring, Parliament sitting allowing the community the opportunity to choose which sequence they find interesting and want to watch.
As a result “My Africa” adds significant value to those effected by the exceptionally high cost of Data and Pay TV.
Also “My Africa” allows the community to comment and contribute to discussions in a meaningful manner and take stories forward.
However, we will NOT condone the following:
- Racism (including offensive comments based on ethnicity and nationality)
- Sexism
- Homophobia
- Religious intolerance
- Cyber bullying
- Hate speech
- Derogatory language
- Comments inciting violence.
We strive to make the UA-cam community a safe and welcoming space for all.

Lindumusa Nxele why are members allowed to bring up numerous points of order during the debate. In the uk, the speaker would refuse to hear the points of order until after the debate.

It is obvious that mine workers and domestic workers typically cannot afford higher education. People in Parliament however remain without a degree by choice. Choice is the keyword here. If you are in Parliament you get paid decent money so it is not fair to compare the academic plight of laborers to the willful ignorance of well-paid people. There is no excuse for you Steenhuisen!
