And yet this movie made 247 MILLION DOLLARS!!! It only cost $80 million, meaning it was very profitable!!! It made more money than "Gattaca," "The Shawshank Redemption," and "Bladerunner" COMBINED!!!
    I just don't understand humanity...

I'm guessing people just wanna see stupid. However, knowing that this movie made more money than the fucking shawshank redemption movie, now I'm depressed. :(

Could be the worst movie I ever witnessed. I can't believe I sat through this steaming pile of crap. It is up there with That's my Boy and Just go With it, I will never watch another Adam Sandler film again.

"you're bad people", god I love Matt. Because he is very professional and often gives dispassionate impartial "grownup" analysis, when he does bring the funny it just has that extra zing. Plus he has consistently been the best reviewer on this show.

I dig when Matt takes lead in a conversation b/c most of the time, he is cut-off during the convos.

Hmmmm yeah this movie was a pile of shit, I didn't laugh once, it's just a typical modern Adam Sandler film like Jack and Jill, it's a shame I liked the wedding singer and Happy Gilmore, this guy used to be funny but now not a chance

No matter what I may disagree with Alonso Duralde on, I am SO HAPPY that we are united in searing hatred for Nick Swardson!!! That guy has NEVER been funny in anything. Even in Blades of Glory, which is actually quite funny, he was the one actor who sucked the fun out of the room. That guy should never work in anything ever again!

  • @MrSuperjam789

The worst thing is that he can make good movies, but because they don't do well, he gives up on them. Funny People continues to be a prophetic spell on Sandler's career.

I'll never understand why these guys are always so shocked that an Adam Sandler film is silly and lazy. C'mon, what do you expect?

    • @ivancorredera4241
      @ivancorredera4241 8 років тому +1

I'm guessing because some people actually have the slightest bit of hope that Adam Sandler could make a decent comedy film again. But after Pixels, people are finally waking up and are getting tired of his shit. Why do you think he's forced to do 4 movie deal with Netflix. No professional in Hollywood wants to work with this lazy clown again.

The thing is, I am not an Adam Sandler hater. I was a huge fan of his growing up, just seemed like as I got older, his movies got more kiddish to me and seem to just get worse. He's proven form movies like The Wedding Singer, Punch Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, and Funny People that if he tries, he can be taken seriously an actually "act". Those movies were all successful and praised. I just wish he would do more stuff like that. Still funny, but not 12 year old, toilet humor funny like this.

Yeah, sounds about right. I don't see in fault in their logic. I gotta say the guy who seemed to be saying Shaq was too good of an actor to be in this movie was have been high or joking. Shaq and actor should NEVER be used in the same sentence or paragraph for that matter.

Okay, I haven't even seen this movie and I've already had so many people tell me it was good, I cannot wait to see it because I love a movie that can give me a good laugh. Like critics need to stop trying to hate on the movie and just laugh a little. The first grown ups was hilarious and that's why it made so much money. Grown ups 2 is obviously gonna get a lot of money too

Matt said anybody thought this is funny is bad people, but he liked last years That's My Boy, a movie that had a grown woman seducing a 13 year old boy, and had incest. Grown Ups was not a great film, but it had none of those things that That's My Boy had, so what does that make you Matt

I call bullshit! Adam sandler is a living legend. Now I will admit he has been slipping, but he has influenced so many kids and has been a part of all of our childhoods. like happy Gilmore, billy Madison, the wedding singer, big daddy, those movies are so well known because Sandler is a genius and doesn't deserve this for trying to make people laugh a little.

And they edited down The Way Way Back review. They're are only playing to a wide audience because all they care about are the number of views, not movie lovers. It's too bad. This venue could get the word out on smaller films but they choose not to. A shame.

if you hate critics you should NEVER engage in any form of art. All art has professional critics. The point of criticism is to better the art as a whole. You don't have to agree with critics and can go enjoy whatever you like but criticism is part of the game of art. if you can't handle the response to putting your art out there then don't put it out there.

I have a passion for film, I want to grow up to be in filmmaking, but I HATE critics. Especially the arrogant kind like these guys who think they know everything about comedy and filmmaking. I hate critics because they act like their opinion is the only opinion. Truth is, this film might be hilarious to some people and boring to others. I am going to see it, because I have LOVED Adam Sandler since I first saw him in Big Daddy when I was about 3. I LOVE Adam Sandler and I will see this film.
