This guy is humble. He is (seems to be)a very nice guy.He is exciting to hear....
Gus G is amazing guitar player and respects the way the original versions were played but with his own guitar magic
I love how honest he is. It's refreshing to hear someone with such a raw take on things like this.
Gus G is flawless, one of my favorite guitarist
He's just so good. So refined and smooth. Chops for days. Ozzy, as yet, hasn't made good use of Gus's talents. If Osbourne is smart he'll allow Gus to pen some music. I own everything featuring Gus and never not marvel at his abilities. Truly the man is a modern metal axe superstar.
Don't forget that English is Gus' second language, so he's entitled to say "you know" as many times as he fucking wants
You have to be an amazing guitar player to rise to the top , with hundreds of players out there
so clean and effortless... superb playing indeed
You know Gus you know
Gus is a great addition to Ozzy's band. He plays awesome! Great interview. Thanks for the upload.
I don't normally like super technical guitar players, but I like him for the fact that he's pretty technical.. but he makes things his own. Which most metal players nowadays are another clone just like he said : x
P (You Know | Gus speaking) = 1
about 100 "you know" in ten minutes. Fuck yeah Gus .
This guys is insanely talented.
"I'm not with some coverband...I am standing right next to the man....the riff is the riff, you can't fuck around". I love it. A great choice by Ozzy, for sure.
People start talkin bad about Zakk when they realize they will never be able to play his riffs and solos. Zakk has insane rytthem
Amazing work ethic and talent. Noone has the right to change the song, but doing your own thing is ok.Thankyou.
Amazing talent
A pride for the forefathers of the music, from Ozzy s career, for as long as it last. Its really a good sense of accomplished effort in respect to the many outstanding songs that have been pre eminent in the life time of a genre maker s music. I am very pleased with Gus, and his respect. I would hope that his music in Ozzys presence is as memoriable as those who took the helm in all the transitions of this music. We can lay to rest the masters of their own era, in wants of newer and more relevant presentations. We all love new music as much as the staples of our years. I look forward to the new generation of dynamic players.
You know ... I love his tone.
I think this guy is very respectfull of other muscians and want to pay tribute to the guys that made those recordings great. I love to hear when the songs sound close to the records. specially tha solos. if I wanted to hear a loose cover version I wouldn't go to an ozzy show.
"I play as close as possible to the original" I like Gus he knows what the fans want.
I love how he sneaks his pinky in there to hit the octave, that's pretty cool, I will steal the shit out of that
@geicowithdagheko1 It's all about resolution. If you watch this video on a PC (especially widescreen monitor) it looks too "pixely". It happens to all my videos that are more than one part.
As far as the quality of the video, its not as hard to swallow In this form. I congratulate the author of the split decision on these allowable efforts.
I do enjoy combative opinions unless they have no substance between the cones. As far as Gus, goes I m sure that the difference is made up of personal choice and greater audience participation. Albeit that large arena bands whom ever the favorite be, do not hold the crowd like they used to. But, ultimately when you speak of any good guitarists you compare them to the great guitarists that you are aware of. But, much like the apples and oranges thing. If they don't play the same type of music. Get a lighter and shut up
amazing playing
i think zakk set the bar really high for gus. good luck gus
This guy is awesome! He is young. He is very interesting to hear
xD hes using the words "u know ?" almost as often as Zakk does xD
gotta love Gus and Zakk
his tone and licks remind me of satriani, probably one of his influences.
I like the description of this video.
I love " I Don't Know" !
You know...You know... You know....
+Louis Lowe assuming you feel less than appreciative towards this effort of gus. his playing ability is near stellar. because he can shoot the moon with any demanding style but especially hard fast and shred consumerate speed clarity and content that expresses great character many are incapable of matching for lengthy compilations.
You know...you know...you know what? You're right! It reminded me of my reading an interview of Gregg Bissonette in "Drums & Drumming" many years ago. If somebody gave me a nickel for every time Gregg said "really" in that interview, I'd have, like...all these nickels. I'm not taking anything away from Gregg otherwise; he was the "big brother" drummer a lot of us teenage drummers at the time looked up to fur guidance. I guess it's also like when Eddie Murphy pointed out in "Delirious" how "HAAAIIIEEE!" is an official James Brown lyric. Anyway, great observation, Mario...and Gus, if you're reading this, I still love you, man. You're no only an exceptional guitarist, but seem like a sweet guy as well.
I often find conflicting arousal about the speed versus substance studies in styles directly connected to every genre of music known to man. A blues advocate for the entirety of life but as well, a reborn advocate of stylized speed. Yet a early awareness of speed phrasing that bought appreciation for satriani via malmsteen. And those in the late 70s whom use staccato, legato and deft finger flight taken from the likes of sabbath skynrd ms molly and the 3 guitar onslaught of southern rock and the masters of all. The lz in us all the jimmy s and jimi and those elustrious fusion type players of late 60s into prominence thru 70s into mystic realms of guitar lore. It's great to feel fleeting nimble fingers on the fret board if only in passages unlengendary but improving. It's not rock. Truly it is the flight of the bumble bee the hummingbird and of course the legendary hello angels whom die for the love of speed and groove
Everyone giving him shit for saying ya know, give him a break.. English isn't his first language and he speaks a lot better than people who were born here
that boys got some fingers!!!
i dont care about saying you know, i understand what hes saying... the guy can play... one of the best.
Kostas is the man!
"sticking to the originals..."
I think you are right.Zakk instinctive playing is what I like for ozzy, more than other things....(I've been playing jazz for 20 years,so probably my mind is completely gone....but i still wanna rock :))The reality for me is less, less smarter....when an artist is not "old" or aged, but has no more inspiration, brain, and health often the choice of his musician is not over the top.Band leaders often choose their musician with the intent of creating good alchemy, but they only want to be STARS.PEACE.
@Tuscopa No problem, dude.
I personally love zakk, but gus is a genious and he fitts with ozzy very well. i think people should stop arguing which guitarist was the best
Yes gus, we know
"you know". RIIIIIMBA!!!!!
Awesome!
Kiana Shotgun =)
I like the humble nod to Jake E Lee. Jake tends to get lost in the mix of Ozzy's guitar players, but who was/is a great guitar player.
its cool its ok thanks for uploading
@WordMetallica Oh really? Well then I'm sorry. ))))
You do realize that he's never gonna visit this upload page, let alone read your comment? Right, genius?
are tabs included with this lesson in the magazine?
this makes proud to be a greek guitarist
i have gus's guitar (not the original) and its so awesome
drinking game!!! a shot of whisky, every time gus says; you know
Gus is a fucking beast!
To me it seems like he doesn't really look up to Randy which is fine, but he looks up to Iommi more than Randy and Randy was the first guitarist for OZZY .. Not Black Sabbath . Maybe I'm so used to Zakk making refferences to Randy and Zakk really looked up to Randy...
Randy was not Ozzy's first guitarist black Sabbath was well before that what rock have you been under? Randy was my favorite but Gus brings a certain humility that zakk nor Jake possessed. Iommi played simple chords but was the first of his kind
lol this is every random metal heads dream
Greek God
I know, Guz, I know
yeah i did, and a lot of his other videos. It just looks like when he's doing fast runs he just ignores his pinky.
Vid quality sucks doooooood!!! (just kidding fella, thanks for taking the time to upload!!)
@pizzahut10193 Zakk never reached the bar set by Randy though.
you know you know you know :D
I think I have a new drinking game... Ya know?
Yes I know
Yes gus we know...
Come to Australia Gus!
Song written by Ozzy and Zakk on the huge album No More Tears I Don't wanna Change the World won a Grammy, how soon people forget.Where is Gus playin now that Ozzy is back with Sabbath?
First go with zakk for lesson of how to play No More Tears and then i will see your lessons because you gained a lot of experience!
I luv gus g,,saw him in concert with the OZ .. hes awesome and so sexy !!!!!!!!
did they noise gate his mic or something?
wish Jake E Lee stuck around for longer his single album contribution was tremendous
@EddieSharp Because he's Greek xD Im Greek too and I use this word when I speak English :P and Im nervous too :)
do all of ozzys guitarists have to say ya know 100 times a video?
@hyperbilly13 Yeah, except Zakk.
@king666nothing the comment its for gus
nobody dislikes a gus g lesson. OH YEAH!
fucking hell, when he says he says "yer all the yngwie stuff" the improve is precisely like yngwie
86 “you know”s in 9 minutes, 28 seconds
@Schecter725 No, unfortunately.
you know
I like this guy's attitude--a lot. Could never stand anything about Zakk. I love Jake's playing, but he is so shy and reclusive. Brad Gillis did a great job considering his circumstances. And what's there to say about the Great Randy?
Gus g is pretty beast. you know?
"You know"
During his late videos he has stopped saying "you know". Don't forget tjat it's his second language.
Time for all you naysayers to put up your videos next to his....you know?
yeah you know, sounds right you know, but I don't know if you know.....you know
Ozzy is not "BACK" with Sabbath.. He is doing an album and a tour.. He will start work on the next Ozzy album WITH GUS, when the tour is over.
@Lovemetallica93 Sorry, cannot agree.
@king666nothing the coment its for gus
oh sorry hahah i thought u meant like at all and its all he does :P but i like the fact he dont use his pinky in the fast bits :) unfortunately i am doomed not to be able to train my pinky because i broke my arm when i was youger which is effecting my pinky so gus gives me hope :) coz he dont use it at fast bits :P
i didn't realize till now but at times he sounds like cheech from cheech and chong
I try to practice my speed spicking.
is there a reason his guitar and hair match???
@hyperbilly13 That's right.
ok he uses the phrase "you know" a lot. So do i.... you know? That's just how he talks. Just like Obama who says Uhhh all the time. So what? That's just who he is.
He should write a song titled 'Y'Know'
Tabs?
Gus G is awesome! One of the best players living today. Such a sick tone!
