I have just traded in my 2008 1.4 tdi after 12 years of ownership and 104000 miles it’s was the best car I have owned very economical and very reliable it was going to need some big jobs doing on it to get to the next hundred thousand miles I now have a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 diesel which is a lot smoother with its extra cylinder it also has more toys to play with and Surprisingly doing the same mpg as the polo
Well said Eddie, the Turbo Diesel 1.4 is one of the best on fuel. Am glad you pushed it to 104000, great indeed. I would love to drive the Vauxhall though. Do you have the manual shift, how is the fuel on it. Is it value for money?

@@yctestdrive the Astra has a 6 speed gearbox most ov the time you drive in 4 th in 30 mph zone you after be doing 45 50 for it to be comfortable in 5 th 6 th is ok at around 60 mph were the engine is doing 1500 rpm the mpg is about the same has the Polo when I fill up with diesel the computer says I have 720 miles of range from 56 litres which comes to 73£ the Astra is a 2015 41000 on the clock not quite the same build quality has vw but not far behind one good thing it was built at the time when diesel were Thought to be non polluting I don’t have to pay any road tax
