He was funny and on Des O'Conner and on Paul O'Grady he told different jokes. Now go and compare Frank Carson and Aiden J Harvey on this channel... Most of the jokes are the same.

He never got the break coz he only ever had one act. Watch all his footage on here, all his shows. Same jokes but in a different order. His comic timing and his delivery is brilliant...but you can only hear the same joke so many times

How is it the same with most comedians? The best change their act, they're topical, they're clever. This guy can deliver...but it's the same all the time.
Back then almost all the comedians only needed the one act. They'd take that "one" all over the country and would add variants depending on where they were performing. Dining out on the same jokes worked out well for them, it paid the bills and gave them the most fantastic lifestyle. Today's comedians have leapt the extra mile, many are multi millionaires by the time they've done the circuit a couple of times, and they get so much tv work out of it, not to mention dvd sales, also the exposure is massive with the internet and social media, plus many of them today don't mind writing material for other comedians(most back then would never have done that) Back then most acts did clubland and small venue comedy concerts and only made tv if they were exceptional, like Jim Davidson, Freddie Starr, Bob Monkhouse, Tommy Cooper, Cannon & Ball so on. And even the big names in comedy from back then could have only dreamed about todays comedy wealth.....I mean take Eric Morecambe he was Top Dog back in his time, yet when he died he left just a couple of million quid, that sounds a lot but for the years he'd put in, and the tv work he'd achieved that really wasn't a huge amount. Today you've got comedians selling out massive venues like the O2 arena, Apollo, Wembley and so on, and earning millions for a couple of tours. Back then comedy was done for the love of the game just like football pre the "stupid salaries" era. The comedians of today should be kissing the imaginary feet of the comics that went before them, because they truly paved the way for today's comedy rich list.....Did I tell you the one about.....!

glad somebody understands it, the act stays the same but the audience changes, this guy puts the same comment on all his videos. seems to forget that comedians didnt have to worry about their act being on youtube. if you wanted to see a comedian you went to a club not looked on a computer
I enjoyed it but some of the jokes were ancient He could do with some new material
