The first time I ever skipped school was the day this album hit the shelf at the local record store in 1978. Four friends all pitched in our lunch money and walked into town, bought this album and went to one of our friend's house and put it on the turntable and just like that, our 6th grade world was rocked!
I remember when I was about 12, all us kids in the back of a pickup with a camper top on it, back window open, driving from Canton Texas to Possum Kingdom tx for a family reunion, singing along to this album all the way. I don't know how we're all still alive cause according to the "experts," we should've died from carbon monoxide poisoning back then or be dying from the effects of it now. But we made it and that album is still good listening!
Kids who lived in the 70's/80's had it really great. The stuff we did and saw can in no way be recreated by the ultra filtered, politically correct and foam padded world they live in now. Whoooo!
Ah yes, Ice Cream Man off VH1!!! - one of the dirtiest songs ever without a single bad word in it. Van Halen brought the fun and spicy innuendo to classic rock. When they came out with that first album in 1978 it ushered in the good times of the 1980s. They were all about fun in the sun, cruising around in your or your friend's Camaro blasting a Van Halen cassette, and ice cold beers and hot ladies :)
I love innuendo even more than sarcasm. Van Halen NEVER disappointed. You gotta do a reaction to their song Dreams. YOU will love it and so will your viewers.
The lyrics go, "Got good lemonade, Dixie cups, all flavors and push-ups too." Alex was kickin' up that beat. Michael was groovin' up that rhythum. David was rockin' while Eddie was bringing the fire. ✌❤🌹
Now to me it sounds like "one brown banana" and not "good lemonade " . I know the liner notes go with "good lemonade" but it sure doesn't sound like that. I guess only Diamond Dave knows what was coming out of his mouth.
A lyrics video has the line going " I got pudding pie bannana, dixie cups" all flavors and push-ups too. Which makes more sense to what she thought it was referring to. Putting my bannana in your dixiecups???
I'm here cause I have to hear this. I sang it in karaoke and it got "attention", LoL. Sang it with friends' bands, got some "attention".... LoL Can't help wondering how you couldn't know what he's doing to "cool you one time"... LoL. Mahe Ohna ✌️ Favour ALL
All my flavors are guaranteed to satisfy! Lol! When this first came out it took me a little while to realize what it really meant of course in my defense I was a tween.
"this song is NOT about ice cream" (15 y/o) Me: "uhhh Yeah it is!!!" -then- (17 y/o) Me: "ohhhh Riiiiight!!!" Out if high school I worked at a hotel where these guys stayed when on tour and giiiiirl, I got some STORIES...
If u wanna hear another VH "spicy spice ", check out one with the second lead singer. The title is Good Enough and is with Sammy Hagar doing the lyrics and vocals
I like these videos. It gives me hope for the world. It shows me that not everyone has to be ignorant and claim they aren’t interested in things that aren’t what they are used to. A race war doesn’t have to happen like some people on Twitter think.
"Well we know one thing, this song is not about ice cream!" I'm still laughing.

That reaction was priceless!! Next time you hear that ice cream truck rollin' through your neighborhood you'll be thinking differently.
Nobody is ever ready for an actual "First Listen" to Van Halen. That S*** is nuclear.
That song sums up why Dave era was better than the Sammy era; tongue in cheek lyrics, swagger, guitar virtuosity, and that swing!
When u realized what. It was about your reaction was priceless.
Girl watching your reaction really make us all smile to see your emotions keep up the great job..............
My favorite EVH solo ever. it's just perfect!!!!
Well you gotta have a little ice cream to cool things down after the “spicy spicy” lol.
Dave plays the acoustic intro on this one! Awesome live back in the 70's!
Definitely my favorite Van Halen song..was everything that made the original lineup great!
You were nodding your head innocently to the first moments....until the banana went into the dixie cup. Then those 👀 got big!
All Flavors and PUSH-UPS TOO...
R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen
LOL no the song is not about ice cream....I highly recommend in the same vein Aerosmith big 10 inch record

Tube Snake Boogie is too.
These songs were originally recorded by blues bands. Some of those songs were explicit as all get out.
I love your faces lol they crack me up...luv ya!! RIP Eddie Van Halen 😢 🙏
