Easily my favorite aerial hoop act. The musicality and use of rolls, combinations, and flowing movement to create a dance-like feel sets your work apart for me.
I've watched a lot of Lyra on youtube. This has some of the "freshest" moves I've seen in a while. Definitely a unique style and feel with some great interpretation of the music. Well thought out and executed.
I am learning Lyra, and while I love watching videos on youtube for inspiration I feel like so many get wrapped up on the technique that it looks stiff. You are an inspiration to me. Not only are you incredibly skilled technique wise, but you feel the music and you made me feel things watching your performance.
I know exactly what you mean. I see some aerialists folk and despite of years of experience, they don't have a sense of rhythm or grace, it's just raw strength. And it works for certain performances but IMO having a sense of rhythm and grace is the cherry on top.
This is the definition of someone using an apparatus as a living, breathing piece of art. I have never commented on a UA-cam video before, and this deserves my first one. As someone who is an intermediate aerialist (Lyra), I am inspired and moved beyond words. You are the kind of people that make me want to create art. Thank you.
Wow thank you🙏 Sorry I didn’t respond sooner, just found this comment. I really appreciate the feedback and am so glad it meant something to you. All the best to you in your endeavors ❤️
omg that moves were soooo clean, so fluid nd at the same time, so strong nd impactful. This video was one of the most beatiful things that i´ve ever seen before. Your facial expressions showed you deeper and deeper into the music, u rn he difficult things in a pice of cake. You made such a great job. Thank you.
Oh my gosh. You must have such amazing strength, and yet it still looks so graceful and effortless. The five minutes it look to watch this video felt like nothing! This is amazing.
Your experience shows and this is blowing my mind with your originality. Top bar heel hang made me lose my mind tbh. Exquisite work. Not to discourage the people in the comments, but I've been training hoop for 7 something years, and I don't look 20% this good. You bring something truly inquisitive and refined to your art and even though I'm a total stranger, I just needed to pour some love for you today.
Thank you so much! Your comment made my day:) Easy to forget why we do what we do with all the isolation these days and so nice to be reminded that it can be meaningful. Really appreciate the sweet feedback.
Going to a beginner's class in 2 days. I've done pole and aerial yoga, this feels like a mix a bit. What part of your body is it the hardest on? BTW, you're stunning. Absolutely beautiful work.
HI Sarah, glad to hear you're going to explore aerial hoop! What part of your body gets the most abuse will depend on your particulars and how you use your hoop. Your hands will likely be sore at first but that will pass if you stick with it and stay consistent in your training. For me, my ribs generally complain the most- likely because of all the rolling around and mashing them into the bar I tend to do... Ahh, the many joys:) Good luck and have fun!!
I do Lyra and I used to get a ton of blisters on my hands all the time but you will get used to it. It could also hurt you feet, legs and arms depending on what moves you do. But it’s really fun and challenging to me!! I hope you like it and have a great time!!
