In the traditional church, one would say HULA has no place. But I believe as the scripture speaks of in Romans 12:2 "renewing the mind" as long we know who we believe in and that HE is the reason we are dancing. It's all good. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy hula and believe that it has a place in the church...BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING!!!
Absolutely beautiful! Hula has come a long long way since the degradation of the first missionaries and to show proof that it can say all that needs to be said and IN CHURCH even....brings tears and makes me proud...mahalo to those wonderful representatives of Hula. Wonderful job, beautiful motions and most of all the aloha. Wonderful !!!

I love this hula too - it was created by Kumu Hula Leilani Alama. When she taught it to us, she wanted us to be still for most of the song so that the movement of the dance did not distract from the message (like an actual prayer). Aunty Lei loved the Lord and I believe that God gave her and her Alaka'i, Miss Jean Serikawa, a special gift of creating and teaching hula so that he could share His love with us. May you be filled with God's love when you watch this hula!
