Don’t give up man! When I was your age I face the same situation but during that time I prayed, I fasted, and read as much as I could. God brought me through like he said he would. He said he will never leave us nor forsake us. Even in the times when we feel all alone he is still there, when we go through the fire he is right there with us. Felt like God wanted me to encourage you man!

Today he is working on his PHD at OSU, after he quit OSU at first to go to Bible College then went back and was picked to attend thru a very competitive program. As I was reading the comments I see that so many people are criticizing the Van Halen t-shirt. Why does it matter what he wears?? How does the shirt he's wearing affect anyone's life. It for sure didn't have an impact on my life. While others see the shirt he is wearing, I see a man leading an amazing worship service that is changing peoples lives. Matthew 7:1-2 says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you". Who are we to judge??

Trust me, that day God will be like welldone God and faithful servant one day in heaven and he will never remind him about that tshirt because it's irrelevant to God. I don't see any problem with that as long as his heart in rooted in Christ
When God saved that guy He saved that shirt too.
It matters because of who it represents. This song is powerful, sung by a man set free, that much is true. No one is judging his faith or sincerity - at least I hope not - but I am questioning his choice to wear a shirt and essentially advertise a secular group. Those weaker in their faith may not know the band in his shirt. They may go looking for the music and listen to it thinking that if it's good enough for this worship leader then it must be okay. As worship leaders and Christ's ambassadors we MUST represent Him well and not cause others to stumble in the slightest way.
It is a great song very powerful! "God doesn't care who you were son, only who you are"! That said as a "leader" it IS your responsibility to do so without confusion if you can't do that one simple thing then simply don't lead!
