We always think alike with similar tastes 💕 Its amazing how expensive designer fragrances have gotten lately. They just aren't worth it. You can get such a better fragrance in the niche fragrances. More and more people are catching on.

I’m in a very make dominated field. However, the times are very strange now. My best advice may not be received well these days.
Remember we are women, with our own strong suits. Don’t try to “be a better man.” Femininity is our power, and that’s something men can’t compete with.
Such a great topic Greta! Designer fragrances seem to be going up in price because of this recent boom in fragrance popularity. But you can get so many niche fragrances with better quality for the same price!

Chantel!! 😃 Yes, it’s crazy how expensive designer fragrances have gotten. They’ve taken away one of the only draws: affordability and availability. Niche is rapidly becoming the better option.

I love that Teddy Blake bag, stunning🤩😍👌. I’m always amazed at how expensive designer fragrances have become over here🇿🇦🇿🇦. With niche it depends, some brands are more affordable here than out of the country and vice versa. At least by now I know my prices and I don’t pay more than I have to😱😱. My mum always taught me to live within my means and that has stuck with me😱😱. I agree with everything you said about money and debt👌👌. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰
I know you do your sue diligence finding the best prices. And with the drastically changing currency exchange rates, it makes a big difference!
I was shocked when someone said they spent $150 on La vie est belle. Back when I used to work in fragrance in 2015 designers where around $100 top. Personally, I "left" a lot of designer fragrances behind, sometimes I try but price/value is just not there.
It's definitely changed, making niche such a better choice!
Designer perfume is super expensive these days. Interestingly, I have a lot of the Dossier dupes for those and they are often better than the original. For example, I think the Replica dupes are better than because they are EDP. I prefer to spend my $$$ on niche. I am a huge fan of Xerjoff fragrances.
Greta, thanks for this. I am the same way about niche and there are just so few designer perfumes I admire (I think I only have 2 cool weather designer perfumes: Dior Addict and Givenchy L'Interdit Rouge). I will invest in a perfume if I think it is worth it. However, I am not in a position to just buy Roja, for example, on a whim. OK, you convinced me I must try Happyland.
Happyland is phenomenal! His Homme for the holidays and Decaf are amazing this time of year, too.

I totally agree with your comments about being able to pay for something in the same month. Actually, the only debt we have is our house at the moment. My family makes fun of us for driving old cars…. But we don’t like car notes! We both have jobs where it doesn’t make sense to have a nice car (I’m assigned to a low income area with a lot of drugs and crime, and my husband parks on the street near a large university). I wish I had some insight on how to start a business. I’m looking into it, just not sure where to start. Great video!
I wouldn’t drive a nice car either in that situation. You’re being smart! We have to make decisions based on what’s best for US, not someone else.
Hi Greta👋 I so get this video😁 I've spent the first 10 years of my working life saving and paying off debts and although I've always love fashion, I've never been into expensive hand bags, its a good thing for me😅. As just like you say "pick our battle" and mine are perfumes and leather jackets and its only the last few years that I've amassed enough to feel comfortable splurging on designers clothing. Even then I still don't feel comfortable buying retail and always wait for a special and the pieces I picked are usually timeless, hence I collect rather than buy on trends😁

We are so much alike. I should’ve said “pick your passion,” not “pick your battle.” It’s just such a cliche phrase. How boring would life be if we didn’t have something we indulged in? Within our limits, of course.
If you shop around and look for coupon codes; you can get niche fragrances for less than designer prices. I bought Nishane 3.4 oz of Ani for $115. I recently bought Vertus Monarch 3.4 oz for $105 and it is amazing. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for great niche fragrances.
100% Kyler! The stigma of being high priced is just so wrong. Think Nishane is in department stores to sniff now, too.

I did pick up the 50ml of Burberry Her Elixir, but I only got it because I had a 20% off coupon from Sephora. There’s a lot of niche I want to explore, and there’s always sales & discount codes out there to use. ☺️

@@GretaBeth I do like it. It’s a playful crowd pleasing scent, but it is NOT worth paying full retail. I would rather put my $$$ into more complex scents. I’m looking to purchase Herod next thanks to @AnneLauren. I got a good sized decant to hold me over until I can get that one. Much different than Her Elixir. 😂
Very different 😆 Herod is an excellent fragrance that’s been out for quite a while now. One of my favorites.
There are a lot of newer ones along those lines even better (if you can fathom that). It’s also easy to find in Nordstrom’s to try.
I'm glad you addressed some issues here about not carrying credit card debt and looking and feeling fabulous without breaking the bank. Also, for heaven's sake, you do not owe us details about your private and financial life! It is easy for us to view you as a friend since we spend some of our downtime watching you, but... as much as I hate to say it, there could be creepy stalkers who also watch you. Stay safe!

Ya, i hear the humming noise, sounds like a air conditioner electric fan noise.
Id just ask the pros what they use and go get that stuff. Or maybe its a setting issue to toggle with.
I use Rode microphones, which is the best, and exactly what everyone else uses 🤷♀️ But as I mentioned, I didn’t use any microphone here to see if it’s the microphone causing the humming. Others have mentioned the same issue, and we use different recording devices. So I have no clue 🥹
I agree. Burberry is overpriced. However, I bought Burb HER the original because 1. Francis made it and 2. I really like it...I stopped a lady once as I thought she must be wearing MFK BR540, she wasn't, it was Burb HER. I have BR540 but don't want to wear t everyday. I also bought Burb HER EDT as it's very green and I LOVE green

I got the Buontalenti on a group purchase. After a few the shipping to USA is free. I paid I believe 10 extra for customs it was a total of 120 with shipping
I don’t know why it cost you $120. I didn’t pay any additional customs fees. Once you hit €300 (which is $300) it’s free shipping. I paid €80/$80 for Buontalenti.
@@GretaBeth It could have been less. I don't remember! I did have to pay shipping as well because the group purchase was in another state. I think a little bit of customs had to be paid because it was more than 15 bottles it was almost 2 years ago I believe.

Rich people are rich because they invest. They don’t spend money beyond their means and like you, they know when something is too expensive . I grew up dirt poor, but I learned from my parents mistakes and got educated on how to obtain assets, invest, and prepare for my retirement goals. I think it’s sad that so many young people dont understand and aren’t taught because their parents are in debt or they think you can just become rich overnight as an influencer. When it comes to handbags, I absolutely love Brahmin! They are so well made! If rather have a Brahmin over a LV or Chanel anyday. If you haven’t check them out! The problem of getting into niche perfume is the cost of samples. I need to watch many UA-cam videos and read all reviews and finally get some samples. It’s always hit or miss to like the sample. Then I need to research again lol 😂 and then order more samples. Omg all money that goes to sampling… finally I found one thing that I like. I like all this journey but cost a lot of money. I wish niche perfume can test out easily like we go to Sephora and sniff whatever we want. I still like niche perfumes. I wish I have my own shop sell all niche perfumes. That would be a dream
You would be surprised how many are in the department stores now! Don’t go to Sephora, go to Bloomingdale’s, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, or whatever stores are near you. The counters have changed!

I think extravagant packaging is extremely wasteful. It’s actually a plus in my book when perfume houses don’t go overboard with the presentation. I’d rather the money be spent on the quality of the fragrance.
