Today we breakdown the latest chapter of One Piece 1127 where Luffy and the group explore the long awaited island of giants, Elbaf! The Strawhats are separated yet again and it is our job to find Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Chopper! There is an imposter Sun God on the island and the Strawhats are currently on their way to the giant tree Yggdrasil! Many theories can be spawned from this newest chapter!

I think it is very intresting that they used the same paneling as Alabasta when they punched the cat. This makes me think that Vivi might make an appearance soon but I could over thinking it.
Them being the Og crew aswell makes me hope for vivi, would honestly be time and would fit if morgans drops her off at elbaf
If the sun god mentioned is a person and not an animal, the similitude could be with Crocodile too, like he was saw positively by the people of Alabasta before the end of the civil war.
The fan girl in me also wants to see Sanji use his sword and surprises Zoro that he knows how to use one. Sanjis and Namis fits are the best.
Norse mythology has reindeer caring for Yggdrasil
maybe the tree has an illness that threatens its life, and that's why the giant was afraid that the simple fire would destroy it. Maybe Chopper can help it with his medical knowledge or something.
This might be a stretch but the fact that sanji got a sword and zoro got glasses may foreshadow sanji training his armament haki and zoro training his observation haki

I wonder if Oda is tapping into some aboriginal culture, seeing as the people of Drum Island do show similarities, and is it possible that Chopper knows the honest truth about his DF all along? Perhaps he chooses to hide it still even to this day in fear that people will call him a monster. So he has been calling it simply the human human fruit all this time.

Being a reindeer initially he only really knows what was taught by hiriluk and kureha, and hiriluk got things wrong a lot of the time, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was more like when shanks told luffy it was the gum gum fruit, and luffy just never questioned it after

Chopper could be the forest God
Its cute its like a shout out to when luffy, ace, and sabo fought the sabertooth lion when they were kids. Luffy and his pirate brothers now fight a new lion.
Luffy, Zoro and Sanki killing the Ear god was really reminiscent of when Noland killed the Shandian's god
speaking of errors, in his last panel, luffy appears to have an axe, but on the immediately preceding two page spread, he appears to have a sword
I noticed this too and not many people noticed it. Everything may just not be as it seems atm.
This is funny because the sword Nami has in her back disappear all of the sudden in some moment of the chapter

I prefer to stick to my own theory that the reason everything in the village is made of Lego in this chapter and not when previously seen is because when we saw Elbaf in Big Mom's flashback that was well over 60 years in the past. So to me it makes more sense that in that time, the Giant's architecture and building material had evolved overtime, rather than it being the work of a Devil Fruit.
So far, my own theory that Elbaf will be a giant Legoland looks good, can't wait to see more of Elbaf!

@@shepheardsounds3342 that's true, but also remember that 60 years for a giant in OP is _nothing_ for them, maybe the equivalent of 5 years to a human. So maybe the Lego architecture is new and experimental. After all not all old buildings are demolished immediately as a new architectural style/building technique is developed/used.
Or alternatively, that Bar is specifically built for Shanks's crew to hang out in, as it didn't look to me that giants like Dorry or Brogy could fit in there.

I was feeling the OP nostalgia big time this chapter too - crazy new adventures for our crew with whacky outfits and animals. And it’s that very focus on the core crew that I think did it for me. Don’t get me wrong, chapters like 1125 are insane and awesome and hype and take over my brain for weeks at a time, and it speaks to the strength of Oda’s story and worldbuilding that chapters like that without our main characters can stand so tall and be so strong, but chapters like 1127 get to feel like a nostalgic homecoming by contrast. On both ends of the spectrum, we’re eating good as a fanbase

what if there are literally pieces of the island up in the tree, and the tree we see is just the top of a much larger tree, so we're way up in the air rn. Similar to how yggdrasil connects to the 9 realms, and mainland elbaf where the other strawhats are are way down below, like skypiea

I’m calling it now: Chopper is going to be revered as one of the island’s gods lmao considering the ear god was a bunny. Also, the cat turned into a lion - is it the sun god? Not only was it wearing a crown, as if they treat it like royalty, but we already have reference to lions = the sun with the thousand sunny!
This might be kind of a crazy theory, but there might be a chance the Sun God the giants are referring to was Pandora, the fire homie that was made by Mother Carmel. Assuming Big Mom did perish in the volcano on Wano, this would prove homies can live after the user passes on which means Pandora could potentially still be alive and is surviving off of the remaining lifespan Mother Carmel gave them. We also don't know what a awakened Soru Soru No Mi user looks like so maybe homies living after a user's death would be part of that awakening.
Not super on board but I do think Pandora will come back into play. I was thinking it came into play with creating the mother flame. With that name, I'm set on it's creation leading to chaos at some point in the narrative

Is this the first time we’ve seen Luffy do a partial gear 4th transformation? He seems to be using it as efficiently as gear 3 now, if that’s the case.

This chapter really got me smiling and happy when my car broke down before work and having todo a double shift. It felt ONE PIECE! The romance, the air of adventure of being in an unknown island, SH separated and already causing problems! No better way to start of the long awaited Elbaf arc.
Side note- Usopp is not having a good start to his arc hahaha it was funny seeing classic Usopp, Nami doing her thing. There’s so much more I wanna comment on but I’ll run the risk of my comment not getting picked lol
Legos are danish. Elbaf in general seem to be Scandinavia themed
Nami is supposed to be Swedish so maybe this is her arc in some way.
She did also feel like the protagonist in this particular chapter

Honestly at the end of the day, Elbaf is honestly gonna be disappointing if there isn’t a huge war. It is war land. Elbaf HAS to shape up to be one of the more action - power up arks.
Two things you missed is that Luffy doesn’t have his Strawhat and Nami doesn’t have her Log Pose. For some reason those items are missing.

This sun god imposter scenario may be the main plotline for this arc, ever since the discussions on who the main antagonist would be, I thought maybe a conflict would arise due to the Sun god nika, with either loki, odin or thor being the antagonist that would want to be the undisputed king of the elbafian gods, or the only elbafian god to be worshipped as all the other gods have been erased
I Remember you said in the spoilers video that "theres gods defeating other gods" this line is definitely going to stick moving foward,
Elbafians/Giants seem to have a tendancy of give the title of "god" when its appropriate...Luffy is not the only "god" on the SHs crew
considering they are out there naming big animals gods you could theoretically easily give every single strawhat a god title they are all so perfectly unique and strong besides well… a certain someone

We went into this unsure of who the antagonist is. Some thinking this is a lore dump mini arc. But with them having a Sun god already on Elbaf, it reminds me of Enel.

In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is an immense tree with branches that extend far into the heavens and with three supporting roots that extend far away into other locations. From this, I surmise that the Elbafian Yggdrasil is an immense tree (possibly a mangrove) whose roots consist of the Giant Jack (from Skypiea), the roots going down to Fishman Island, and another root in a yet to be identified location (perhaps that root is supporting Elbaf itself). I believe the tree which fishmen call "the sunlight tree, Eve" is actually Yggdrasil, since its brances extend up to the heavens thereby supplying sunlight to the depths of the blue sea. I believe that is also why the giants in that panel exclaimed, "...if the flames spread to Yggdrasil, then the country's done for!".

Chopper the Horned God. You know in Norse mythology there is a Stag named Eikthyrnir, it lives atop Yggdrasil in Odin's hall (most likely Valhalla) from its horns drips drops of some kind of liquid, (maybe water), into the well Hvergelmir, which is located in Helheim (The realm of the dishonourable dead). These drops created a lot of rivers.

I think the giants build their buildings out of legos because they are probably always fighting and destroying their buildings, so having them made of legos makes it easier and cheaper and faster to rebuild.
I think the reason choppers fruit is a mushroom is because of the theory that early evolved humans ate hallucinogenic mushrooms and that caused them to gain a higher level of consciousness or intelligence. Would make sense for a mushroom-shaped devil fruit to give you a higher level of intelligence/consciousness.

every outdoor panel in this chapter had a slight upward tilt and we never saw the ground outside the castle. i think this portion of Warland is at the top of Yggdrasil, where the royal palace and family reside, and the town is built on an island cloud. the bottom of the tree has been seen in the background of other panels depicting Elbaf, and it is absolutely massive. it doesn't seem to match with the thickness of the Yggdrasil we see in this chapter, especially seeing the top of it. this section of Warland is at the top of Yggdrasil on some island clouds, and Elbaf is down on ground level where the base of the tree is. this theory has been around a while and i think we're getting evidence for it in this chapter.

I still think Chopper was placed in a regular Elbaf reindeer heard. I can see a funny skit, where his kidnappers found him as a regular reindeer but rare because one he is a tiny one, two he's wearing clothes, and three he has a blue nose. Being an 8-point reindeer buck is a bonus. To a giant, Chopper might be a rarity amongst all the regular giant reindeer on Elbaf.
How am I certain that there's reindeer on Elbaf because hearding reindeer in Scandinavia (mostly Sweden) is common practice. For all we know, he could be in a reindeer ranch. Oda is likely gonna reference the shit out of Scandinavian culture and Norse Mythology. By the way, also there's the Norse mythology lore about reindeer as well. Some kind of reindeer god, maybe Beivve the reindeer goddess has a reference in One Piece and she aquires Chopper.
So my theory is they find him, and take him as a rare species of reindeer, so they put him in with the other giant reindeer. They find out that he can talk and transform, then they change their minds and send him to their version of Beivve . . . I'm diving way to deep here, but I feel like Chopper has a real predicament in the near future. The cultural and mythological reference on reindeer are crazy here and Oda might be really cooking, and . . . hopefully not Chopper.
This chapter was sooo hype, I feel like the faces were drawn extra expressive and that was great. As for choppers fruit, kind of been under the impression it's a mythical zoan, honestly. My guess is it's the hito hito - model Pan. Not sure, but the fits so far are peak as hell

I think Syv smiled when Usopp got slapped by the cat because he has more experience with it. Getting cat-gnawed and pawed, running and landing on the floor of Lego, being put as a shield, Usopp had it rough in this chapter. 😅😅😅

I feel like the kidnappers are just gonna be regular fodder grunts but are working for some lesser character that we saw at some point in Wano. It could be just some random daimyo that we haven’t met but I also wouldn’t be shocked if it was like Apoo or something like that and the reason he’s sending people out to kidnap people is for like a really out of nowhere obscure reason

Simple explanation - the Elbaf houses are made of legos because ( in our world ) LEGO was developed in Denmark, which is kinda Norse, so there's the drawn connection.

11:59 speaking of Chopper… in post time skip he’s never really shown in other forms except for the little one. I think in pre time skip he was more often depicted in his ‘human’ form… and in general during fights he transformed more.
As best I can remember, Adam tree is a type of tree, a big, strong, robust beast of a tree. Many different trees can be an Adam tree, but Yggdrasil is a specific one of the type of trees named Adam trees
i have a theory the cat from the castle is gargamel cat yes yes from the smurfs and like nami is the girl smurf and the rest are regular smurf also the first smurfs series was this: the Six Smurf Flute which is exactly how many straw hats there are in the lego castle luffy zoro usopp chopper sanji and nami
I think Yggdrasil is a different tree, honestly it seems too small for the Adam tree. I think when we get the map of Elbaf it’s gonna be absolutely massive wayyy bigger than wano
I saw a commentary on twitters where some made the comparisons between Usopp and Obelix from the Asterix and Obelisk cartoon and I will say their attributes are quite similar and the outfit Usopp is wearing is also similar as well

I don’t think there’s much else to say about Nami backstory. I think what made part of it so painful for her was that she lived this normal great life with Bellemere after being saved from the war and that’s what made Arlongs doings so painful.

What if the cat in Elbaf is Loki and he happens to have the forest god fruit? We can see the cat form but what if he can turn into other animals too? A god fruit passed down to kings of Elbaf for generations that can turn them into all kind of animals in forest.
I noticed such a small blooper where Luffy has a sword on his back while sitting on top of the cat & in the panel right under it during his close-up it becomes a plain wooden-handled axe.
Lego Wiki says Lego is a Danish company. A Nordic country along side Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. So this could just be Oda doing his research and having fun incorporating real world inspirations in a very Oda way.
