I love the smile on Annie's face when she hits the high note at the end!
Thank you for putting up these wonderful vintage live persomance videos of Annie and her band back in 1990. I often attended her concerts there beginning a few years after that. Her voice was and is still great. Now that Renaissance is back, here in the US, we get to hear Annie and the rest of the band performProgressive Rock at its best! Betsy K
I love how his tune picks up momentum as it goes, the changes and melody are great, and those notes at the end are great. Thanks for posting this.
I love it that Anne decided to change up a little and do a little soul. She still nails it.
I remember the joyous love attending a gig at the empire Liverpool, loved every moment to be here, there together, loved you then and now, peace, love and understanding all, in wonderland
Annie is so damn good.
I bought the CD at a used record shop. It was $9.00 and it was worth every cent of it.
Annie at her best!
My dad use to cut her hair back in the day
Sensacional! Gostei muito dessa interpretação que Blondie deu a essa bela música.
bought the CD 20 years ago for this track alone

Cover of a hit by the American soul group Rose Royce. I think the original is better (these aren't really good lyrics for Annie's voice), but it's better live than on the album. I have bother versions in my Annie/Renaissance playlist. Thanks for the upload!
One thing I don't like so much about this version is Annie lowered the key from the original Rose Royce song (ostensibly so she would be able to hit those spectacular high notes at the end). Now those high notes are great but we already know Annie can do it. On the other hand, lowering the key robs her a bit of the energy she needs in a song like this. If she sounds like she's not even trying, it's mainly because it's too much on the lower side of her range.
I only knew this song before from Rose Royce.
It is definitely not composed by Annie Haslam or Renaissance.
But who wrote it?
Anyway, Annie is the greatest singer of all time.
Now you can compare apples with apples; who sings the version better than anybody and she's not even trying.
0:34 And that guitarist is messing with his stuff again!
lovely LIVE performance, but I could do without the male band members singing along on the chorus.... They can't keep up with her. :-)
No sorry... Wrong !
Love Annie but this song doesn’t suit her
When Annie sings, you're in for a real treat!
