PART I - The Criss Cross Cushion as promised...... I had to split the video

- After I shared with you the cushion I had made inspired by an Instagram reel, a lot of you asked me to film making another one. It is not easy to film this, but I have done my best and I hope it inspires you to try. It is so easy, honestly.
The fabric should be cut to the same size as the cushion pad, plus an inch for the tucks and another one or two inches for the border, dependent on how wide you want it. It is very forgiving, so give it a go.
Thank you for watching. xx

So who needs UA-cam when we’ve got Helen ,is there anything you can’t do ???
Plenty! xx
So impressed, that thread broke four times and you never said you were frustrated til the last time!!! I would have been upset with #1, but really burned by #2. I think you did a great job with the tutorial, really explained what you were doing and why and showed it really well. Such an elegant looking cushion. The button box was such a nostalgic moment for me. My mom had a button box and only 2 out of the five of us girls were sewers. So much fun to go through that box to pick out something for a new outfit and remember what this or that button had been on. Thanks for that memory!!
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it xx
Thank you Helen for taking the time to explain your wonderful creations and inspiring me to do the same. You make it look so easy and it is so much better than looking at instructions in a book. The bread looked delicious and so simple to do. I remember going to my local bakers to buy live yeast how much easier to have it in a packet in the cupboard😁 instead. Thank you too for showing the packets so we know where to get them. The gammon looked very tasty too. Keep up the great work you are doing. 🥰
My pleasure, thank you xx
Just a little tip..
When I sew thick fabric like that I find using either an upholstery machine needle or a denim fabric machine needle works well as it is much sharper than an all purpose machine needle..😁
Pillow looks great..love the colour❣️
Thank you, it was a denim needle, I think it was the fire retardant coating that made it more difficult xx
I have hardly done any needlework since my husbands sudden passing, and you have inspired me and I have been doing bits and pieces as time is limited. Thank you for getting me going again. It’s so good for one.
I am so sorry for your loss. Making the cushion is so satisfying and quick, I hope you enjoy making it xx
You have the patience of a Saint Helen, it looks good, thankyou for the demo x
I really don't.... but thank you xx
Thank you so much for showing how to make the cushion x
My pleasure xx
I have to say you are gifted and always just at your own pace
Thank you Collette xx
Well done Helen, it looks great
Thank you xx
Top job Helen. Not a sewer myself but I can take inspiration from this. Looks amazing and a glorious colour. Thank you for sharing xx
Thanks so much 😊 xx
Love this. I will do this for my next cushion that I make.
It's so easy honestly xx
Really enjoyed the video. I always want to try out your suggestions but never seem to get round to it. Another train journey where you kept me entertained. 😊
Haha, that's great Sharon xx
❤
That looks so fantastic Helen. Will have a go at that I wasn’t expecting the Criss cross to be done so easily I had visions of you joining pieces of fabric together to get the Criss cross lol Thanks so much you explained it really well.
It is simple, honestly xx
Just finished your bread video too n yes it’s terrific ,now I probably won’t be trying that because a lump of Kerry gold butter would just make that heaven .Thankyou for your time , tips and information you bring in your channel .Take care Collette kelly again xxx
Thank you xx
I use a chopstick to poke out corners, it works quite well!☘️🇮🇪
Yes, it was just the thickness of the fabric for this one xx
Cushion looks professional! X
Ah, thank you xx
Well Helen as always nice to be with you. I as others here use the pins the other way and saw over them. I think the problem with the thread is both it and the fabric, its hard to go through. Thanks for a god tutorial ❤
I think it was a mix of the thread and the fire retardant coating on the fabric... xx
Fabulous. Thank you. Did I miss the end result? Didn't see how you put buttons on! Wish you were nearer me. Would love a sewing lesson or masterclass with you
Thank you. I think the button part must have cut off. I will load it separately xx
Dont forget if you need to have cover 2 inches smaller then you will need to stitch 1" on either side otherwise itll be too small!
Aww man... the video cut off right before you put the button on and I wanted to see that part.
I think I'll actually try a pillow like that and I don't even like to sew... although I can. 😆 Thanks for sharing ❤
I had an absolute nightmare with this video, for some reason. I will upload the button part separately. I have no idea why it cut off ..... xx
I'm sorry you had such a hard time with the video and thank you for doing another one to show that part. Love your channel ❤❤❤❤️
❤❤
Perhaps the tension could have been loosened a little as the fabric was so tough. Thats what i do. Def need to trim the poonty corners!
Thank you xx
t would have to be very forgiving if I was doing it!!
haha xx
Nice job on the bread and the cushion Helen!! I just wondered if it took you a class to learn your sewing machine? I did for mine but it's old now!! Lol
No, I've been sewing since I was about 12, so I can work out most things xx
Helen , I couldn’t find the bread video, please advise x
It's this one: ua-cam.com/video/3o5U5BVo034/v-deo.html. it got a bit complicated because they wouldn't load.... xx
Helen I do enjoy this series,,the bread looked delicious and your pillows are absolutely gorgeous..I couldn't do that in a million years..
Thank you Joan xx
