Understanding basics is the key. We were taught those at my Ala-matar "Seth G. S. Medical College, Parel, Mumbai". I am just passing on my knowledge through this channel so that everyone can learn, irrespective of 'where you are from'.

Can vacuum birth cause autism? My son is in the spectrum and has ADHD and processing disorders. The vacuum didn’t work so forceps and episiotomy were performed. It’s upsetting to think that his learning disability and autism could have been avoided

Studies show that lying on your back to give birth actually increases your risk of tearing, breaking your tailbone or pelvis, and needing vacuum assistance. It also makes the birthing process longer and more painful. Women giving birth on their back is unnatural. Historically, women have always given birth in an upright position via squatting. This is because gravity will naturally work with you, making it easier for you to push out the baby. Think about it, you wouldn't lie down on your back to poop, would you? Trying to poop while laying down would be much more strenuous.
