As a person with disabilities, I want to thank you for the update. Now all I have to do is move to England. lol. Even though I am a born and raised Floridian, I have never seen a narrow boat and we really don't have a suitible canal system. The heritage of your country is something to appreciate. And I have always loved your outtro. I looked up and down loaded trhe lovely music and your closing shots, from the originals to now have always reflected on what I imagine the beauty and peacfulness of canal life can be. Yes it has it's moments I'm sure, but overall, very nice indeed. Take care and God Bless, Paul from Florida.

OF COURSE this was an interesting update! Plenty of viewers will benefit from this couple's experience. The power lift beds are but one example that will aid movement through the boat and will remove a major source of frustration.

Good to see them again, and glad they are getting on so well. I believe that electric will be the way of the future for narrow boating because it just suits the use so well. That's not the case with some other applications at least for now but who knows what the future holds. Cheers, and thanks for the follow up David!

I am not into narrow boats specifically but it is my dream to someday own a tiny or small home. I have severe health issues and need to get a lot of surgery but finding disabled friendly tiny homes on the internet isn't that easy. So I loved this video a lot! Everyone has different needs but seeing these two lovely people planning a home according to their needs and now reflecting on their choices is still so encouraging and helpful!

Good to hear that Peter and Tina have found that their boat is performing really as expected, and they have certainly put her through her paces . Our boat is just a few boats away at Crick, so I know how enthusiastic they are to share their knowledge and findings on the benefit of an all-electric boat. It is so quiet, and Nautilus comes and goes with no audible sound. Lovely to see your excellent photography of our local cruising route.....it looks lovely through your camera and on a sunny day too!

What a wonderful boat - thank you for the share and update.
The way battery tec is moving the new batteries will be much cheaper, lighter and safer and will not have lithium in them.
From March to August 2023 due to price cuts and cheaper materials, building an EV car dipped below the cross-over point (in the Western World (In China it happened 3 years ago) it is now cheaper to manufacture/build than an internal combustion car.
So we could see this boat design being the norm due to the cost price in production and also the ongoing maintenance and cost of fuel and servicing.

The part one of this saga was a particular favorite of mine. not so much the accessibility issues it raised, though i am keen on that with every trip around the sun, but i am geeking out over the future of Narrowboating being diesel electric once someone put real effort in an effective muffler system for a generator.
All that being said , this couple is absolutely adorable

Being Norwegian we use Cinderella toilets a lot as we have cabins for weekends and holidays. They are the best about and if installed correctly are totally manageable. Thr6care the best option of all toilet choices on a NB by far

Oh that was great 😊 👍🏻 thanks for this. I'm a disabled person and I would like to spend longer times in the future on the canals, it's lovely to see how Tina and Peter have made it work for them and kept the greener energy option working for their long term cruises. The bed is a great innovation and gives them a full size bed. Love the cooker and hob, and those countertops are gorgeous. The loo system I'm not sure about though. I thought composting was going to be the way to go, (no pun intended) but incineration sounds an interesting idea. Maybe there would be a way to make the loo a hybrid so it can be used both ways though I suppose that could take extra plumbing and space. All in all such a nice boat and updating video. Thank you 👍🏻

Another great vlog and good to close the loop on the original article you did. Peters comments wrt the hoped for reduction in costs of electrification resonated with me.
As someone who has been involved in automotive electrification for over 10 years, I am not suprised at the high (excessive...?) prices being charged for electrification... I know its tiny volume, the technology (at least for narrowboats) is new and to some extent immature (why do people still use lead based battery chemistries..?) and that "early adopters" are prepared to pay more for a new technology, but I sincerely hope that electrification prices do come down (as volumes go up, it becomes the norm and the suppliers recover their inital investment) as this will be fundamental to increased adoption and the future of sustainable narrowboating.
