Meryl and Charlie are adorable together as partners,and friends.I love their skating, and the way they present themselves.But to demand they be a real life couple is bizarre.
It is also not like it is a secret. Ice skating fans have known for years that he was dating his fiance. It was announced after the 2010 Olympics. They kept it a secret until after 2010 because they were competing against each other and they thought it would just be too weird since they were both contenders for a medal. Meryl and Charlie ended up 2nd and Ben and Tanith ended up 4th (they won silver in 2006).
I think all of the questions finally got to them. A few days later in an interview conducted by Tony, Maks volunteered that he was not dating Meryl. He went on to say that whether he wanted to or not or whether they would in the future was nobody's business. His fans have been relentless on his Facebook page and I think "enough is enough" happened. Wish them both happiness in the future.
Meryl and Charlie are both such eloquent speakers. They know the proper things to say, and they never bash anyone unlike some other people we know. They have a lot of class which is one of the reasons why they have been so successful after Sochi. Best of luck to both of them!
