- After catching the Omni 772 at Fairford. We headed over to
Kemble to catch another Jumbo arriving for final time. This time it was BA G-BYGF. She was the youngest of the BA 747 fleet at mere 21 years. She had flown 90,897.4 hours, 11,075 flights, and over 45 million miles, with its last passenger flight operating to Larnaca on April 9th. She was due Kemble around 15:15pm originally. We left Fairford around 13:30 and after MD we headed to Kemble. Though she wasn’t on time. Delayed all the way until 16:30. She eventually set off for Kemble. She eventually came into view and did a lovely fly over setting up for 10 mile final to RWY26. She then banked around came into final, did a very gentle landing and came to a stop right in front of us.
Very sad to see another Queen leave the skies and join hear fellow BA Jumbo’s spending rest of their days here as they dismantled piece by piece. 😭😢😔. There should be at least 3 or 4 more coming to Kemble soon. Hopefully one will be the Negus fingers crossed 🤞.
Anyway hope you enjoy, sorry about missing the touch down slightly. Some people were in the way as usual.🙄🙄🤦♂️. But apart from that enjoy. I’ve added a bit if ATC for your entertainment. Like, comment, subscribe for more aviation content.
Shame in BA for scrapping these beautiful machines that have loads of life left even as freighters
It is really, hopefully the ones that have low circles on the airframe manage to escape.
Es muy triste ver estos aviones ser retirados. El Boeing 747 para mi siempre sera el rey de los cielos.😥😥😥😥
Nice capture, well done 👍
Cheers
Nice one mate!
Charlie Golf Aviation cheers bud
Great video, so sad to see them on their last flights. Do Kemble airport take visitors? I’ve heard they do but I’m not sure if it’s true.
Cheers. Yeah it is an emotional time for sure. In visitors what exactly do you mean? Flying in they do and people coming along by car yes.
Aviation In HD Thanks, that’s what I meant, by car. Thank for your help :)
Lovely video, sad topic. I did 102 flights last year primarily on BA and CX. Will do my sixth of 2020 in two weeks. The industry will continue to be decimated.
Cheers. Yes an end of era that’ll be very missed.😔
How do you find out when they are due to land? I'd like to view one before they are all gone.
