Seems weird that we are currently learning something in the 21st-century that has not been used since the 17th century. They wonder why people hate math and think that it’s senseless. Smh.
True, why not go direct to the point. We need to learn math used in the real world why complicate things for students? especially if it is just a minor subject or if the major doesn't really require math. The education system sucks
We learn things like this so we can explore how things were done over time and how the process developed to what is used today. By the way, you may need to go back to school bud, 17th century was the 1600's, well before Jefferson was even born. Smh.
My math teacher just told us "most of them will be useless but I want you guys to feel smart in math atleast once in your life" (I say that teachers actually impact the stuff you learn)
I think he just took a guess, and used 42 because it was slightly lower and also a whole number. The sum of the tutors was still less than 21, so he kept going lower until the sum was eventually 21. Then that represented the final apportionment.
Thank you, I was wondering about this Although I don't get why it favors large states, because it seems like after you refactor it you keep giving seats to smaller areas as well
What’s the purpose of all this??!! The number of people each legislator should represent right???!!! But what’s the reason or purpose of that???!!! What’s the bigger context???!!!
The purpose is literally explained in the first video in the series. To save you the trouble: it's not about how many people should be represented by one legislator, it's about how best to represent people given a limited number of slots. Like, say, in voting. Where all this shit comes to play in certain countries.

well i like history, and i just like to learn for fun

Because of our prof I thought this is so complicated but because of you I find it easy thanks
HOW DO YOU FIND THE MODIFIED DIVISOR
I think he just took a guess, and used 42 because it was slightly lower and also a whole number. The sum of the tutors was still less than 21, so he kept going lower until the sum was eventually 21. Then that represented the final apportionment.
the standard divisor for the second sample is supposed to be 12,561.404. but anyway, the method is still the same. :)
Thank God I have the same answer. I thought I was the only one who have this answer
I thought I was wrong 😅
I got what you did and had to set the modifies to 20.3
Your video is wrong, the standard divisor works out to be 21561.404, you swapped the 5 and 6.
These comments are irrationally negative. All of your apportionment videos are helping me pass my math class at uni! Thank you so much!!
Yeah I agree, these videos are great! By the way, how did the rest of your math class go?
It should be 21561.404 the standard divisor in the second example
Thank you, I was wondering about this
Although I don't get why it favors large states, because it seems like after you refactor it you keep giving seats to smaller areas as well
Jefferson's Method? More like "Jeffersuper Method!"
What’s the purpose of all this??!! The number of people each legislator should represent right???!!! But what’s the reason or purpose of that???!!! What’s the bigger context???!!!
There is no purpose. I think it’s really just for shits and giggles.

I wasn't able to attend our class about this topic. Thanks to you I am able to study before the exams tomorrow❤️
I know it's been several years, but how did the exam go?
SIR PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS HOPING FOR UPDATES
kinsa naa dire tungod kay ma'am cabatingan
This needs to be corrected. I n love the video I’ve learned so much, but the divisor is 21,561.4 not 651
how to find the modified divisor?
Thank you homie!
Do you not have the Adam's Method? :/
Great videos though!
I m lost i keep adding 122900/57 and i keep getting a different answer what am i doing wrong??
Same!! I literally used my calculator then my phone just to make sure. I was almost gaslighted by that answer lmao hopefully I read your comment.
Thanks very helpful all of it❤️
u are a god, thank u so much man
Is it possible that the modified divisor is in decimal?
yes
