We had the pleasure of attending SportsPro Live at the Oval on April 25-26 to highlight the #SportTogether Fund delivered by Beyond Sport! As well as having a presence during the event, we hosted a panel on how sport can support, uplift and rebuild communities facing humanitarian crises around the world with an incredible line-up of speakers including Beyond Sport Founder and Board Chair, Nick Keller, Girl Power Organisation Founder, Khalida Popal and Athlead CEO Kat Craig with Sport Together Fund Consulting Advisor Lucy Mills.
SportsPro spoke to Beyond Sport Executive Director, Fred Turner, on the Sport Together Fund, its creation and purpose and how people can support its efforts.
The world reached a sobering milestone in 2022: 100 million people forced flee their homes due to conflict, violence, human rights violations and persecution. That number has been rising steadily.
Beyond Sport launched the Sport Together Fund in 2022 to provide grants and capacity-building support to non-profit organizations, sports clubs and collectives who are using sport to improve the lives of people with refugee experiences, asylum seekers and the displaced.
