That’s no guard goose, that’s a gosling who is just as defenseless as the chicks. I’ve had hawks kill goslings that size. Save only the nicest mature geese and they would actively fight off hawks.
Hey to the community. My family and I ventured into backyard chickens for the first time this spring. We only got 5 from tractor supply. Unfortunately, they gave us the wrong chicken and we have raised a rooster as a pet.😊 I need to find him a new home. Do any of you know how I can do that? We live in the triad area of NC. Any sites where I can list him would be much appreciated. I tried fb marketplace but they told me I wasn't allowed to list him.
Good on you for getting fresh Colostrum; it has many benefits and thats why breast milk is rich in it. I would suggest maybe not heating the milk up; milk this fresh is unlikely to need to be heated and you are baking it anyways. The double heat is likely to neutralize many of the health benefits. Not medical advice obviously; do as you see fit for your family.

Get black chickens. Hawks and eagles hate crows. Crows torture hawks and eagles. If you have black chickens in with your babies, the hawks and eagles will think there are crows in there and leave them alone.
For the custard, try this, add vanilla + Limon our orange zest, to that mixture and more Honey. Cook over low heat, until it starts to thicken. Then put it on small bowls, and place them in the oven until they ready. Bon appetit. 🇵🇹🇵🇹
Maybe if He quit calling it colostrum custard, or stud muffin burgers the kids might want to eat it. He talks to much. Just keep quite and serve the food. If they eat it they eat it but if they don't, they don't. Just let them eat calmly and quite.
They have no problem with stuff muffin burgers. They were raised this way. They have no issue with what he calls it. If they don’t like the taste they just don’t like it.
I’m certain that the Rhodes don’t read comment but do any of you folks know where I can get the same mug that Rabecca uses with that cool wood lid with the straw?
The colostrum custard would make my stomach cramp. Too much fat for me. Funny that the kids won’t eat it. That hawk was very brazen with the turkeys. The goose is not doing a good job.
Lots of folks these days don't like custard. Theyre used to other processed foods. I always enjoyed custard. It was one of the few things that didn't cramp my stomach. Looks good, Justin. Jess at Roots & Refuge says, "never put the birds under a tree, the hawks get them!"
That makes sense. Then again, Jess has a lot of open space without trees.

Crack your eggs on the countertop, not the edge of a bowl. This prevents egg shells in your bowl 🥣 😋 👌
