HI Adit, I agree with your order of preference for buying guitar: 1. Playability 2. Sound 3. Price 4. Looks If the price of the guitar that you actually like does not fit your budget. wait, save and then buy. I have now bought 2 guitars so far, and both times I did not buy the guitar that I had in mind. First time as a beginner, I was all about the brand. I wanted a Yamaha or Fender and my budget was 12-15k. I spent a couple of hours at Bhargava's Music in Bandra and had the sales guy audition a few of them. And I just kept coming back to an unbranded guitar that sounded amazing, and had great build quality. At this price range, the Yamaha and Fenders are just not that well made. Funny enough, the sales guy, seeing that I was a beginner, kept trying to sell me a much cheaper guitar in about the 7-8k range. But the build quality was much worse ofcourse. My opinion was that I want to buy something that I appreciate. Not something that I have no interest in holding. That would encourage me to pick up the guitar every time I see it. I still love the unbranded guitar after about 8 years now. Strictly in my opinion, beginner should budget for about 12-15k for their first guitar. Second time, now an intermediate player, I had a budget of around 20k and was looking for a solid top. This time again I went in looking to buy a Yamaha. But after playing a few guitars, I just gravitated towards a beautiful Fender CD140SCE. About 3 years back (2017) it cost me 23k with discounts... I think a fantastic deal for a solid top. In recent years, I had the privilege of frequenting Guitar Center in the US, and trying out the real premium guitars. And I wanted to see for a budget of about $2000 (1.5 lac) what I could get. Ofcourse, I wanted to like a Taylor or a Martin or a Gibson. While they were great, I did not personally like any of them... I ended up really like a brand called Breedlove for its perfectly balanced bass and highs. And similar models from Breedlove were at least 600 - 1000$ cheaper than Taylors or Martins. I also realized through all these experiences that even though I don't like the looks of a dreadnaught, I absolutely love the sound over all other shapes. Bottomline, don't go by reviews only. You have to listen to a few guitars. If you play, try them .. spend a couple of hours at the store. Reviews are great to gain awareness about brands/models and create a shortlist.
Cort feels loud enough, while Yamaha is on the "soft" side. I have Cort AD810, so I maybe a little biased, but at the end of the day I feel it has a better overall sound than F310. Cheers 🎈

I had a Cort AD 810 for a few months and to be honest it was just loud and the worst part is that it had a rattling sound to it ( check 19:49 and 21:00 of this video and you will understand what i mean), which was a deal breaker for me. I had checked other forums highlighting the same concern. It had to be tuned very often. Again, not a big issue. The overall sound wasn’t satisfying. Had to sell it off for Yamaha F310. It might not be that loud but has certain satisfaction to it. The sound is well balanced and more on the warmer side. The string spacing is a little less but unnoticeable. But, overall the sound quality and, like the guy said, playability is better. The build quality is much better than Cort. Did i mention that F310 is music to ears, literally.
Agree with you... on the Cort guitar you have bass + treble (mid missing) loud sound , & you can also expect the buzzing sound effect on this guitar. Cort is obviously a good guitar for this price, but my personal favourite is Yamaha f310 for it's overall versatile performance & unique natural sound quality ❤️

I bought yamaha f370 for brand value. I tested both cort and yamaha the same time but bought yamaha. I faced all the problems later on which you said. For me cort was a better choice and i have it now
Thanks for an excellent review, Adit! The technical specifications gave a slight hint of the differences in sound one would expect, but I was surprised that the differences were so stark! It was almost as if the mic placement was amiss for the Yamaha or my headphones were biased, but the Cort sounded so much better! A plausible explanation would be that the differences were attributable only to the different set of strings on the two guitars (which doesn't make the sound comparison very fair). However, if we were to assume all things equal, the Cort is a clear winner at least on the sound front, and from your review, also on playability. A quick question: Did you get any chance to check the built-in pick-ups on the electro-acoustic versions of these guitars? Or based on your experience, do you generally prefer Yamaha's pickups over Cort, or vice versa? Or do they all fade in comparison to Fishman?
Hi. Apologies - I found this a bit hard to follow - because of the background music, and fast speaking. But what I could hear about playability - fantastic and so infrequently addressed. Things like nut width, neck, strings - awesome and thank you. I'm having an argument with a shop over a Cort - "acceptable " imperfections - knot in wood on neck, small finish imperfections... I was told "it passed the factory's quality control". I'm shocked - it's a Cort GA MY Bevel. What, in your opinion, are "acceptable imperfections"? Thanks again.

Being a beginner I went through a couple of your videos to understand the basics of Guitar, exercises to do, which guitar to buy etc. I do appreciate your in-depth knowledge about guitars but I would only like to share a few constructive feedbacks which might help you capture more audiences & beginners to be specific. 1. If the Background music is avoided it will give more relevance & importance to your content and exact knowledge that you want to share. Currently, the background sound is acting as a disturbance & not as a cool factor. 2. This might be considered as a personal opinion but after watching a couple of other People's videos, I found yours to be a mix and match of more casual conversation and the actual knowledge. To be specific, I forward your video to find relevant content and make sense out of it. For eg: a 30 min video can be made into a good 10 min video if it only has relevant content. I hope this helps you gain a bit more audience while you continue to play and teach us awesome guitar lessons with great knowledge as well. Cheers and Goodluck !

I see what you said… I bought the guitar based on sound… I liked warm sounding guitar and cort was great since it came with truss rod…on playability I just checked on the action which was good for me… but now later I had trouble playing barr chord and that I started with the dreaded F Major chord. But then time went by and I changed strings to narrower gauge and its been better than before… and lastly I am more of a fan of matte satin finish. I wish I came across your channel earlier yet no regrets I can play something than nothing and hope to improve with your videos even more. Great content hands down. Sir I just buy cort (ad810) .. my preference was f310 ,but it was manufactured in India from last 6-7months ,and they compromise a lot with a wood quality... That's why I went with cort... Please guide me weather I m wrong or right.
Sir when I got to the guitar market for buying f280 the shopkeeper asked me not to buy Yamaha f280 as it is dreadnought and it is played by an experienced guitarist and he also said that I would not able to perform solo with it so I should go with a cutaway guitar like crusader guitar(He also told that Yamaha is only giving 1-year warranty whereas other brands are giving 3 years warranty). What should I do should I stick with Yamaha f280 or buy any other guitar? plz help me
I'd recommend Cort AD880 it's a model above AD810. It's looks more ergonomic & sounds better than both F310 & AD810. Costs 11k but you can buy it on discounts for 2-3k less.
My fingers are small in length. Which should i get for myself. ? And soundbox width makes me little bit uncomfortable to hold. As i tried one of my friends OEM GUITAR. I think the variation in the length of both guitars occurs due to their Head shapes.. In the case of Cort the head is kind of V-shaped Outwards and in Yamaha, The head is V-shaped inwards..

action is something which you have to set up manually by yourself or someone else according to your comfort dome prefer super low and sone prefer medium action by adjusting the truss rod

Except for fingerstyle, Yamaha F310 will be the right choice always.
I'd recommend Cort AD880 it's a model above AD810.
It's looks more ergonomic & sounds better than both F310 & AD810.
Costs 11k but you can buy it on discounts for 2-3k less.

I think the variation in the length of both guitars occurs due to their Head shapes.. In the case of Cort the head is kind of V-shaped Outwards and in Yamaha, The head is V-shaped inwards..
Is Grail better than Yamaha or Cort. If I talk about Model i.e. Grail D210C vs Yamaha F310 or 280 vs Cort AD810. Please let me know sir. Waiting for your revert.. !!

Hii ! Adit, I have watched about 4-5 videos but I didn't found anything related to action play of a guitar.. that is the spacing between strings and fret board.. please include that parameter also.. it's very important.. nice videos btw !
action is something which you have to set up manually by yourself or someone else according to your comfort dome prefer super low and sone prefer medium action by adjusting the truss rod

Sound and Look wise, Cort 🤗is way better especially in Lows and Mids than Yamaha 310. Those commenting here Yamaha 310 is better are simply saying because they have it.

Fender 105ce cutaway, with fishman pickup its a nice guitar... only problem is painted fretboard, chip up the paint when use regularly.
