Kada Prasad or Atta ka Halwa is a rich dessert prepared in Desi Ghee (clarified butter) and offered to all who visit & pray in a Gurudwara. It is made of whole wheat flour and the ratio is 1:1:1:2 :: Ghee:Atta:Sugar: Water.

I have learned to cook almost every Indian dish since she passed away, but never could find the recipe for this Halwa. I will give it a try. Thanks again for the accurate measurement.

You can never get the exact same taste as the gurdwara sahib. doesn't matter How much well you try. The peace and sweetness of gurbani is the real essence in the kadah prasad.

Just prepared it. It was sooper easy to make just took 10 to 15 minutes. I just put even less sugar & ghee. Came out perfect. Thanks 4 the recipe. Tastes just like the one I had in a gurudwara :)

I have a toddler at home who has a big sweet tooth, today he asked for halwa and I thought of making kada prasad by taking your recipe. The halwa turned out amazing and literally same gurudwara wala flavour with all simple ingredients. Your recipes are really authentic and easy. I also remember that I used to go to gurudwara only to get this atte ka halwa. It used to so wow. Every time I tasted, the taste remains the same. Second was the langar. So beautifully cooked and it used to be delicious. I still remember the day I went to amrister golden temple such a memorable journey.

Suggestion for you Kunal ji -Yehi tarike se hum ghar pe banate hain pr ek cheej mene dekhi hai,kunal ji k aap jaise hi sugar wala paani sike hue aaten me milate ho waise hi use dhak dete hain dhakkan se,to uski jo steam hai usse prasad k swaad me or bhi acchi sugandhi aayegi (ghee ki)... Or aap khule me hi sugar ka pani jaise hi daalte hain steam nikal jane se ghee ki sugandhi bhi thodi bahot udjati hai ... Aap ekbaar... Dhakkan dhak kar bhi try kijiyega...ye prasadi muje bachpan se bhot hi pasand hai.. Meri maa ko nbanate dekhk me sikh gayi,bachpan se hi bnati hun par samaj me aaya tabse Jo bhi halwa,shira,prasaad banati hun to use dhakti jarur hun...Kunal ji Aaapko bura laga ho to maafi chahti hun... Mere village m isko lapsi bolte hain ...jo bina daant wale log enjoy karte hain.but y maine Delhi k gurudware m khaya hai it's prashad so nothing can beat the taste. ..aapko bhi Guru purb ki hardik badhai parivar ko bhi ..subh guru purb.
It's not called lapsi, because lapsi is a sweet dish made by wheat daliya, not by wheat flour

First time I got to taste it when we were visiting golden temple Amritsar on occasion, so yummy and delicious my hands got coated with beautiful taste of always with enormous amount of ghee,wow how yummy can always get,loved it. we also have this in iran too. we use rose water as part of our ingredience. we also have another type called halwa ardeh, or halwa shekari, witch is a tahini bassed version. its nice to see in terms of food how we are connected. sure, mughal rule has braught some of our culture to india, but still we are linked together somehow. thank you so much kunal for this video, hello from your iranian friend from Sweden: Nicki.
Actually a lot of Iran's influence came way before the Mughals. And India's influence on Iran is abundant too. India had friendly relations with the Iran region from as far back as 5000-7000 years back and is mentioned in Mahabharata and Ramayana.
The Achaemenid empire under Cyrus the Great, the Parthians, the Sasanians - all these ancient empires worked with India for trade, royal marriages, education etc. With it came the cuisine as well.
Then when the Zoroastrian Parsis (later came Iranis) who came as refugees to India escaping persecution, they brought with them more cuisine.
Just a little history ☺️ to say that it wasn't the Mughals first. Before that there was a lot of friendly beneficial relationships.
