I had a set of diamond bags made by the previous owners and lasted 12 years and went badger as I was able customise to my specification like mor open pockets for tool slots and an open pocket on the side I use for a square or pad saw. The biggest advantage to these type of belts is you can simply by a belt that fits you to your waist. Not an oversized belt that is no good when you have 30 inch waist
Might buy one fer the missus. She's into "the dominant side". Pretty sure you could accommodate a rolling pin, heated hair curlers, thumb screws and the electro-shock therapy kit into one of those babies. Might just weigh her down long enough for me to run to my man-cave, where the spiders keep her at bay.
My old work mate had a diamond back and after 3 years its being held together with cable ties and rivets he installed himself. I haven't got either of these but going by what I've seen online, id have to say the badger tool belt looks just that bit better. But I don't think either is worth the money.
My bradawls have a chisel point so it cuts the grain rather than splitting the grain , on small joinery jobs the small screws used tend not to strip out as much over time . the vest looks good but might become restrictive in certain scenarios .
Years ago I was working converting a warehouse into a bathroom showroom, one day the owner came in wearing two holsters with six shooters, a pair of chaps a hat and sheriff badge and announced “ if you work with cowboys it’s good to look like one”.😅 nothing to do with tool belts I know, but we had a laugh..
The Aussies make a great belt system called buckeroo. I brought a pouch home with me 12 years ago and still going strong. I wish I brought the whole rig now.
I'm wearing a snickers tool vest for the last 4 years now, will never wear a nail bag again. lower back problems gone, can't carry as much stuff in the pockets but can walk like normal with no weight on the hips
A Bradawl is a handy tool. I made a longer one nice sharp point, easy to hold and mark with. Great video diamondback looks great, pouches hanging from your hips gets uncomfortable after awhile.
I have looked up Diamond back in Australia. It is available but only if the bank approves the second mortgage. No doubt really good gear but out of my league.
The Diamond back is a Rattle Snake and thats how my toolbelt sounds as I move ,rattling all ove rthe place ,I wonder if that was the reason for his choice of name ?? ask him Robin .
Don't get me wrong, I do like the layout of diamondback nail bags....but, I need to wear out my Occidental bags first before I can justify the cost of a new set of bags....
@@totalprecisioncarpenter5922 Hands down Yes!! the leather bags are heavier, longer to break in....mine are 18 yrs old and are just as strong as the day I bought them. Oxy lites are nylon and offer a little less weight with all the same features...you can get right handed or left handed bags, they are made to be hand specific tool holders.... get a high mount hammer loop, strong hold suspenders and the padded belt or hip pads they now have... sticker shock? yes...but these would be the last set you'll buy...unless they were stolen....I just can't say enough about them...they distribute the weight and are amazingly comfortable for all day wear. :)
Lol😂 why would you want to walk around with all that hanging round your waste all day. Getting ridiculous. But what ever floats your bout I guess. Good program’s by the way.
Oh thanks, I was going to say I use mine to maybe, make a new hole on my bum bag belt 😮 or mark a spot on my car bumper for drilling or the wall to mark screw holes for a shelf that was to be used for packets of nappies……then I thought no..
Diamond backs cannot hold nail guns properly. Belt is amazing other than that but jesus christ is that one of the most annoying things in the world. Id avoid purely for that reason

sounds like you got a ball and chain on your belt!
Well done Ed, great interviewing, your a natural. You’ll be taking over from the old boy soon 😂😂
He will surpass me in no time!! He is a natural, it was Ed who forged the great relationship that we have with Connor and the Diamondback family!!
Well impressed with Ed’s interviewing, he talks very naturally, picking up a few tips from you along the way. Keep up the great work the two of ye 👍👍
Thank you mate! I’ve got a way to go before I’m as good as the big man!

Iv got an oxidental leather belt and puches. Dear but will last forever literally. They even do left and right handed ones !

I used to have this thing that could accommodate 90%of my tools...shame he packed up and left, got to do it myself now.

Crap with the hammer holder in the back
Trouble with buckeroo belts is if you overload them, they throw out all your tools ! 😉

Robin you're a true sales man 😂😂😂🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great kit !!!
When my dad died he left me an awl. A stately home - called bugger hall! 😂😂
Doesn’t really make sense does it
Mine too! 😂😂😂😂
Weaver tool bags/belts are on the horizon right now...made right here in my home state of Ohio, USA

Easily made from a ruined screwdriver !
@@thetessellater9163 that's what I did. Great tool

That is odd I need a new tool belt and just searched robin clevett tool belt and the stars aligned
The badger tool belt is the daddy of them all!!!
You can get tuberculosis off badgers.
20 years of heavy tool belts has literally deformed my hip, I have a permanent indent on my left side
I love my diamondback, hate the price!!
Nooice!

You think diamondback is expensive try looking at Atlas 46 stuff £££ they have a distributor in the uk

Iv used makita and after years it’s starting to finally break down. I’m considering the occidental would you recommend it?

@@totalprecisioncarpenter5922 look up essential craftsman tool belts he does a good review on them
“what the hell is a bradawl?” Oh dear….
Diamondback is ok. Badger is way better!
Man knows his belts 👍🏽
Do they do one with a ‘wee’ pouch, that would save me a lot of wasted time
That's you and Ed sorted for toolbelts for life now, eh ? Blatant opportunistic capitalism ! 😉
Welcome to UA-cam!!!
