How far is too far when it comes to editing your photos? Where do you draw the line? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments :-)

It all depends on what you're using the photo for actually. I used to work for a newspaper and I had to be really careful how much touchup work I would do to our photographer's photographs due to the fact too much would be considered a "graphic illustration" as to a photograph. A lot of companies that deal in editorial publications will have these guidelines already set. However if you're doing this for your own personal reason or it was requested by a client I see nothing wrong with taking it this far to create the illusion.

Excellent tuition and this actually works. I tried the "Winter" Neural filter on photoshop and that is terrible, insisting on introducing Fir trees everywhere! Your suggestion is far superior, Thank you.

This is a perfect tutorial without a need to use additional photos or brushes.
The only problem is, the photo I'm using this effect shows my face so it would be great if you could post a tutorial on "how to frostbite yourself"!
