Thanks for showing the 7520 it's the largest JD tractor I drove I think it's been years ago since I did & we had a 50' field cultivator behind it but I didn't know the specs on it. I did run an IH 4568 working a lot of acres . Thanks for your great videos showing us the older equipment . Brings back several good memories
The 8440 is a great looking tractor! It was my first 4WD in 1/64 scale, as the 6588s disappeared off of the shelves before I could get one. Still have it. A few years after that, my Red Power was put in a box, in favor of the new TW Series from Ford. Even as a kid, I wasn't happy with the Case-IH merger. LoL!
Sorry for 2 comments, but wanted to add, we still run a 4240 my grandfather bought new in 1981 from JP Halpin & Sons. It was our main tillage tractor as a boy. He bought it with a new JD 215 tandem disk. We no longer own the disk, and the tractor is on light duty cutting hay. We only put about 30-40 hours/yr on it. OG paint and still shiny. As a boy I remember my grandfather waxing it frequently. It was his pride and joy.
Wow that’s great. Halpins was the best. I enjoyed going their as a kid. I still have Halpins sales literature. Does your 4240 have a Halpins Sales & Service decal? If so email me at toytractortimes@gmail.com
The 8440 was my grandpas first brand new tractor he ever bought. I would take rides in it with him as much as I could. We still use it to this day but for lighter duty application. My uncle just got done putting all new upholstery in it to bring the inside back to life. Great video Jason!

They were an improvement over the 30 series. I inherited a 7520 from my dad when I started out on my own. I pretty simple old tractor.

That 8440 was a real workhorse back then and that implement combo does a real nice job in making a seed bed.
The 8440 was big farming in the 70’s. The Krause team did an excellent job in smoothing out the plow furrows.

Soon to be 45 years 😬
Will the next video be the 6030 and 7520 plowing. Also did you get any video of when you were running the 6030
There was a 4320, 6030 and 7520 plowing. A Case 1370 cultimulching and the 8440 disking. It was a good day in the field.
@@bigtractorpower I forgot about the 4320 and there wasn’t much of the 1370 in farming sumbitchs video so I also forgot about it

The cost of the 8440 is certainly less then a comparable 4850. If field work is the only chore, the initial costs of the 8440 appear a better option.
