Leonlx Oh comeon, 150 os very cheap, and if you get like 4 wins you win a pack and most of the times 50 Gold, so it's the same of buying pack, and if play for some time 4 wins is very easy
Totally agree, so many broken and uber powerful win-more cards are really hurting the Arena. I remember how with good play and a bit of luck it used to be possible to take a mediocre deck to high wins (even 12 wins sometimes) but now if you get past 6-7 wins (and sometimes even earlier) you run into a bunch of those cards and simply can't compete.
The secret to winning at arena seems to be to get lucky enough to draft something rare enough that no one can afford to play around it. Deathwing, etc.
You can play around Meteor by positioning your higher health minions at the far ends of the board and your 1-2 hp minions in the middle. You can't play around Shadowreaper Anduin by positioning your higher attack minions at the far ends of the board and your 1-2 atk minions in the middle.
Kripp, honestly I only got into watching your content very recently, like a little more than a week ago I clicked on one of your salt compilations, they're hilarious but rightfully so. I genuinely say/react in a lot of the ways that you do when I play arena and its just a good time. Great content please keep it up. In terms of this stuff, I would also say a lot of these same things, especially bonemare and the other premium commons. If I were to add a card to the list you've put forth so far it would be the Hunter death knight card. If you happen to play it on a turn where you're not only on curve but have enough mana to build a beast for the same turn, you're fucking set. Most likely at that stage of the game, your death knight battlecry has probably crippled their board state badly, if not wiped it out completely and then you have an infinite supply of 6/6 rhinos with charge or windfury.
The problem I have with Rogues in Arena is that the Combo tag is basically just battle cry. Blizzard keeps designing combo cards with the thought that they sometimes won't go off even though they always will. As a result the minions are always overstatted. Can you imagine a 3 mana 3,3 with a battle cry of deal 2 damage to any target? How about a 5 mana 3,4 with a built in assassinate? My Paladin deck had everything it needed to win twelve games down to the death knight. It won four games before it met three consecutive Rogues.
Good video dude, pretty much nails why I had to stop playing a month or so ago. Arena was my preferred game type and it is now absolutely win-more/discover RNG. Still enjoy your videos though. Sad times, Gwent it is then!
You can play around meteor. I feel like the nature of the card makes it so that you can play around it without losing much (if anything) since positioning doesn't often matter otherwise. It doesn't really fall into the "absolutely nothing you can do about it" category like Kripp's list. This is just my opinion though, don''t get me wrong I hate Meteor too.
PoonDestruction Don't get me wrong too, I love cards like Defile but Meteor just destroys a minion anyway (99% of the time) and still damages minions next to it. And if you manage to get one from Glyph, you gain to do so much next turn... Defile is good becouse it really need situation to shine, Meteor does something good anyway.
Not really, because in that case it becomes a 6 mana assassinate, which is more than fair. Getting one from a glyph is bullshit, but that is why glyph should be removed. Having meteor in the game makes minion position key, which adds another level of skill to the game. Saying we should just ban every good card from arena is stupid, it's fine to keep good cards there, just not cards that will insta win you the game
My nama Jeff It isn't so much the 6 mana Assassinate that makes people hate it. It's the adjacent damage on top of it. Multiply this feeling by x10 for a Glyph Meteor.
Mage in general is just frustrating, since every random card generator she has adds a playable card. I don't think there is any mage spell which you just can't play. You don't end up like Warlock or Hunter with a Demon/Beast only target card. So Meteor in for example a Druid deck would be fine, but thanks to Mage having acess to so many other damage spells, it is easily a board clear or just game swinger.
Turn 1 coins Prince - Shadowstep - Prince - GG Game is fair and ballanced tho. And yes, you *can* win from that position but your chances are in the single digits while the chances for this play to happen feel like 50%.
Gingerino Kripperino Hey you imposter! Freeze! I was born 17 minutes after the almighty Kripparrian became a carrot. I AM THE ONLY TRUE GINGERINO. Everything else is a mere fake of me which has been created later on.
Agree on nearly every card except vilespine. It's good, but not as bonkers as other cards. My biggest problem with arena atm is, you don't wanna play any class except mage, rouge or priest. Everything else feels bad, maybe paladin is solid, but thats kinda it. Mage in total just has waaaay too much removal and cards that “replace themselves“. That brings me to my next issue: Too many dang cards that have deathrattle draw/discover/get or battlecry draw/discover/get. Every card seems to add some kinda value or replacement. It doesn't feel anymore like who has more skill to rng who has more card advantage cards.
The best way to balance arena would be to ban death knights bc they are too strong in arena, and then have a guaranteed number of every rarity. Ex- first pick is always between 3 legends, second through fifth is always epic, 6th through 16th is always rare, 17th through 29th always common, and last pick is always between the 3 most recent class legends. This would reward you for paying attention to what's been played and make risk assessment more rewarding.
kripp i after with u on every card except deathspeaker its basically just a "give divine shield" effect and seems frustrating only because its neutral, but that makes it actually balanced since every class can get that win-more tempo boost and Not only Paladin with the 2mana 2/2
Monthly rotating "some cards" from wild back into standard, with the first month or 2 after a new set being what we know as standard now. Change like that might make me check out the game again
You play around Vilespine as if you play around every Rogue hard removal: by baiting it out with a lesser stronger minion or go wide since Rogue lacks AoEs. Been doing that and it mattered specifically in multiple games. Basically you're not playing around Vilespine specifically, but any hard removals in general since Rogues are packed with them. I just don't play around the 2nd hard removal. I think in almost 90% of rogue decks they'll have some kind of class-specific hard removal. So playing around it in high wins is completely acceptable and is what you should be doing.
I agree with all of them but vilespine. it's a very good card but still an epic and a class card ... you dont see it THAT often and it feels less frustrating or game winning than bullshit like Bonemare. And it is not just another RNG shitfest like Glyph or a complete op card like UI
Feel like Kripp explained in great detail, why it sucks to run into Vilespine in arena. It's so rare that it's statistically always wrong to play around it, especially since you can't afford to hold back your tempo against Rogue. But then the effect of Vilespine is so crushing when you don't play around it, that you can lose an otherwise guaranteed victory. That's the staple of bad card design: "Ignore this card exists and hope it doesn't show up"
So, what cards in Rogue make the class actually worth playing if you remove Vilespine? I think it would most be strictly worse Warlock, as all the Rogue removal is 2-for-1-ing yourself most of the time.
do you know about the rogue hero power ? not only about class cards but also about having the best hero power in arena. And some crazy tempo cards like sap or backstab.
True, Rogues don't get many high value cards, but they compensate with the extreme Tempo advantage cards like Backstab, Eviscerate and Sap offer. That enables Arena Rogues to chose a very aggressive gameplan, since it's hard to establish a lead on the board, while also giving an opportunity to draft greedy curves because they can just swing the tempo back in their favour whenever they botch their early draws
MC Tech is my #1 by a landslide. The monitor-smashingly-unfun of when it wrecks me sooooo much outweighs the fun of when I play it. No card with such negative net fun should still be in arena.
Video ‘ s name : Cards I ‘d ban from Arena Game : Hearthstone Game mode : Arena Review : Kripparian being salty because of Bonemare , Cobalt Scalebane , Deathspeaker ,Fair 10 mana card , Vicious Fledgling, Also a little mention to Frost Lich Jaina , ShadowReaper Anduin , Kabal Talonpriest , Vilespine Slayer , some 2 mana bullshit
Some of these underlying problems with the put it in epic so it don't break arena, is be cause of the rarity occurrence bonus yo y can snag multiple copies of power game swinging epics (ie. Dragonfire, vilespine, and primordial glyph) and high roll to the top ranks. You can't make epics occur any less or some of these specific cards, removing them outright helps simplify the overall mindset of arena. It's not suppose to be like some crazy broken constructed game where you have to play around such ludicrous cards.
What he meant when he said was that Bog Creeper is always really good, however Bonemare is absolute garbage if your board is empty. He just underestimated how often people would have something on the board on turn 7.
Despite all these issues, skill in arena is still just as important as ever. The win rates of the top players are about the same as they've always been.
Making the correct choice and still sometimes lose is not something you can get away from in a card game... If you get 60/40 is great odds and the correct play but you still lose 4/10 times...
And on the same day that Vicious Fledgling got banned from arena. How unfortunate that he won't live to see himself get preempted by _blizzard_ of all things.
Don Korb Yeah it is true but Rania said on her Twitter that it should be a fairly simple surgery and she also had a picture of Kripp in the hospital ropes playing Hearthstone so I presume it should not be that much of a problem. I'm still hoping for a good recovery and that rngesus will at least help Kripp in real life not like in Hearthstone
I had appendicitis too it sucks a lot but if the surgery (which lasts only an hour) is succesfull you will recover very soon and be back home in a few days
Oh shit, appendicitis is such a bitch, especially since the apendix is literally the most useless thing in the world. Like that thing almost killed (I think?) my mother because it went under the radar until she started showing severe symptoms. Like wtf that thing is just chilling in your body and then it starts poisoning you like wtf. Hope Kripp recovers completely and the surgery causes no issues.
Krip: cries that blizzard makes filler cards in sets Blizzard: ok, let's make a set that makes every card at least somewhat playable. Krip: cries every card is good in arena. Me: what the hell do you want? Make up your mind!
I feel like bloodreaver guldan should be on this list also. If a warlock even manages to stabilise 1 turn like mage, and they play this, its mostly game over... 3 dmagae life steal hero power in late game is so hard to out value unless you have 5 minions on board and he has 0
Most cards are top 10-15 in this ranking hsreplay.net/cards/#gameType=ARENA , in each individual class tab. Primordial glyph is lower down the line, still with a solid 56~% winrate. Great analysis, backed by numbers. Stats don't lie, we are getting sick of win-more cards
Statistically primordial glyph isn't going to have as high of a win rate because there are going to be times when all three of your options suck and you will lose, but Kripp mentioned it because the times when the perfect spell is discovered and played at a discount basically puts you into a scenario that no matter how much better you play then your opponent you still lose and that is just a bad experience.
Good news guys: you can't draft Vicious Fledgeling anymore now in Arena
RusherLennart good thing I have a deck with two of them lol
I'm back
monkaS DIE
Such an useless comment, dude.
Uselessrino Kripperino I play Pokémon GO every day
LOL how ironic. They banned Vicious Fledgling a few minutes ago.
Tero really?
Yeah but bonemare and frankeinstein Jaina is still there
Not ironic, but prophetic
source? its not on the website
edit: nvm it is
Only 5 months too late, but hey, who cares about arena anyways.
I'd add a free arena ticket in the rank chest for every 5 ranks from rank 20.
Free stuff is nice
But a small indie company like Blizzard need people to buy arena tickets.
Leonlx Oh comeon, 150 os very cheap, and if you get like 4 wins you win a pack and most of the times 50 Gold, so it's the same of buying pack, and if play for some time 4 wins is very easy

The secret to winning at arena seems to be to get lucky enough to draft something rare enough that no one can afford to play around it. Deathwing, etc.
Primordial Glyph should say - Reduce cost of that spell this turn by (2).
No meteor? Where is the real Kripp?
You can play around Meteor by positioning your higher health minions at the far ends of the board and your 1-2 hp minions in the middle.
You can't play around Shadowreaper Anduin by positioning your higher attack minions at the far ends of the board and your 1-2 atk minions in the middle.
The first 30 secs is like and ice frog quote "change is good not for logic but for something new" or something along those lines
the boss It's actually logical, because new means new things to explore and experience, which is the ENTIRE poinz of videogames.
He means don't change because something is op change for a new experience
Kripp, honestly I only got into watching your content very recently, like a little more than a week ago I clicked on one of your salt compilations, they're hilarious but rightfully so. What the fuck are you talking about? The only point you're making is that combo equals battle cry which doesn't make sense and isn't true.
I'm honestly Surprised that you even mentioned Cobalt Scalebane. I thought I was just a noob for losing to it so much.
Kripp's mind powers got Fledgling permanently removed. O_O Please dont smite me daddy O_O
I completely agree with this, i miss pre KoFT arena.
I hope you get better kripp and have a speedy recovery from your appendicitis
Perfect timing for a video on arena changes :^)
I love how this video dropped right after they made multiple changes to Arena :D
for what it's worth I really hate running into rexars DK, it's just so much value + the 2 damage to all your minions.
Good video dude, pretty much nails why I had to stop playing a month or so ago. Arena was my preferred game type and it is now absolutely win-more/discover RNG. Still enjoy your videos though.
Sad times, Gwent it is then!
Vicious Fledgling is no longer draftable as of today if you read the patch notes though I'm sure this video was made before the patch.
Blizzard heard your prayers Kripp vicious fledgling no longer in arena
I agree with Bonemare, Cobalt Scalebane, and Frost Lich Jaina. I'm not so sure about the others.
I'd ban that fucking Meteor so much...
You can play around meteor. I feel like the nature of the card makes it so that you can play around it without losing much (if anything) since positioning doesn't often matter otherwise. if you have boardpresence, bonemare plays a bit like:
7 mana 4/4 with charge and a 5/5
Just lost to topdeck Deathwing, I'd like to add him to the list
It's funny Kripp said in a card review that Bonemare wasn't that big of a deal in Arena. He mentioned it first in this video.
Luckyily for kripp all wild decks will be out of arena october 24th.
Hey Kripp congrats, Vicious Fledgling can no longer be drafted in the Arena.
Turn 1 coins Prince - Shadowstep - Prince - GG
Game is fair and ballanced tho.
And yes, you *can* win from that position but your chances are in the single digits while the chances for this play to happen feel like 50%.
Seems like your wish came true, Kripp:
*Hearthstone Update - October 17*
"Vicious Fledgling can no longer be drafted in the Arena."
As of now vicious fledgling is now banned in arena, the update came out this morning and also the occurrence bonus of the hero cards have been removed
The bird just got banned in the draft, now just the snipers have it.
Nah they won't have it next week when they reset everyones arena runs.
This should happen after like holding an arena deck for like 10 days or such.
Quick survey: did I forget to mention my hair to be banned?

Monthly rotating "some cards" from wild back into standard, with the first month or 2 after a new set being what we know as standard now.
Change like that might make me check out the game again
Lost to a mage with 3 flamestrikes and a frost lich Jaina the other week, haven't played hearthstone since.
same in ranked with the prince... prince t1 or t2 (or 2 or 3 prince t1/2 with rogue) and you can concede
The timing of this video is 'pretty good.' RIP Flappy bird in arena.
We need someone in Hearthstone developing team like you.
Hopefully you feel better soon Kripp! Appendicitis is awful :(

Because Kripp made this video, I'm considering it done
At 3:30, he says that you can buff it to 4 mana 4/7. With one more, you can even buff it to 4 mana 7/7 PogChamp
It's odd that while Bonemare and Cobalt Scalebane do show up in constructed decks, Deathspeaker is nowhere to be found.
I highly Agree with removing Frost Lich Jaina From Arena. Lost my last Arena run to that one card.
I agree with all of them but vilespine. it's a very good card but still an epic and a class card ... you dont see it THAT often and it feels less frustrating or game winning than bullshit like Bonemare. And it is not just another RNG shitfest like Glyph or a complete op card like UI

Get Well Krip. One Hell of a Video and aside from bann all DK (my line) Nailed it
And thus, as Kripparrian spokith, Flappy Bird was banned from arena.
MC Tech is my #1 by a landslide. The monitor-smashingly-unfun of when it wrecks me sooooo much outweighs the fun of when I play it. No card with such negative net fun should still be in arena.

I really wish primordial glyph had some sort of cost, just like all other discover mechanics.
when are you making a video about the new arena revamp? cant wait
If you read the update from today, you would've seen that they already removed Vicious Fledgling from Arena.
Last time I was this early, Kripp wasn't gingerino.
Vicious fledgeling is actually banned now and they also removed synergie picks
Watching in 2018, thinking it was a new video. Didn't realize until I saw that Bonemare was 7 mana.
The patch notes on the blizzard launcher says FlappyBird is no longer aquireable in arena
Some of these underlying problems with the put it in epic so it don't break arena, is be cause of the rarity occurrence bonus yo y can snag multiple copies of power game swinging epics (ie. hey guys how’s it going crane here
I was always an arena player. I am so frustrated with the state of arena now. I wish blizzard will do something about this quickly.
Vicious Fledgling now confirmed as no longer draftable in Arena as of latest patch.
I remember how kripp said that bonemare would be fine for arena, like it's not that bad like bog creeper:)
What he meant when he said was that Bog Creeper is always really good, however Bonemare is absolute garbage if your board is empty.
He just underestimated how often people would have something on the board on turn 7.
I personaly like Bonemare. It is a little too good, but it isn't as annoying as Cobalt Scalebane.
how many time that board is empty btw
Where are all the kripperinos?
Stormsplyccerino kripperino :D
TheBlockyBirderino kripperino :D

I would keep a lot of these cards but ban then when the new expansion hits.
Despite all these issues, skill in arena is still just as important as ever. The win rates of the top players are about the same as they've always been.
Your thoughts on Anduin are how i feeel playing Quest druid
I'm pretty sure the better change for most of these cards is to make them not common rather then remove them.
All of them but flamestrike and bonemare am i rite?
Get well soon 😢💜
If bonemare dies, the minion effected by its buff should lose its buff.
Get well, get well soon, we want you to get well!
Making the correct choice and still sometimes lose is not something you can get away from in a card game...
If you get 60/40 is great odds and the correct play but you still lose 4/10 times...
For those who don't know yet Kripp has been hospitalized today due to acute appendicitis. Guess the vegan salt finally took its toll
Wait, are you serious? Please don't be serious. I need the H3 podcast with the Kripp to happen :(
And on the same day that Vicious Fledgling got banned from arena.
I'd also add firelands portal to this list.
I feel like bloodreaver guldan should be on this list also. If a warlock even manages to stabilise 1 turn like mage, and they play this, its mostly game over... 3 dmagae life steal hero power in late game is so hard to out value unless you have 5 minions on board and he has 0

What’s the relation between the hair dye and the surgery?
I am going to piss off Batman, and watch some Kripp Tonight.
Isn't deathspeaker simular to 2 mana 2-2 that gives divine shield?
Get well soon kripp
Don't worry Kripp the new expansion is coming out next month
Blizzard granted your vicious fledging wish
‘I tried to order them but it’s pretty hard when you hate them all equally.’
