It's important to consider Doran's point about (a) many Palestinian "civilians" being in harmony with Hamas' genocidal inclinations and (b) how many people in "civilian" clothes are firing at IDF soldiers (and being counted in "civilian" fatalities). This is why Israel's position is complicated. Dishonest slander is a major tactic of Hamas and their allies.
