I am fascinated by black hair-both what all goes into caring for it and also what can be done with it. Fantastic! I have essentially straight, fine hair, so when in high school, watching my best friend french-braid her own hair (the texture of which was a fraction of the curl of the ladies you work on), by leaving the part she’d done, without having to pin to hold it in place just blew my mind. I wish I could feel what the silked result was like-it’s just so different from my own! I enjoy watching these transformations, very educational and honestly entertaining. 🙏🏼❤️

Amazing how sparse her hairline is despite a head full of hair. Gotta stop slicking and just embrace the frizz. Your work is always A+ 💕💚
It's not always from slicking down her edges. She could have medical issues that have thinned out her edges. I know that my thyroid problems have affected my hair over the years, to the point that my stylist would ask if my thyroid was flaring up. Even stress or medication leaving the body post surgery will affect the hair.
Definitely could be medical, but we do need to give our edges some time to breathe from edge control. I was born with pretty thin edges compared to the rest of my head, and I can’t tell you how many stylists over the years tried to tell me otherwise 😅

Those of us with high density have to learn the hard way sometimes. I love ponytails but when you have dense kinky hair there is not enough space to lay it down into a ponytail unless the hair is straight or really well stretched. The hair practically grows straight out because there is literally no room for it to lay in its natural state (at least not at the roots), forcing it down is what is causing a lot of traction alopecia. Ive had to learn to just wear my hair down most of the time. That or extremely loose pigtails where I don’t even wrap the holders.
