Awesome job on getting them close and great job by the “young guns”! I have noticed a lot more 13-17 y/o’s going out this year than the previous year. That’s good stuff right there! I have 3 of them 7, 11(Monday), and 15 who absolutely love going to the duck club! Keep taking the next generations dads and future dads, there’s no other feeling like it when they knock down their first bird!! 😊😊 Had a chocolate when I was 14, Buck was my best dog, trained him myself. Fetched everything, dove, ducks, quail, geese and Bandtail pigeons. Loved that dog, I will be 50 in March. Time flys Cole, oh how it flies by. You’ll wake up one day and think WTF is really going on??? My mind says I’m 25 (ask my wife) but my body says oh no you’re not!! Keep these bangers coming!!❤

Hopefully she’ll sneak out with a few easy rips next season but if not we went out on a picture perfect hunt. Sun with few inches of snow and solo limit of late season green heads at 10 yards. Couldn’t have dreamt it up any better. Soak em in!

First off Cole congratulations on the new pup. If you would like some advice on how to get the dog to go in the crate with no issues. When you feed and water her do it in her crate and she'll get used to going in the crate as our safe space. Leave her in there for about 15 minutes or until she's finished eating, grab her up and take her outside immediately and tell her go potty. Doing it this way will give you dual benefits you crate train the dog plus you teach the dog to not use the restroom in the house or in her crate. I've had eight Labs that I've trained this way plus I've trained four or five other people's pups to do the same thing all have turned out great. Another thing I can tell you about the crate is never use it as punishment the crate should always be the dog safe space. Have fun and have patience. I've got an old red lab that has been excellent dog, then I've had 1/2 british lab, could def tell the diff,great pup, now I have a 1/4 british b l m , hes 7 months and is a blast to train cant wait for next upland and waterfowl season, have fun hard to beat a lab anywhere if you can help it never send her on a retrieve if she is "squeaking" as they say in England (Whining) you'll be glad in the long run with a quiet calm dog

I have a 4 year old black lab named Luna and I had a brittish red lab that was the sweetest sister to Luna, unfortunately she passed at 10 months due to unknown circumstances vet could verify. Luna my lab had a 18 hour seizure for unknown reasons and hasn't had any since she made 13 waterfowl retrieves and 9 dove retrieves. Going eventually to look for another brittish red female companion and partner for Luna to hunt with eventually, my heart is still pretty shook after last February and may.

That’s what I do also. She doesn’t mind the crate once she is in it. She just prefers to be out with her people.
