Trains at York, ECML, 06/04 & 30/04/2024

A fairly decent variety of Trains spotted at York Station, on the 2 days I visited.
On 06/04, I came to the station to spot the London Kings Cross - Newcastle Steam Dreams Excursion Railtour, with 90001 ‘Royal Scot’ leading the first leg of the journey in the morning, and 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ taking the tour back to London later in the afternoon. Throughout the day, we see a Freight train with a Colas Class 70 doing the works, and a light Class 57 moving through. Other than that is the occasional passenger service from LNER, Grand Central and CrossCountry, and unfortunately there were no services from Northern or TransPennine Express, due to the ASLEF strike action.
Not too much to see on 30/04, apart from the early afternoon InterCity 225 allocation, with 91114 ‘Durham Cathedral’ doing the work, and other passenger services run by TPE, LNER and Grand Central, as well as a pair of Northern Class 156’s running empty to Neville Hill.
I haven’t really been doing much filming this month, because I’ve been busy with a lot of other stuff outside trains, and also the weather throughout April has not been great at all. Hopefully May will be better as the weather should brighten up and I should be available to visit a few stations where I have never filmed at.

Just a question are you allowed to go to the platforms at York if you're not getting the train? I'm going to be near there on Saturday and wondering if I'd be able to go trainspotting there without a ticket or are there ticket barriers or anything stopping you going in without a ticket?

@@OldTrainChannel Absolutely. You can film anywhere you like at York for as long as you want, and there are no ticket barriers in place
