Throughout the years San Antonio has seen its fair share of local musicians who have beaten the odds & maticulously matriculated onto the national & world wide music scene; but what I find most intriguing is witnessing a musician's growth, not only as a writer or performer, but as a human being. There are some who just 'get it' & realize what this life is ALL about,...& thats relationships! You couple that with hard work, humility & unanticipated opportunities & that could make for a beautiful success story. Such is the case with our very own, Roman Surman who belted his way through the SA music scene primarily with the band, Medicine Tongue. Now 15+ years later the man finds himself touring the world as lead guitarist of the heavy, multi-genre, Wednesday 13! So when the band recently stopped into SA on an opening slot for Cradle of Filth at The Aztec Theatre we took the opportunity to catch up with Roman & get ALL the latest on W13's upcoming release, his secret to success in the music business, his fondest memories of the SA music scene, his NEW Sully Guitars & what lies ahead for the band this year & in 2020.
