iM a Long Haul Trucker, looking to get off the road for good. Always had a liking for some sort of design work. Bought myself a laptop and im learning so much about this business. Much respect to you all honestly! I hope to get there one day and have a better quality of life for my family and myself
I'm definitely hearing a lot of people suggesting gradients in the design, so I'm definitely leaning towards that trend. I do like the look of the dark mode websites too depending on the client. Thanks for the video! Glad i found your channel.
It was actually on pait digital where I saw you use this big heading that took up like maybe 75% of the width containing like 3 words and it was then that I realised I don't have to be afraid to use somewhat big text. As long as the layout is simple and not too complex I guess big text is a + since it's easy to see and understand what's going on.
My main issue with every trend is that they treat mobile As an after thought when it comes to creativity, Most of the Uniqueness of these websites are the Desktop version, I can't wait till we get a very mobile centric Design evolution. Cuz that is the biggest piece of the pie
This is a really good point. I think the struggle is mobile is just so limited by space that desktop is the only viewport where designers and devs can really express themselves. Then for their mobile responsiveness they simplify everything. So I guess what I am saying is I understand why these trends mostly show in desktop
@@PaytonClarkSmith As a designer I have been very happy to work with the desktop as focus and designarea, you can work with all the creativety. But since some years I am forced to set the smaller screens in focus and it's hard and limited. But lately I have started to get inspiration from converting big sites and large amount of information into smaller simplified areas and functionallity... The work has got more edge. Keep the good work going Payton. Like your posts.
Hi Payton, am a fan of your content, but I am far from managing to keep up with your high tempo 😉. I like all 6 of the trends you show. In the end is the purpose that decide what to adapt. The endproduct and the customers market will set the limits... Keep going Payton!
I love gradients and bento grids! The large text is a nice idea. Hm, I'd love to see statistics if ai-generated imagery is taking over stock photos. Obviously cannot totally at this point but could make a big dent.
The scrapbook and the vibrant gradients are two styles I am kind of over. The others I like especially the larger typography. I think the typography one will last a bit longer just because it seems like it takes its inspiration from cool print layouts which have stood the test of time.
What's coming: We need to find a better industry where we don't have to beg for work hundreds of times to only land one customer, or pay the price of a new car to get the privilege of warm leads.
It would be cool to see your thoughts on good web designs for different types of industries. ie real estate, architectural, food, hospitality etc… Added* for 2024 :)
Lol we're calling anything with a light-on-dark palette "dark mode" now? There's always been dark backgrounds in web design. And while the evidence on whether it really is easier on the eyes is iffy (it certainly depends on how much text there is to read), it's certainly not true that a light-on-dark scheme automatically looks cleaner and more professional - you just happen to be looking at clean, professional designs.
I'm a realtor and I'm looking for a new layout for my website and I feel that Bento grid will be the best option. The Bento grid will allow my visitors to immediately identify what they need such as "Buying" "Selling" "Renting". I hope I am correct 😅
hey payton, huge fan of your content. I know about webflow but I'm quite confused on how to scale on webflow knowledge and how to become a pro, i know I'm at a world third country and paying for the subscription is quite pain in the ass 😄. what do recommend on being webflow expert and practicing?
It can be a little pricey. It gets easier once you get paying clients so you don’t feel like you are paying out of your own pocket. I would make sure you are familiar with all the Webflow university videos then start trying to land some client projects to get some more experience!
Where's neumorphism? We have seen it popping out in the last months of 2023 in major companies like Google, Samsung, Airbnb or Reddit. It is the only reasonable candidate to neobrutalism and scrap book style we've seen in 2023 and really seems to be the new all-purpose flat or material design.
@@sicfxmusic if you don't know what to answer it would have been better not to write anything, because the program that creates a complete site exists and is called WYSIWYG Web Builder
Most consumer traffic comes from a mobile device and most business traffic comes from desktop devices. These trends are great, but not for mobile devices. The only trend that seems to work well in mobile devices is gradients.

We just added some *new trainings* and a brand new resource to help with pricing your design work

Another one is going to be popular is 3D on scroll websites, especially when we are able to load pages faster with them.

Hey man, nice jacket! cool video.
Excellent, I learned a lot.
It's been a pleasure watching Payton's content getting incrementally better. Love it

Start reading Blair Enns, Jonathan Stark and watching Chris Do (The Future). A better way is possible.
I love so much Bento design!
The last trend I'm also a fan of 😊

I think the bento is even more eye-crossing than the scrapbook. I’ve been over gradients since the last time it was a trend like ten years ago.

what about for a booking website?

I think so, just make sure you pay attention to hierarchy, training people's eyes where to go

How well does massive font work for mobile?

Me: This is the new trend
Client: You kidding
Client after 2 years: I want this
Hi, in your opinion, what is the best program for creating a website?
You can't finish a custom designed website with just one program. Or simply go for online free/paid services like Squarespace etc...

The trend I love the most is using of huge and big typography and the use of linear gradient.
Agreed!
Mine as well

Dark background is horrible!!! Light Gradient much better!
Bento and massive type especially massive type and i'm going to use it in my own webflow portfolio website
Same thoughts here
Although i see good use cases, the scrapbook style is the most disliked in my thought process.
I search content creator who explain how build amazing and interactive Bento Design. If you know please share
Dark Mode is just for nerds and iPhone Kids
Idc about web design rules, the scrapbook style is awesome.
