As a Welshman I take great insult that a Welshman was blamed for an England defeat by a superior team.Mr Owens is not a bad referee by all accounts.
No, greatest ref in the game. But you can't deny he went out of his way to find something wrong with both the Farrell and Care tries. Which of course there was, but no one other than a Welsh ref would have tried to so hard to find the fault.

Well, the Farrell try was a clear knock on and being the greatest ref in the game (as you said), he queried why the ball went backwards at such a pace.
Also, the Care try was called back by his linesman and if you don't have both feet planted at all times, you can't compete for the turnover.
Surely you could just suck it up? England win all the time and they were completely outplayed and outclassed by Scotland.
Oh deary me! Alot of Butt hurt little britains. No surprise? Blaming the ref for loosing, rather than the wheels coming if their 'sweet chariots' and being totally outplayed. Well boys get used to it! The Irish are coming and we intend to humble you once again on St Patrick's Day!
I thought Owens had a really good game, getting every major decision right (coming from an Englishman at the game). Scotland were just far better in every area, especially in the first half.

Nothing better, they have that Smugness which makes it so much more enjoyable when you beat them.
All the commentators seem to miss it but for the first try Jones clearly kicks it to himself, so much more than just a "lucky bounce"

I don't like making remarks like this, but this just demands an observation: When Owen Farrell is lining up a shot at goal he looks, mentally, about five beers short of a six pack.

Well done Scotland but every time I see that second Huw Jones try I marvel at Brown and Watson's inability to bring him down before the try line. Now is the time to drop Brown altogether me thinks. Every dog has its day....

Great ref performance! Nigel was absolutely brilliant. Not biased towards us in the slightest. Just sour grapes from the nation nobody likes because of their arrogance and the fact they fail to respect most teams! Well they were taught a lesson in RESPECT!

English were so so weak here, the amount of times Jones ripped through the defence like it was paper is crazy. They were weak and lazy even before half time. They hardly stretched their legs the whole match, and when they did keep up with the pace they were weak weak weak in the tackling. Like can i ask what is going on at 3:00 ! Two men n him and they shipwreck in the tackle.
Scotland were good, but they'll still need to be a WHOLE lot better to even have a stab agains Ireland. In my opinion Ireland are top quality, i think at the rate they're going it will be theirs no problem. Ireland have just shown so much strencth and so much quality in their matches and they are very entertaining to watch. Got a good balance between the old players and the fresh players too. Hopefully injuries wont slow their run.

What's crap is that England when they play the Allblacks later this year will 100% turn up for it. There's all these reports of Eddie not wanting the job in the first place or his style has become stale.Its all a ploy to make it seem they'll be distracted come that game.

First of all I want to congratulate Scotland, they completely outplayed us. But i'm sure from what i've seen in other comment sections that the general hatred towards the English will be present.

MrMisty_ I agree that you gave Scotland a compliment but you didn't hesitate to also give England a lot of credit, not just for this match, but for the rest of the championship and when they play New Zealand. You also claim that Scotland felt inferior of England's progress but I believe there are many more factors than that like for one it was a derby match and if Scotland lost this match they where out. It wouldn't have mattered who Scotland where playing as they simply had to win this for an attempt to finish in the top three after a slow start to Wales.

An England player was off his feet in the ruck before but the ref let it play on to give England player benefit of the doubt however after interception it gave an unfair advantage to England as play had been slowed down in the ruck that's why the try was disallowed. Ref got decision right.It is in the rule book as an offence when you slow down the ball for the opposition.
Correct decision. Try watching the game and stop being arrogant. Try admitting you were outplayed for once.
