Surviving as Poland vs Russia in millenium dawn could be done whilst asleep. I tried playing as Russia once and I got halfway through Germany before ending up in a stalemate.
I personally love the Polish historical tree, but I always complete every possible focus on it first so that I wind up with like 3 pp gain a day, with focuses active
I'm just picturing Stalin and his generals planning the war against Poland, they have been working on it for a few months, and then somebody comes in and tells them that Ukraine has been granted independence, and Stalin just tears up the plan and they have to start again

Tbh as someone who played Poland the most (I don't have all of the dlc, so Polands focus tree is still pretty big, just with no alt history, also I'm Polish, of course I have to main it)the historical Poland is not that bad If you wonder, NEVER take the right path (which is also the historical Mościcki path), it doesn't give you much, the best thing is being allies with Romania, but it's pointless, because you get it nevertheless if you become a major power (hard but duable). Centre path helps you alot with it, by giving you Lith. Lat. and Est. basically for free, and you can snipe weak neighbours really easily by panslovian revengism. Plus if you ignore the peseant revolt you can even get ITALY into your faction. Left path is by far the most overpowered. Having like 20 people in a faction is kinda overpowered. Though when the germans attack, you are kinda weak, because you left out so many industrial and army focuses by inviting all of the people (this goes for all paths if you become a major power), but I think it's reallly worth it nonetheless
Im playing Poland for the first time right now, and have taken Anastasia Romanov as my King. I have since defeated Germany with the Baltics help and have now just defeated Russia. My next war is with Italy, then i can hire the Polish bear that loads artillery shells as a general. Wojtek will eventually become my leader! Loving this playthrough.
@Player_027 the paramilitary groups are really good because of the recruitable pop you get. For the left, most are decent (other than legion of merit). The castle sucks, but if you do choose a side, go for the synthetic bonus rather than banning parties.

My favorite is in eu4 when you call your ally into a war and then they just sit there doing nothing. That or their armies start moving only to change direction over and over again so they end up staying in the same province

I usually play with the “AI Embarkation” Game Rule set to “Free” to prevent the AI from permanently bankrupting itself by repeatedly leaving and returning port. It’s all fun and games seeing the Abbasids -5000 gold in debt, until they start violently imploding.

Poland is my favorite country to play. There are so many different paths and I feel like it is a good challenge to plan and prepare for getting slapped by Germans/Soviet’s or both
I have a friend who can consistently roll over the axis and Comintern as Poland in ahistorical multiplayer games. Needless to say, he has been banned several times.
My new strat against AI Japan as USA is to send all my starting troops to occupy the Philippine Islands, but only on the same island that the city of Manila is in, and then I build coastal fortifications on the coast that faces China and Taiwan, and then furthermore I built land forts on every province inland from the coast, AI Japan takes a minimum 600,000 casualties in the first 3 months of the war every single time.
@@endzor Especially since you can get that +10% construction speed focus at the start. Also I think you can get a -2 year ahead penalty and 100% research speed for fighters and light tanks down the line. I remember winning the air war once with my tier 3 fighter in 1940s~ish
