Elkie Brooks, knew you when you was in Vinegar Joe with Robert Palmer, it was a live concert in a small venue in Germany during my student. You had a lovely voice, knew you would be a star, as I did of Robert with his presence. Followed you guys for years. Just found your channel and glad to see you are still performing. Keep it up! I did have the honor to meet Elkie and her family in real, also be at different performances, for me she is the best singer i did ever meet and it still hit me when hear a song of This GrandLady
The song "Nights In White Satin" was originally recorded by The Moody Blues back in 1967 which I liked. Elkie gave it a BBC Radiophonic Workshop synthesizer like kick in 1982 which was decent.
This is of many great live tracks on the old VHS "Pearls the Video Show". I still have one but need to get a digitalsed copy..the first of many live tours I saw the magnificent Elk on when I was just 21.
The syth player on this tour was Duncan Mackay..ex Cockney Rebel,ex !0cc and also played on Kate Bush`s first three albums .He played on Elk`s Pearl`s 2 and Minutes albums and I think he wrote or co wrote a few songs for/with Elkie too. He was great live..stand out playing on this track and Elk`s Pink Floyd`s Money cover version.
