Was news to me! Why does it only do 1 damage to each of the 3 creatures and not the first creatures soaking up more?
@@fouroakfarm Damage overflow in this game is whatever is in excess of lethal. Since any amount of damage a deathtouch creature deals to another is lethal, everything past the first point of damage carries over to the other creatures blocking. It works this way with trample, too. If you attacked with a 5/5 that had trample and deathtouch and your opponent blocked with a 6/6, the 6/6 would die and your opponent would take 4 damage.
just goes to show that you can make it to mythic without knowing interactions like that

Don't. The fact that these supposed *mythic* players have no idea how first strike deathtouch works just proves that Arena is a fucking joke.
(well, I think the first guy might have known, judging by how he blocked, but just didn't do the math properly. Math is for blockers, as they say)

I love playing with both Glissas. Most people struggle so hard trying to figure out how to block against first strike + deathtouch.
Some of these matches remind me of how relatively rare the first strike/deathtouch combo is on a single creature; so many players get tripped up because they're not sure how the two abilities work together.
and for good reason... it's almost impossible to beat in combat
A little while back, I played a list somewhat similar to this but with a couple copies of Breach the Multiverse thrown in for good measure. Little known fact about that card - it actually turns ALL creatures you control into phyrexians. In most decks that part essentially functions as just flavor text, but sometimes you can steal an opponent's key creature, start doubling its triggers, give it first strike and deathtouch, etc. You can also run a token-generating card (wedding announcement, planeswalkers, etc.) and play Breach to suddenly transform all your tokens into phyrexians, making them much scarier for our unsuspecting opponent. This is almost certainly worse than the build showcased in this video, but it's good silly fun and always gets a good laugh out of me when it goes off.

That Echolocation line killed me
While it doesn't do much with Throne, Phyrexian Censor seems awfully tempting here using maybe 2 copies. I've tried a few Phyrexian decks before because I also want to try every possible Throne deck. All my attempts with Phyrexians were much better with a couple Censors shoved in there to slow down opponents. Speaking of putting Throne in all the decks, I'm actually pulling a 75% win rate with 5 color Human Soldiers w/Throne in Standard. Jirina is the GOAT BTW.
I agree, I've been trying with some phyrexian shinanigans recently and Censor is just such a nice card to have.

I pulled a roaming throne in drsft along with the bat god and 4 copies of the 1B bat with Lifelink and makes them exile a card until it leaves. Roaming throne was so good late game.
I have a similar deck from a couple of sets ago except with Jinnie Fay rather than throne, finally making good my threat to construct a Jinnie deck that can win a few games here and there 😆

After many games, I never managed to play 5drop Glissa, so i dropped the 2 copies to put 2 more sentries which are actually good vs monored and other aggro decks, which are very common ion bo1

I have this Glissa as a phyrexian tribal brawl commander and it’s one of my favorite decks. Love to see it in standard
Commenting to suggest putting roaming throne in a narset, enlilghtened exile prowess deck. creature type could eitiher be human for easy mode, or monk for something spicier, both are fun.
So Legend, what would you say is the best tribe to take advantage of Roaming Throne so far?

At 37:50 you couldhave played Annex Sentry and sacrifice it to the Butcher for a +1/+1 counter, I think. You ended up winning anyways, so not a big deal.
How would you be able to sac it to the butcher? Did you mix it up with the bloated processor?

Had to cut Sheoldred to make room for 5 mana Glissa.
The etb on Sheoldred is ok, but we're unlikely to transform her.

17:40 Interesting. Does the opponent not get priority after you pay the ward cost? So kinda like giving you the worse of scenario by paying ward while targeting illegal hexproof target.

As a player coming from Hearthstone I hate playing against 0 interaction decks like those green poison ones. So boring, you either win easily or lose without making much decisions. It all depends on if your opponent draws perfectly or not and you can't heal or block or do anything most of the time, which you can do against mono red. These decks are the reason I'd rather watch mtg than play myself most of the time
Throne on paper looks boring but in practice always makes great content.
