Sebastian understanding why Bucky does not inherit the shield is something that the fans hating on Falcon receiving it need to see. It makes sense because Bucky has been fighting a fight he did not sign up for and he is free for the first time to live a life of his own making. He accepts being cryogenically frozen (sleeping) just to avoid the Winter Soldier persona being activated again. He doesn’t want to hurt people. The burden of being Captain America is something he is not yet ready for. He needs healing from the horrors of his past actions. Falcon is the right man for the job. 💯👌🏽

So, Sebastian canonically exists in the MCU. So there is an actor running around the world who looks exactly like the winter soldier. Imagine if they made a short film of SHIELD or whatever federal agencies trying to arrest Sebastian Stan, thinking that he's the winter soldier. I swear i imagined this in my mind and i lost my shit.
Samuel L. Jackson also exits in the MCU, because Star Wars was part of the list of things recommended to Steve to watch.

@@sleepingdogpro Thankfully I live in a pocket of the fandom where that is not an issue. I hope that those entitled fangirls/boys realise one day, that Bucky was not ready, not at the time. If they have watched Infinity War they should have noticed how much Bucky hates to fight. For the first time in over 70 years he is free to do what he wants and I think that Steve and Bucky talked about that before Steve left. I just wish that they wouls have goven us this talk, even if it would have trown off the pacing of the movie a bit.
@@claudiastieble5055 I agree completely - completely - and Seb has said as much himself more than once. Sometimes I think fans live too long in fanfiction and forget what the actual films have given us. Whether the films have given it well or not is another question (I wish we'd gotten their conversation too, or at least something more than what we got!) but that's different from thinking Bucky, as written in the MCU, would actually be happy carrying the shield right now. Hell, he wasn't even happy doing that in the comics and never fully felt comfortable being Cap, but he was going into it because it was literally Steve's dying wish. The circumstances are so different here and Seb has been playing Bucky as tired/wanting to break free of all this for quite a while. The man isn't ready for battle right now. He's just not.

Their reasoning about giving the shield to Sam instead of Bucky is on point. I need to show this interview to a co-worker who literally was upset by the fact that Steve didn’t give it to Bucky because she thought Bucky deserved it more.

Mackie is notoriously hard to interview, there have been cases of him wrecking some journalists because they were asking personal questions he didn't want to be asked, but even here in a really chill interview that goes well he can be really surprising, like holy shit at that moment at 5:40 when he decides out of knowhere to be the interviewer and ask the journalist a question lol, I fucking love watching interviews of these two but I would not be confident enough to dare to interview Mackie. Dude is wild lmao
There's a solo interview that Mackie did for imdb that's really good, he doesn't screw around with the interviewer, they have good chemistry. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

he's right if you think about the movies because Sam was Steve's main partner ever since the second Captain America, more than Bucky ever was. And how Sam sacrificed for Steve and Bucky in Civil War shows Sam cares a lot about Steve and he portrayed the Captain America's personality of a selfless man. Also, Bucky never signed up for this life, if he did, he would've also tried to go for the supersoldier serum too as Steve did. No, he was merely a product of the American WW2 propaganda to make young men throw away their lives in a foreign land. All his life Bucky was controlled and couldn't make his own choices, wouldn't make sense for Steve to decide the rest of his life too.

Don’t know why people thought Winter Soldier should have the Shield and were crying over it when it makes no sense for him to get it right now.
Prob to start over as a good guy and atone for all the things he did when he had no control.
He would be like steve but have long hair and a metal arm while with falcon we got a dude with wings that has a shield.
It makes so much less to give falcon the shield unless falcon stops wearing his wings,but that kinda sux imho.
Anyways,mackie however fun he is doesnt fit well for captain america.
Captain america was a serious dude that is funny sometimes,while falcon is opposite aka they will probably try to cash in on mackies humor.

That would be stale and I’m glad it is a completely different personality for Cap now seeing as I hated the Cap character previously (not Evans portrayal, just never liked the overly righteous Cap character). Bucky is still mentally ill, and as it’s been announced, Zemo is returning as a villain in their show, a guy who knows how to mess with Buckys mind. Why would he be passed the shield when he isn’t even fully in control of himself? Makes no sense.

Sebastian Stan played a character in the movie Hot Tub Time Machine. In Avengers: Endgame, the characters reference a number of time travel movies, including Hot Tub Time Machine. Since HTTM exists in the MCU, that means Sebastian Stan the actor exists in the MCU.
