At this point the breaking news should be "No Yacht on fire today"
At this point, insurance companies shouldn't cover Yacht fires, seems suspicious.
@@fullhalf420 I can picture a Russian oligarch giving the order (Russian accent) "Captain, burn the ship! Americans will not take my yacht!" 🤣 🛳️🔥👆🫅🏻
@@RaulEdu33 Of course they cover it. But when the investigations the ensue suspect arson or intentional neglect, they deny the fraudulent claim. As they should.
Amazing how many yachts are bursting into flames. 😳
Such a gorgeous vessel!
Thank you.
Older ones they explain away by insufficient maintenance or simply overuse during a short period which makes sense as this applies to all things mechanical (which yachts are in many ways) but not a brand new yacht.
Not just “news”….but Breaking News..!! I love this channel. Keep up the great content.
Hello and greetings from Ibiza. No injuries, there were 16 people on board, of which 7 were crew. All of them safe were picked up by boats from the Guardia Civil.
Nice yacht. Sad about the fire. Hopefully no one was hurt.
Amazing how flammable and well insured these yachts are. 🔥
You're jumping to conclusions based on ignorance. First off, you don't even know how much it's insured. Secondly, this is a _brand new_ yacht. Red flags go up just because of how new this vessel is. Only an idiot or someone spiteful would purchase a $25 million yacht and burn it to get _less than the purchase price_ back in cash, at best.
More conspiracy nonsense. I wish these numpties would give it a rest.
@@csjrogerson2377 Ah, so u claim conspiracies don't happen. Calling others names is projection.
It’s seems odd the economy changes globally and suddenly there’s fire after fire 🔥 on yachts. 🤔
It's almost like the know the fabricated collapse of the global economy is on its way
It doesn’t take much once that fiberglass catches , the rest is in most cases, history .
In America when the economy goes down fires in Furniture and Carpet stores go way up. It is the same with cars. They are all insured and may be indebted.
What a shame! The little we saw of the inside shows how well she's been finished. There's a lot of plastic burning there by the looks of it. Was it only yesterday that it was said that these larger yachts had sophisticated fire suppression systems on board? Maybe the vessel can be saved if it can be contained to that section of the boat showing here. Very sad to see this.
The steel hull is a good omen as long as the hoses to the skin fittings don't burn through causing her to sink. But if the aluminium superstructure catches alight then it will be very hard to extinguish.
A great pity, a lot of work has gone into building and fitting out the vessel.
Would you really want to take this vessel after repairs out to the open seas, let alone do a cross-oceanic with it?
It would have to be completely redone. The smell of burning electronics is awful and for some reason is impossible to get out. But being that it has a steel hull it can likely definitely be salvaged. What a shame.
@@frankfarago2825 What repairs? Its going to be a burnt out hulk and will sink unless towed to a scrapyard.
Do you know anything about ships and the maritime industry? This and your other posts would suggest not.
I doubt that there will be much plastic onboard. If the yacht is built to the MCA LY3 Code, and most are, there are strict regulations on allowable materials. Furniture, soft furnishings, foams, materials, carpets, etc should all be fire retardant. Most of the fire will be wooden materials. I can't remember if vessels under 500gt were required to have fixed systems in accommodations spaces in the Code, but if they are, they have not worked.
This vessel is not going to be saved. Be lucky if She doesnt founder at Formentera. (Nice bay, anchored the Owner's 50m yacht there dozens of times)
I have sailed offshore quite a few times - these seemingly random fires are a scary reminder that a few hundred miles from land you really are on your own, fortunately these fires seem to be on boats close to help for the crew!!
When far offshore, it's handy to have a spare support yacht close by. Christoforo Columbo understood this.
Would be interesting to graph out over the last 20 years super yacht fires timeline.
Boats catch on fire Every. Single. Day. As for super yachts, there are between 5-10,000 of them, so it isn't like a lot of them are catching on fire just because we hear about one or two a month. There is next to no way this would even be insurance fraud.
Sooner rather than later, insurance companies are going to take the position "you're interested in insuring your $150 million yacht - fine - the yearly premium will be $150 million."
That looked like a very nice Yachts , I love the bow !!
Oh that hurts.
It's a gorgeous yacht.
I truly feel for the owners.
Crew too for that matter.
Very sad.
Superyachts are not faring too well in these past 6 months, to say the least.
These incidences… these ‘fires’, are seemingly becoming more common. I wonder what this means. Thanks for the video.
It means the happiest days of a yacht owner's life are the day he buys it and the day he gets rid of it…
Reports say rescue had to be dispatched from Ibiza 35m away and once on scene did not attempt fire fighting. Contacts in the marina said Salvage is letting it sink! There are only 2 fire boats in Ibiza, so why wasn't isn't one stationed in Formentera, and are fire boats not designed to get close enough to douse the fire?
I hope no one was injured as a result of this fire. I would have thought a yacht this size would have had a bigger fire suppression and fighting systems on board.
Brand new yacht, may be a faulty system that let it get catastrophic?
@@basstrammel1322 Look at yesterday's posting. There must be a market for retrofitting.
It was intentional, I am sure.........one way to save money is burn it and collect insurance.....
@@denzilburriss5156 its a brand new yacht, 2 months old, how it’s possible?
Oh wow another one? What is going on? Does this usually happen a lot & we just don't hear about it?
Old joke was "sold to the insurance company ". Definitely happened in 08/09. Not saying this was fraud, but in recessionary times.... they definitely tick up.
Thank you for the update. Great reporting 👍🏼 sad for the boat
Amazing how many yachts have caught on fire - in just this year!!!! a lot of builder must be including "spontaneous combustion" module as an option.
Great video capture of incident thank you eyes in the field.
I don't know but these fires reminds me of the electric cars and buses which burst into flames. Did you see the state of EV when they have a collision? I bet these have similar lithium/ cobalt batteries. Electric of this sort is a green wash. Good to know no one was killed. Thanks for sharing
Wow, that was a beautiful looking yacht.
The yacht is literally floating on a fire extinguisher... So close but so far .. frustrating.
True, but be careful when pumping too much of all that free fire extinguishing material from outside to inside. You know what happens next.
They should fit a button that makes it do a barrel roll in case of fire 😂
Hope everyone is safe
Looks like no fire crews are even attempting to put the fire out
It is already 42 Centigrade there, and when you get close to the vessel, probably 60. Wait until Christmas, things will likely cool down by then.
Nautical Spontaneous combustion!
Flaming yachts.
Must be m/y fire season:) . Time for the insurance dance.
Stunning boat an all.
Are there normally this many yachts that catch on fire in a year or are we seeing a significant increase?
Fortuantely, insurance claims adjustors are all too familiar with this "strange" phenomenon.
Wow. Brand new.
Wow..that WAS a nice yacht
Man that yacht was absolutely stunning 😍
“A Brand New SuperYacht” Do we know the make and model and Is it electric?
.. btw, Corfu is in the Ionian Sea, not really the Med.
Oh man, it's so new and beautiful, what a terrible thing to happen. I certainly hope and pray there won't be injuries or worse.
I’ve been watching you for a while my friend !! Now it’s time … just subscribed . Love your channel !
That's a damn shame. I lost a backyard shed the same way once.
Glad no injuries!......and a lot of lawyers now checking who signed for what and who signed it off!!
Cheers for sharing !!! :)
What with all of the fires. Are they really this common?
Well that blows. Good looking yacht. Hope everyone is ok.
My prayers are with all involved.
Oh dear so new too... This will be very well looked at I'm sure
I'm curious if it has anything to do with Lithium batteries being used in most new boats.
Good info. Thanks
Hope everyone made it of in time. Really slick yacht, almost futuristic lined!?
Do you have any idea how many fires have occurred and when did it start increasing?
Its quite hard to get all the data because its held by individual Flag States and there are so many of them, but from my 16 yrs experience in the industry, the increase in incidents is following the increase in numbers of vessels. All the comments about insurance fraud are made by ignorant fools. Owners invest a lots of time and money in their yachts and they don't like to lose them.
Damn. All that beautiful teak decking.
What is "eSysman?" anyway? Love the channel!
Have there been a crazy amount of yacht fires this year? Crazy!!
It would be very interesting to do some research into what actually causes fire on motor yachts. Not just by category, electrical or engine or whatever but something like fuel line perished and sprayed fuel on a hot surface or an electrical terminal was loose.
@@seamusobrien2675 On a brand new yacht, first time out basically. Highly unlikely.
@@seamusobrien2675 That's one of the dumbest oft-repeated lines. You clearly don't understand how yachting insurance is different from Hollywood insurance. No one who is intelligent enough to make the money to purchase a $25 million yacht is going to burn it for insurance in a month.
@@musicandbooklover-p2o brand new yacht I would totally disagree with you very likely an electrical fault or maybe galley fire ie chief /crew cooking we shall see ...
@@paulnaylor6035 They are probably a mix of reasons, smoking and drinking don't mix and fire retardant furnishings aren't necessarily as safe as you might think. A butt or some live ash can smolder for quite some time before breaking into flames and I'm not certain how that could work on a yacht. But I do know a house that burned down as a result of something similar, though that was an ember from a fire that hit a chair without the occupants noticing (the power of the telly). Luckily they all got out but the house was a right off. Which is how I discovered that being fire retardant isn't being fire proof. Again if someone has left a phone plugged in to charge (or a tablet or laptop) the charger or the phone/tablet could also cause a fire (something else recently highlighted by the fire department here speaking out about kids who plug their phone/tablet in to charge when they go to bed and the heat from the phone has set more then one foam - fire retardant - mattress smoldering. Which would cover electrical, again phone chargers themselves have caused fires (council bungalow recently burned down, the cause was a phone charger charging a phone overnight in the hallway, charger got too hot and started an electrical fire. All escaped but it prompted warnings from the local fire brigade about the dangers of leaving a phone or tablet charging unattended).
I wouldn't have thought it was in the engine room though, the yacht was too new for that but who knows, problems occur and items turn out to have faults which you don't discover until too late. I imagine an investigation will be made even if it is only to isolate the cause, there seem to have been more than usual this year. And I don't think insurance is the cause behind the majority of them.
What is up with all these yacht fires? Is this a usual summer occurrence or is this unusual?
It’s just like in Russia, properties suddenly catch fire and burn down. Did this happen in the past as well? This is yacht/boat #5 or #6? Are the insurance companies allowed to pay out to Russian owners or shell companies?
It's the only super yacht this week and there is no way this is any sort of fraud. It is _brand new._ Zero companies in Europe (outside of Turkey) are insuring Russian sanctioned yachts. If this were owned by sanctioned Russians, they wouldn't have access to it in Spain to begin with. If they burned it, it would have been out of spite, because they would be losing $25 million since they wouldn't get one cent from their insurance companies.
Even if you count eSysman's last video about _Good Vibes_ the video was six days ago, but the fire was eight days ago.
There are five to ten _thousand_ super yachts (79 feet+) in the world. There are _millions_ of boats just in the US alone. Boats catch fire Every. Single. Day. You're only paying attention to what's reported.
@@shantaram3880 two smaller boat a couple of weeks ago on the same day. It’s all on this channel. But maybe it has always been like this, boats burning down ever week.
Just seen this on the local telly, I'm wondering if some of these fires are due to the hot weather?
Wow pretty crazy, for a Just Delivered Yacht.
This yacht was so hot... It caught on fire.
esysman, you have said many times that working on a new boat is alot of work since all these yachts are bespoke. With all owners wanting the newest and safest and best equipment they can afford the complexity must be madding for even the best technicians. Having been in the electrical trades for over 40 years I can only imagine what goes into these yachts.
I've been watching for a while now and it seems quite a few of these super yachts (big and small) are catching fire. Is this normal? and we normally don't hear about it.
Absolutely heartbreaking to watch. Can't help but to think of all the thousands of man hours that went into creating such a gorgeous vessel only to be lost. I sincerely hope ISA recovers from this as their vessels are a true work of art.

Makes no difference to whoever owns the Yacht , quite a lot of waste actually . Those must take a lot of passion and effort to build them . Things don’t last long in today’s world .
Right now, if you have the cash, and have anything but a Russian passport, you are KING. You can soon get one of these superyachts in government auctions -- for the price of what you would have paid just 6 months ago for a non-super yacht. 🙂
It makes a huge difference who owns them. That is why they are burning up SMH with frequency lately. And these people are so wealthy, they live like kings while 3/4 of the world struggles to eat!!! These rich could care less about those people.. nothing is coincidence people are just to damn dumb to realize that all they think they know is complete rubbish for the most part

Good Sir. Do you think (hypothize) that these fires are related to financial hard times or arrests of valueable vessels??? Thank you for all your great content. Bob; Louisiana; USA
Gorgeous yacht! So very sad for the owners, crew, and any others who may have been aboard.
The insurance claims keep coming👍
Haha kind of funny you just talked about super yachts having better firefighting capabilities. Seems like it doesn't really matter, fires on boat equals evacuate and pray. Cheers
This is still a smaller boat, but would have had better fire systems than the smaller ones.
@@YachtReport it's a pretty crazy world that a 44m or 144 ft yacht is small. Cheers.
And this was not a fiber glass hull, it was steel and aluminum. Not nearly as flammable
You only just mentioned fire detection and suppression on the larger superyachts, how much better it was in your previous video! It will be interesting how this one pans out, did the kit save it?
THANKS FOR THE REPORT ! That vessel is so new it can be a problem of bad desing.
“August is a HOT month.”
My goodness, it's the Summer of yacht fires. Insurance companies must be losing their minds.
No way, this is one every day. If I was sceptical I would think this is more than coincidence. I can’t wait for the insurance Coy’ to get together on this as when they do, not long now, they will not be paying out!
She's a beautiful yacht and so brand new! I know the investigations of all these fires will take months or years, but do you think there's any link between builders/owners trying to go greener and therefore carrying more batteries? Lithium batteries hate moisture (hard to avoid around all that sea air and water) and GRP hulls only need a whiff of flame. (Aware this one was a steel hull though) It'll be interesting to find out eventually what the cause of all these fires has been and where they all started, engine room/kitchen/battery bank/toy locker (lots of batteries in there too). Great report as always, thanks for the updates.
Lithium batteries in boats are almost always LifePo4. They are pretty safe and not in the same league as other lithium batteries.
You are correct though that yachts are carrying a lot more batteries than ever before and the inverters require huge electrical loads with massive cables etc.
It is possible that this increase in electrical power combined with the complexity of the more modern systems might be increasing fire risk.
what is going on with all these fires? are there more than on any other year? do you have stats?
With all the boat fires lately someone is hiring a batch of klutzes.
Do you think the weather is causing these fires? Are the engines overheating?
Another fire!!! Odd, it seems to be an epidemic of a different kind. IMO.
I am saddened by the frequency of superyacht fires in recent months. A live discussion between you and Super Yacht Captain Tristan Mortlock on how yachts can minimize the risk of fire would bring together two experts on the topic. The discussion need not focus on the specific causes of recent fires but on the broader issue of fire safety at sea.
It's no coincidence people are pathetically dumb. There is a common thread in all these occurrences. People need to be able to think for themselves to figure it out.. sadly too many cannot, and are mindless, and easily told how to think and what to think...
Looks like a tender garage on the starboard side under where the aft fire is.
Hi mate, are all these fires unusual there does seem to be a lot of them this year?
WTF-OVER! 🤔 Coincidence or criminal. 🔥 🔥
Seems there is a yacht on fire every other day now. Any correlation with hybrid engines/batteries?
There sure are a lot of Super Yachts catching fire lately.
What is going on with all the super yachts going up in flames? Does this always happen or is this an unbelievable chain of events?
Hey eSysman! Is this many fires normal? If not what are your thoughts?
As other have commented these fires appear to be occurring more frequently or is it that this is normal and your reporting of these fires make it appear that way?
So many fires recently. Hopefully no one was hurt from this fire.
No it isnt "So many". There are 10's of thousand of yachts and the number that catch fire is extremely small.
Very sad to see another yacht on fire!
Is this number of boats burning normal?
What a beautiful boat..
What a shame..
Hope everyone okay
Do you have any thoughts on why there seems to be so many superyachts catching fire?
Are these incidents more common this year vs previous years or are we aware of them because so many tuned into your channel?
Yesterday, you mentioned that superyachts would be equipped to fight fires. Is this row boat too small to be required to have active fire fighting equipment on board? With an aluminium or steel hull woudl there be a decision made to either let it burn but remain afloat vs sinking it while dumping tons of firefighting water on it?
Are there incidents where a yacht this size or larger one survive a fire that can't be etinguished in a couple of minutes?
In this particular case of a brand spanking new boat, would the owner/insurance get forensic investigation done because if it can be shown it was manufacturing defect, he would get a replacement boat for free? Or is the builder immune from any responsibility from the minute the purchase transaction is signed and the onwer sails away with it?
What kind of fire suppression systems do yachts like this have? Sub par on this yacht Im guessing.
...it was at that moment, the captain realised having an on-deck barbeque may not have been such a good idea...
