My Mom always said "you didn't put the weight on over night, it's not going to come off overnight." I think often with weightloss we're fighting our minds more than anything.
I love the advise. I got be easy on yourself. The best way people fail is to stop. The best way to win is continue the journey. It may not feel like a win but you can not fail if your continuing what you started.
Dani I just had to tell you, 2 months ago I couldn't wear my boyfriend jeans, couldn't zip them up at all. Freshly washed, I put them back in my drawer. I've been following your advice eating some of your delicious recipes and drinking my water, walking on my treadmill and keeping a positive attitude. Today I put my boyfriend jeans on and easily zipped them up... happy tears for me!!! I finally found the right answer for me. That is you!!! Thank you so much for sharing these tips. I am on a journey of health after being diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, pre-diabetes, and high cholesterol. After 9 months of small changes (Tip 9 Keep it Simple), my A1C, fasting glucose, and cholesterol levels are now normal. In addition, many of my Hashimoto's symptoms like achy joints, dry skin, and fatigue have been alleviated. I am even down 28 pounds. It is amazing what small changes can accomplish! Keeping it simple has allowed me to succeed and really improve my health. I can't wait to see where this health journey takes me. :)
These tips are so helpful, even if you aren't looking to lose weight. One of the biggest things I've learned about nutrition is that in order to feel full from a meal it needs to have three things: fat, fiber, and protein. There's a dietitian here on UA-cam who calls it the "Hunger Crushing Combo." All that took was adding a few things to my meals, not taking things away, which seems counterintuitive, but it works.

First - our journey with weight, body, and food are all a reflection of our journey with ourselves and our lives - so while weight loss is near and dear to my heart b/c it was a struggle of mine for so long - this information can be applied to so many areas of life! AND - I agree - fat, fiber, and protein are HUGE in helping manage hunger and cravings - that has made a big difference for me as well. AND finally - I love how you mention that your focus was on ADDING in, not removing - such a powerful mental shift!). Thanks for sharing.

I'm currently struggling with menopause weight gain and suffering as it feels nothing is helping me lose the weight, I've tried all and every single diet you can think of, I have joined program after program after program, only to fail and get the weight back, sometimes more. # 4 - wow - that was awesome. thank you. so true - I have changed to follow my hunger and it really helps. I also now eat only until I feel satisfied - that almost always means if I go out to dinner for instance, I am most often eating half and taking the rest home for another meal the next day. these simple things really help on my journey. thanks.
Hello Dani, I have mastered all 10 of those steps. It’s definitely a personality change and a life journey that I’ve been going through for a few years now. Recently going through peri menopause. I’ve noticed my weight fluctuates daily & it’s harder for me to lose weight let alone maintain it. Any advice?
Turning to food from a strong emotional stand point can be helped tremendously with strategies and practices such as neuro emotional technique. Chiropractors often offer this. Trauma is found in the body and memories can be discovered as the root of emotional eating issues. For example - I ate emotionally from my own birth trauma (when I was born) was leading to an impulsive and uncontrollable urge to binge on sweets for comfort. Now I don’t have that problem any more and I struggled for over 30 years. Tips and tricks are helpful but often they aren’t strong enough to hinder subconscious behaviors.
I find it easier to fast until noon or 1 pm when I am on the computer. Or watching UA-cam videos. First thing I eat is a small avocado 🥑/raspberries/nutritional yeast/ balsamic glaze, topped with gobs of flat leaf 🍃 parsley…fat, protein, anti-oxidant, and leafy 🥬 green!

@@christineherold3170 Hi Christine. There were times that I was doing things right but the numbers on the scale didn’t move. I was told that muscle weighs more than fat. I work out 5 times a week I knew I was building muscle. A friend suggested that I measure myself. After 3 week period, the scale said I didn’t lose nor gained weight. The good news was I lost 3 inches off of my body. My clothes were loose. Don’t give up. Dani has a lot great videos which gives encouragement and hope. I wish you well on your journey.

Love your videos very helpful I am 54 and struggling to lose more weight I am trying to shed 30 more pounds and really struggling. Here lately it has been discovered that my blood sugar has been dangerously low, I was doing intermittent fasting and the doctor in the ER said I should eat regular and not fast. I don't know what to do for myself anymore???????

I love how real you keep these weight loss tips in your videos 👏 to be honest I prefer all of these practical health tips over any of the “sexy” weight loss advice that’s out there. Because sure, some other people on social media/ the internet can teach you EXACTLY WHAT to eat and provide a full meal plan, but if you don’t know HOW to eat (your connection with yourself and food over the weight loss journey lifestyle) then you’re setting yourself up for failure. Hi Dani, thank you for the great advise and awesome videos. Do you think that the environment plays a big role in health and food choices? We went from coastal living to country living and it has reaked havoc on my weight. Whether that is emotionally related or not. Have you heard of this?
With a very busy full time working lifestyle, how does one adjust their eating schedule dependent on the schedule of an employer, how does one determine when to eat... for example... If I'm not hungry at my work scheduled lunch break, then an hour later, become hungry but not allowed to eat (or take any kind of break at all, except maybe a potty break) due to the structure of the employer's schedule, so then don't eat, then ravenous when getting home... How does one work that gameplan?
Hi Dani! I just want to say I've been watching your UA-cam channel for a few years now and recently started following you on fb as well. I love and appreciate everything I've been learning watching you. What would you say about cutting certain food groups from our meals? This is one I struggle with A LOT when it comes to cheese/dairy. I have it in my mind that its so "bad for me" so I try not to eat it and when I do I get discouraged, feel like a failure and it makes me feel like im wrong for wanting and eating it. How do I get past this in your opinion and do you believe any food groups are bad for us?
I have such a hard time with going to bed. That’s my downfall. Everything else I can work on but I have so much anxiety and feel like the world is on my shoulders.

I'm sorry, but... I love your videos and find them beneficial to my life. However, I can't help but notice that your Botox keeps your face from giving any expression. It's difficult for me to listen to you talk about all these health issues and solutions while I can't keep my eyes off you shiny, wrinkle free forehead with perfect eyebrows. We all want to look better. But why live a healthy lifestyle just to inject some foreign liquid into us to make us look younger? Why not stay natural? You're amazingly beautiful as you are. You don't need the help. Especially as young as you are. (Probably in your 30- early 40's ?)... It doesn't matter. You're beautiful, without Botox. I miss your expressions. Luv u anyway. 🥰 You just don't need anything like that.🕊
