No Spoilers: The game is around the length of Undertale and maybe a little longer depending on the route. I would recommend doing a pacifist route first because it has the most content and gives you the best understanding of the world and story. Though if you wish to continue a neutral route, that is also fine. You are currently locked into a neutral route as you have killed and spared already. So you don't have to worry about activating another route by accident. I hope this was helpful.
As someone who had done a pacifist run on first (and only) gameplay, I disagree, honestly, the Neutral route have so much to show a first time player, and make them do other route by the end, extending the game time, and be rewarding by how different Neutral and Pacifist are in this game

I've been waiting for you to play this! No spoilers, but just a heads-up: Pacifist, Genocide and Neutral are all different routes with different endings. Pacifist has most lore, Neutral has some of the most fun fights and Genocide will be a surprise!

Honestly, mad respect to you playing how you want. I know so many UA-camrs who just do a route because they’re scared of the comments yelling at them. Also don’t worry about accidentally getting onto the genocide route, you have to intentionally go out of your way to kill every monster in an area, if you miss a single one you’re locked out of genocide.
yes, and i am also pretty sure you can't ever be locked into pacifist, since pacifist is just where you spare everyone and you can always kill some monster later on in the game . not 100% sure if there's a specific point close to the ending where that would be you LOCKED IN to pacifist (specifically the one at the stairs that prompts you to turn back or go forward.) but even so, thats like practically right at the end

The neutral route is much more interesting and different in this game than it is in Undertale, so don’t sweat it. I do recommend sparing the main bosses, but it’s not hugely important. And yes, there are multiple routes.
Also also, this game is the soul before the Undertale red soul (frisk)
I'm really glad that YuB is still uploading content that pretty much only his Older viewers would enjoy watching, and ever since i started editing my own videos for my own channel, i have a new found appreciation for videos that are edited like this. Undertale Yellows endings are actually really good, i cant wait to see your reaction to them! And also dont worry about making other people angry due to the route you chose first. True Pacifist is really the "canon" way to play Undertale Yellow but all the other endings are just as good if not better
the only thing is about him playing neutral first is that the deaths would be way more impactful after having the bond with the characters in pacifist, but tbh that doesn't matter 100%. i hope he does try pacifist at least after this tho!

Just like Undertale, you can make any choice you want, and it's not wrong. Geno doesn't start until you start grinding, but I'd recommend keeping track of which bosses and minibosses you spare and which you kill ;)

Just a little clue for the ruins you're at.
That strange hole that looked like a snake in the dark cave, there are other other distinct shapes like that scattered around the place. I won't say how many or where, but if you feel up to a lil' treasure hunt something will happen when you find all of them. Again, entirely up to you if you wanna backtrack a little for some extras and I respect your decision to play how you want mate.
Edit: Oh, and you'll need to interact with the shapes in a certain order. The sequence should be clear when you look at how they look. A sound will happen when you press the right one.
Yub, there is a new horror/escape game there is multiple maps to the game, anyway, the game is called lethal company and it’s $9.99 on steam, I would like to see you try it out and see if you like it. It would be funny to see you play it because you will most likely scream because it’s kind of scary when it gets dark. other commenters have said this but still, undertale yellow actually does have a neutral route that is really cool and has a lot of unique content, so the way you’re playing is totally fine and im excited to see more of this game from you!

Yo yub a little secret for you, if you wait around 5 minutes after falling deeper into the ruins, toriel will come back and drop down a rope for you to climb back up.
Don't worry about killing stuff and locking in geno as soon as you kill a enemy it locks out of passifist and geno you need to kill all enemy's in the room your in just like deltarune

I must say I didn't expect you to play this game but I am excited to see you play it! To answer your question just play how you want on your first run, if you want to get the other endings after then go for it but right now just enjoy the game and do not worry too much about wrong decisions

So glad to see people playing this and I will say that you shouldn’t feel bad or have people guilt you into feeling like you should only do pacifist, unlike undertale you don’t need to get neutral to get pacifist, don’t be scared to kill bosses either, genocide is a very very specific thing and like in undertale you have to drain an area of enemies to get it, now that you’ve spared dalv and didn’t wipe out the ruins you can’t get genocide. If you need help remember that clover is here to find the 5 lost kids who fell down before you and is a little kid with a somewhat skewed sense of justice, if you think someone is looking at you wrong that’s probably enough justification to take them out, but spare whoever you want. If you are considering going back and doing pacifist first I wouldn’t recommend it, as neutral gives you more context and info for the story even if you lose some character interactions
Also here’s a little hint for something you saw in the ruins
That was a 2 in the ruins, yo can’t do anything with it on your own but maybe if you found more numbers in the ruins you could find a tiny secret, just make sure to press them in order! Something to consider for the pacifist route
I actually appreciate how your not forcing the playthrough to be instantly pacifist, i think that neutral is always the best way to play gameplay wise but also this games neutral rote is really cool

This game has four endings (which I will not list due to spoilers), unlike the original, which has three (genocide, neutral/pacifist, and true pacifist) (with the only change being Sans’s dialogue at the end)
and one more thing before i go, yub. You were not going crazy, that was infact a 2. You have to explore the ruins some more to find and interact with 1-5 for a secret boss fight, and the numbers can actually range from where you found flowey to the front of dalv's house, so there is some searching to be done.

The neutral route is the best in my opinion, the final boss is absolutely amazing! Pacifist to me is second best because it's the "true" ending (Great ending btw!), genocide isn't as important as the others but the fights obviously are harder.

Personally, I think it’s the best possible outcome that you chose the neutral route. That’s the route I would recommend to go on first. I get really bugged when people don’t let content creators play the game how they want to, and anyway, the neutral route is pretty great. Won’t spoil it.
PS: there IS a “secret boss” in this game. Won’t tell you how, but I think since you’re still in the ruins you can still start the steps to unlock it. Correct me if I’m wrong
